Opinions on human actions towards sin

I do understand the point - however, I find it strange how a Christian who has committed adultery can protest a homosexual. It is all sin, so I feel that this would be better solved through peaceful prayer to God, rather than hateful protests. Why do we not just pray to God to solve these problems? Are we forgetting that there is not any problem too big that God can not solve? Pray to him to solve sin. Pray for the sinner to find their way to the holy spirit. Why are we trying to fight a fight that is not ours? Isn't there more strength in prayers to God versus a human protest?

God decides - not us. It seems strange to me that we can persecute others based on their sins, yet we ignore our own - and we all do this daily, everyone - it is human.

I just wonder how different the world would be if each person left the sins of others alone, and just worried about their own sin (because everyone sins A LOT)....

Rather than fighting it with hatred, why not fight sin with love? If the message in the Bible is eternal love - I don't think we as humans are in the place to condemn others for sin - instead of focusing on others sin - let's shift the attention off of the problem, and shift our focus on God. We should be putting our eyes on Jesus instead of on earthly problems. There are many earthly problems that ONLY Jesus can solve, not us.

My only rationale with the statement made earlier is this:
If I constantly have premarital sex, and I am a Christian, I should not be protesting other people's sin when I have majorly sinned myself. In no way am I saying that I have to "like" or "accept" the sins that others commit - I do not. But I do not judge that person for their sins, as I have sinned myself. Do I like the sin? No. Absolutely not. But I also know that only God should decide.

For example - I have to wonder - rather than condemning murders, rapists etc - how different would the world be if we prayed to God for them, kindly - rather than condemning? This is even a difficult statement for me to say - however, I have to wonder how different the world would be if we prayed to Jesus for these people who commit such evil - because I believe, truly, only Jesus knows the answer.

Instead of protesting and spreading hatred - shouldn't we stop trying to take things into our own hands? Instead, shouldn't we pray? And shouldn't we leave these problems in God's hands?

I am not justifying any sin - I am just simply saying that rather than battling earthly sin with hatred, meanness, and condemning - why don't we instead pray to God for these people in kindness? It seems like humans try to fight a battle that isn't their battle to fight - I'm confident God knows what He's doing - and I'm also confident that God is the only one who knows it all... and even though we might think we know a lot, we really don't.

It is a humbling moment to be made aware of the realization that we can learn a lot more through prayer to God, rather than through condemning others.

Again - I am not justifying any sin. I do not agree with any sin. However, I commit sin daily, as I am human, and I know I am not close to being perfect. I trust that God knows what He is doing, and I trust that problems can be solved with prayer to God, and with kindness - not condemning and fighting. I know this might not seem "logical" to many Christians - but I can't fight sin with hate - I can only fight sin with love.

I realize that the issue of homosexuality is a "hot topic" in our society - however, my entire suggestion and question is "Instead of fighting other's sin with hate, why don't we pray for the sins of others, straight to Jesus? Only Jesus knows the answers. Only Jesus can solve these problems. We are foolish if we think Jesus cannot solve these major societal issues, and we are even more foolish if we think that our regular human hands can. I think many people (Christians included) forget how powerful God is. So instead of forgetting how powerful God is, why don't we remember and acknowledge how powerful He is? Why don't we pray to Jesus to take away the sin, instead of fighting sin with more condemn?" We should acknowledge the sin to be sin and we should acknowledge it to be wrong, but I think we should look to Jesus to solve the problems, and we stop taking it into our own hands.

Some may say
Question: "well how can anything regarding sin and corruption get solved if we don't do something about it?! we're humans on earth! we have the power to spread what's right!"
Answer: .... have faith. God will fix all. Not us.

I think we should
1. Try our best to not commit sin.
2. Follow Jesus.
3. Kindly and lovingly educate others about Jesus.
4. Kindly and lovingly pray to God for individuals who commit sin and who have not yet found Jesus... because only Jesus CAN and WILL heal all.

I'm not justifying any sin. Sin is all sin and is wrong. However, I think we shouldn't forget that only Jesus has the power to fix everything through love.

I agree. All sin is sin.my teenage son thinks he is gay and has turned away from God.The problem is that they enter into a very anti christian, pro gay,Christians are crazy losers mentality to justify their sin and its a bad,bad scene.I know,I am living it.I love my son more than anything on earth,he is seeing a Christian counsellor and his Christian family live him no matter what. But the evil is incessant. The fight is real and hard.Because society thinks we are the ones with the problem then the sinner does not think they need saving. You get the crazy people protesting against gays, they are not Christians in my eyes and they are giving pro gay avctiivists ammunition.Wish they would go away and let me show my Son how much God loves him and is waiting for him.

James 2:
"8
If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,”a you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker."

Hope this helps

This is just my opinions on the topic - and I'm interested in learning what other people think :)

If homosexuality is a sin, isn't the act of condemning that sin also a sin?

Explanation:

It seems like it’s a vicious cycle that just keeps getting worse. If in the Bible, homosexual actions are a sin, we should also acknowledge the multitude of sins every one of us commits on a daily basis.

Premarital heterosexual sex, for example, is a sin that many people commit, however, it does not seem to get nearly enough light shed on it with our society. And the fact that it does not have light shed on it is a fault of humans. Protests aren't being held for premarital heterosexual sex. Why? Perhaps because society is attempting to assign rank to sins. This is a result of humans deciding which sins are worse than others. But the truth is, God says he hates ALL sin, equal. So if humans shine light on certain sins, shouldn’t other sins should also have light shed on them?

