Good afternoon Daisy;
No argument from here on some of your points. While I've listened to an audio sermon by Rick Warren a decade ago, his name means nothing to me. On the subject of all things Gay, I always get myself in trouble. Trust me, I don't need help getting into trouble as I can do that very well all by myself.

Honestly, I wasn't picking on American politics as I'm well aware that Canadians do not have a halo over their head, either. To add fuel to the fire, the Member of Parliament for my area (he lives in the community) is married to a male (what's the term?) significant other. They were pictured recently in the community newspaper holding newborn twin girls whom they adopted. I'm gazing at a picture two men holding twin girls, and they are legally a family. As people, I have no problem as they have the same right to life as I do. As a couple, not so much. To me, it sets the wrong example. There is freedom, but define freedom. Despite government legislation enacting same-sex marriage, a few provinces did not readily jump on board. My reaction was, "I can hardly wait for the first inevitable divorce". That took only a year. It gave the likes of Elton John the opportunity to marry David Furness. Sir Reginald was married to a German lady for a time in the 80's. His comment about the new law was, "who needs that silly old book anyway". Obviously not him, as it prevented him from getting his way.

All political parties have agendas. More often that not, it's not whom you may think will do the best job but whom you think will do the least amount of damage.

There is no halo over my head, but I will say this much: "if you want God out of your life, he will oblige you. Don't complain when he removes his blessings as well. You can't have it both ways". That is meant generally, not specifically to you.

Having traveled a few miles, people are people are people. Some will like you, and some won't. The feeling is mutual as there will be some you like, and some you won't. In theory, the churches as a whole should be one big happy family. But, they are not. I firmly believe that children are meant to be a blessing and should not be treated as property to be disposed of. I have a niece through marriage who through her own stupidity discovered she was carrying twins. Her boyfriend isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, either. Having said that, I do not wish either of them ill will and I would very much like to see them living as a proper couple instead of the current mess. They do not live together as she lived with her mom until late last year. Her girls turned two about a month after moving into an apartment living on her own for the first time. While abortion was toyed with, her mom put a stop to that notion upon learning that she would be a grandmother of twins. Personally, I did not want my niece to undergo an abortion. But, I also knew she had not been raised around small children and she would be in for a significant culture shock. Don't know if it makes sense, but we are basically on the same page. Cheers, John

About the only name of those you mention which I respect is Billy Graham. Nothing against Franklin, but he's still a bit green. I have listened to James Dobson and while he gives excellent advice, I have found he was quite keen on endorsing the sale of books for his friends blurring the line between family and money. Both McCain and Obama were given a list of topics to prioritize for their respective campaigns. While Obama put support for abortion surprisingly high, McCain's support for abortion wasn't much further down. Besides, McCain seemingly has a habit of divorcing wives when they no longer suit his purposes. From the perspective of family, neither are desirable role models. That's just my take on it. For whatever reason, John McCain lost, Barack Obama won, and the rest is history. Cheers, John

Some of it was televised, I watched live on tv, was on Fox News, CNN during the election. Was a townhall hosted by Rick Warren, I believe it took place in his Church. He had on John McCain and Barack Obama, at this time Rick Warren already had some type of role in some capacity with Obama, he had each of them explain their positions on abortion gay marriage etc, had them tell how they met Jesus etc

Rick Warren at this point in time had already started saying "I AM PRO LIFE BUT" that was his line, said they were not the only things to consider

You basically called me a liar I just gave my opinion and yes it is factual. Rick Warren helped Obama get elected , did his part in convincing some "Christians" that it was OK to vote for Obama even though he supported abortion (not to mention Obama supported abortion without any restrictions)

I suppose you will call me a liar for stating the fact that Obama as a Illinois Sen voted to not give aid to a baby that survived an abortion, BTW Rick Warren was aware of this but did not care and supported Obama anyway

I never believe anything anyone says about Rick Warren because there is a Satanic onslaught against him and it always turns out to be a pack of lies put out by those who oppose him just for the sake of opposing him, or at the very least, nonsense that comes out of misconstruing what he has ever said about anything.

He may have few friends in Conservative political circles, but that's because many believe the hype against him.

I don't believe anything that Warren is reported to have said concerning abortion. Most of what he says is usually taken out of context---which serves the devil well. We owe it to God to refuse gossip or be guilty of being a gossip monger. Just listening to it is as bad as repeating it.

Rick Warren has said that its not the only issue, he said I am pro life but... and he supported Obama a pro abortion guy for President, if you can not even verify that simple task on your own???? Then I cant help you, I believe there is video of him when he held the forum at his Church....Where were you when he had the forum, it was on primetime on all the US cable networks? Were you watching Friends or something silly? Just asking

BTW I never meant for Rick Warren to be the subject here believe it or not, I said the " Rick Warren types" I was using that to basically cover all the people and Ministries that have recently adopted a liberal view of the Gospel, so many are afraid to offend anybody, so they are watering down the Gospel, These folks dont want to tell people that the homosexual lifestyle, yes and abortion are not acceptable to God.

Joel Osteen interviewed on Larry King a few years ago, Larry asked him 5 times if Homosexuality was a sin, on the 5th time he finally said...well it`s not God`s best , those were his exact words.

Oprah Winfrey said she loves Joel Osteen....the reason being is that he does not talk about how her lifestyle is unacceptable to God

I dont think we are doing people any favors by this type of approach, it only comes across as accepting their lifestyle as normal, that is a bad message to send to young children. I dont know of a single character in The Bible that played down our sin or watered down the Gospel so as not to offend

Anyway I am done. I just have a hard time forgetting how Rick Warren and others gave the impression that it was OK for Christians to vote for Obama....Anybody that did has blood on their hands for his 2 Supreme Court Judges he appointed, not to mention the very very importand appeals court judges he appointed

So yes its a horrific situation in the USA and Canada for God`s unborn children, but at least in the USA the REAL Christians are still voting for the Things of God, while so called "democrat Christians" work against us

BUT there are a small Few TRUE Believers who may or MAY not vote as there concern is not with borders of countries but only concern is loving sinners, preach Jesus, and change people from within, one road wide the other small for a few.

Actually, you're coming across pretty harsh yourself with your sarcasm and overly sensitive responses. Disagreements are normal. You made a sarcastic remark about
whether or not another member was watching "friends or something silly". Is sarcasm Christ-like? I don't think so. So I would advise you to check your own posts first.

Warren is always getting a bum rap. Here are two quotes from the man, and I dare anyone to say he compromises. Rather it is his detractors who compromise the truth just to denigrate a man. For shame.
