i didnt ask any questions i just told the truth. (ok i did ask a question) so what is the point of your question apart from trying to tear the truth to pieces?

this is not about condemnation or the matter and manner of sin. its about the truth, we worship jesus because he came to save us from our sins and as the son of god i bow down to him and pray for his mercy. i worship god because... he is GOD and i want to do as much of the things i can that will make him happy, obviously im a sinner in a million ways and do the most stupid things that i regret afterwards, like we all do. gods not into homosexuality but it happens like every other sin, it can be forgiven. but this isnt about being in sin this is about teaching homosexuality as if it was the will of god, if you still dont get it the buzz word is TEACHING. i could pull a million things out the bible to make gods point but this one will do for me.

I think this is personally absurd, blasphemous and dangerous!

I have a real passion in my heart for talking to people I know (and those whom I have yet to meet) who live a homosexual lifestyle, about the freedom salvation in Christ Jesus brings - not that I hate or dislike anyone who has chosen this lifestyle, but simply because I personally know the freedom of salvaion from this lifestyle personally!! We must be careful not to fuel the enemies fire with words of condemnation, yet we cant remain silent - I agree with both points raised, it is a delicate balance there - and I pray for the Lords guidance in this.

This has been a amazing thread and has given me so much to think about, so much to continually encourage me in my new walk without my 'past' and I thank God for each and everyone of you for sharing your views here!!

For if they truly have a love for The Almighty GOD or for Christ Jesus then they would be anxious to serve GOD & live according to HIS Rules & Regulations.

Well that person Satan is a work full time seems like. It is not a any suprise to me someone has wrote a bible for self justification or to make themselves and their followers feel better.

I see it in churches, in life, in many things, that is what I mean when you will see me say I find religion totally silly sometimes, many churches and people in life teach God is all love, nice, nice, we should all forgive and accept all without question.

Not so, so I call it silly nonsense. And that word is just used for public comment, my true words would start a war.

Just last night on the news I saw reports of people now forming their own churches without God. They want to have their own church, call it good without God.

All this stuff scares me, sure does, makes me sad actually, but seems to fit in with inventing your own bible.

There can be no good, no morals and no ethics without God, so although God has already told us this will become the normal daily events, it makes me sad.

I see many people , churches, from all directions more and more accept some very bad things, from homosexuality to extreme tolerance for many other things.

I feel sad, but also grateful God keeps me away from all that stuff. And has given me the wisdom to simply close my ears. Not be swayed, and in a weak moment be convinced of some something that is not good.

It is a very wise moderator who removed the link to the book, if you listen , you could be swayed. So best to not listen, to believe God when he tells us these things must be or will be and simply ask to stay in his circle.

What do they do with the verses that say homosexuality is a sin...? Take them out?

Hi Miss Emily:

No they change them to fit , give them different meaning, just as many in the churches do to prove a point, the true meaning is lost.

I am not a scholar and I get things misplaced and mixed up as far as facts and history ,but I retain what is taught to me by God when I go looking for an answer.

An example I believe would be David. Was it not he who had a close friend, one who laughed with him, played jokes on him, went everywhere with him, and was just a friend. A very close one. That is all it was, as I also have had friends like this, they simply make the day brighter.

The Gay community and those who support that lifestyle twist that around, and try to make it a ********** relationship. They separate those one or two verses to prove a point, to make a different meaning with it.

This is something I see all the time, and many times done in an innocent manner, people will take a verse or two quote it and it by itself can mean something totally different without the understanding of the entire situation.

That is what they do, turn it around, make it fit, it is called self justification.

A note to what God has told me about this recently, is we should not by ourselves condemn them, if we get the chance we should talk to them in a calm easy manner and simply make true statements, by our witness to what is true and right we set an example for them to think about, to follow, just allow God to guide you and not become swayed or caught up in things they may very intelligently and in a persuasive way try to change your mind.

So if you are comfortable in your solid belief, there is no danger to talking to anyone about any sin. We should, because if I remember right Christ sat with the sinners, laughed and had a good time, but in his way kept to the truth. He was not real concerned with the ones who already knew him, but those who did not.

This is how I look at things, how I talk to God, just as a friend, I do not quote little scriptures and verses, I simply ask God about things, read his word and he grants me sometimes knowledge of certain things and an understanding.


So no they do not take them out, they twist them around to fit their purpose, and that comes from many directions, even in your own family.

I guess what I am trying to say is although God commands us to love everyone, it is not as many teach, total acceptance and allowance of things. This does not mean to just go do them harm or in anyway be unjust or unfair. But to keep Gods real meanings dear, and not be swayed by the many bad things in this world. We are told we must obey mans laws, live by them, just to survive, but we can hold what God tells us dear at the same time, and sometimes make a difference.
If everyone from the tax man who taxes your home to the mailman who delivers your mail would hold these truths dear, it would be a different world as this would show a different way in many things.

Do I know really what I just said. Lol!! I dunno, just seemed right to me. I am trying to explain how these things come about and how they influence people on a daily basis.

All these people are doing is accepting something not like Christ
just because it fits their lifestyle, and they hate that they know they are
sinning, but must be too proud to admit it. They think they can run away from it all, and think, well, since I'm following THIS version of a bible, I'm living a holy life!! When all it's doing is turning them away from God even more! If only these people could look at themselves as if they were looking at a mirror, to see what they really are doing to themselves, how much they are hurting themselves, and people they spread this so called 'truth'. Blasphemy at it's highest...

An open-minded person may want to discover for him or herself what the Bible is all about and why it's such a awesome & powerful book.

I want to pre-frame by saying that one sin is no different than another sin, and which of us is more than one decision away from our own sin?

That being said, I wonder how the open and affirming edition plan on tackling these verses (not to mention the sin and destruction of Sodom):

I think we ought not to allow ourselves to get overly caught up in worrying about the gay bible, Andy Schafly's bible, etc. I believe we need to stick to the basics; go and "make disciples of all nations" (Mt 28:19). Our job is to fan out into the world and - at the Spirit's prompting - show the love of Jesus to those who don't know Him.

As far as I am concerned a "bible for gays" is no bible at all. I believe God is carefully watching those who claim to have His Word but twist it. They will be punished in the end if they do not turn from sin. That's in God's Word.

Wow, don't want to be that author when he stands before the judgement seat of christ.
So many people seem to do the same thing, they seem to say we don't like waht the bible says so we'll change it to say what we ant it to say.
Thats not only dangerous, it's plain scary too.