Instead of judging and protesting other people's sin, shouldn't we as humans simply pray? And, instead, shouldn't we be glorifying the God’s kingdom by spreading love and kindness in other ways (such as volunteering, helping others, and loving) in opposition to forming protests that condemn other people’s sins, and judgements on sin? Sin is for God to decide, we should only spread kindness.

Matthew 7:2
"For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.”
-If we judge others for the sin of homosexual actions and protest against their actions, we will be subject to the same harsh judgements for all of our sins - since God hates all sin equally.

Matthew 7:4
"How can you think of saying to your friend, 'Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye?”
-It seems as though when people protest the sin of homosexual actions, and protest homosexual marriage, they are condemning homosexual individuals on their sins, and they are ignoring the sins within themselves. For example: how can a man condemn another person for committing the sin of homosexual actions when that same man has cheated on his wife? They are both sins in God’s eyes.

Each individual should worry about his or her own relationship with God, rather than condemning others. Why should we condemn and protest homosexual actions? If we truly cared about glorifying God, wouldn't we say a prayer for all sin, and pray that the holy spirit finds it’s way to deliver everyone from all sin?

In today’s society, why don't humans protest ALL sin? Why aren’t protests and movements being held to stop premarital heterosexual sex? Why are humans selecting certain sins to be worse than other sins? We are sinning when we assign rank to sin - it is a sin within itself - because the rank of sin is not for humans to decide, it is for God to decide.

God hates all sin. God does not hate us. God loves us. We all sin EVERY day. Shouldn't we as humans not act as "know it alls?”

What a humbling and truthful moment it would be to accept that we are only human, and we truly don't know everything. We don’t know why people act the way they do, or feel the way they do - only God knows that. Only God knows everything, and God knows we sin every day - so we as humans are in NO place to condemn others - we are only in the place to pray for others, and to pray for ourselves.

The person protesting and condemning homosexual actions should also realize that he or she is no better than the person in which they are condemning - because we all sin on a daily basis in different ways - nonetheless - we still ALL sin.

What an amazing moment to realize that we are all equal in sin. Quite possibly, one of the only things every human has in common with every other human on earth is that we all sin. We are all sinners - and what an even more amazing moment to realize the truth that even though God hates sin, God loves us all, even though we sin.

Consider the book of Job - Job's friends told him he was being punished because he “must have sinned,” and told him that must be why he was suffering. By Job’s friends casting that judgement, Job's friends were also sinning in their actions, because they acted as 'know it alls' and because they were condemning Job. Job, in turn defended himself as being perfectly innocent and “having done nothing” to deserve this suffering - and therefore, additionally, Job sinned himself because he prided his righteousness and assumed he never sinned, when in fact, he did. What is important, though, is that God said they're ALL wrong (both Job and his friends). Because GOD is the only one who can decide what is right and what is wrong. So instead of us trying to "know it all" shouldn't we pray for ALL EQUAL sin to dissolve? And, instead of protesting and condemning others, shouldn't we spread love through volunteering, kindness, and help towards others?

Shouldn't we pray for God to take care of ALL sin? Pray for our own sin, and pray for other’s sin? Pray for anything and everything that God considers to be a sin? Because, it is true that we are all human, we all make mistakes, and God loves us unconditionally, regardless.

Although protesters and condemners may be attempting to glorify God’s kingdom - their actions might be fueling more hatred to circulate. Rather than protesting the sins of others, try praying with kindness and a humble heart - realize the truth that we are only human, and we don’t know all of the answers - only God knows it all. Wisdom comes from the realization that only God knows all.

We should not condemn the sins of others - we should focus on resolving our own sins, within ourselves, first. Pray for our own sin to resolve, pray for other’s sins to resolve - but always, always, treat other with kindness.

The Bible says to love your enemy. So, if some Christians believe that homosexuals are their enemy, then why are we not expelling that sin with love? Acknowledge the fact that we are only human, we all sin, and we do not have the answer. Pray to God to solve problems that we cannot solve - Jesus would not treat any individual with cruelty - so why aren’t we following Jesus’ actions in treating others with kindness?

Instead of humans trying to glorify God's kingdom by fighting, protesting, and condemning - we should stop trying to fight the fight between God and other people. Instead, we should pray for those people, pray for ourselves, and glorify God’s kingdom with kindness.

When we acknowledge the fact that we are all sinners - it makes it very difficult to condemn others on their sins - and instead, we should pray for ourselves and everyone.

Each person should worry about the 'log of sin' in their own eye, and not condemn others. Rather than condemning and protesting, replace those actions with volunteering at shelters, or helping a person in need - Glorify God’s kingdom with giving, kindness, and help, not judgement and condemning - let God be the only judge - all we should be doing is praying (praying for ourselves, and praying for others).

I think God would be pleased if we as humans made the conscious effort to glorify God's kingdom with acts of kindness, rather than acts that condemn other human’s sin when we ignore our own sin.

Am I trying to justify sin? No. But I certainly am not ranking sin, and I am making the conscious effort to not condemn others for their sins, because I know that I have a BIG log in my own eye.

Rather than protests and condemning, try prayer and trust that God will solve all problems. It's not our place to condemn others when we have sin of our own... But it is our place to glorify God's kingdom with acts of kind service to God others.

Where the sin would lie is in the condemnation of the sinner....Hate the sin, it's bad bad bad, but love the sinner...Just like Jesus does.
