This short Sky News video is of the arrest of a 71 year old preacher who was reading out from his Bible about doctrine on Christian marriage
Persons of the alphabet population complained and rang British police to make a complaint of hate speech
They arrived and arrested the preacher for speaking Biblical doctrine in public

I read this online and find it utterly appalling. These minority 'alphabet' groups want their voices heard but refuse to allow others to use theirs - or God's. These are the times we live in. Dark and getting darker. But let the Light of Jesus continue to shine in his people, in his church and stand against these modern day iniquities.

I'd like to look at this from a different angle. Firstly 'roughing up' a 70 odd year old guy like that is disgraceful and totally inexcusable, it rightly shocked the crowd and I do hope that the officers involved found themselves on the receiving end of disciplinary proceedings. There's really no excuse for that.

But rewind to prior to the police intervention. I want to ask what was motivating this man? Was he trying to further the kingdom of God, draw people into the love of God, rescue them from the clutches of Satan or maybe just convince any passing gays that they need to be straight? Maybe he was just making a point, but does that really glorify God? More likely, he's wanting to cause annoyance and division - food and water for our enemy Satan who thrives on that.

The verses he was quoting were written to and for churches and believers, not Joe Public. Joe needs to be told to repent from ALL sin, follow Jesus and receive a ticket to Heaven, the Holy Spirit, a relationship, love and care of the amazing creator God. Much better, more appropriate verses might be 2 Corinthians 5:17, Matthew 11:30, John 10:10, John 8:31-32, Romans 6:23, Colossians 1:13-14, Romans 8:1-2 and there are hundreds more.

We need to be more Christ like, His preaching was as He put it in Luke 4:18-19. Nowhere but nowhere in the Bible are we told to tell sinners to tone it down or try and be good. So why do we?

IMO that's why the Church in the West is in decline, we lack relevance.

I appreciate there are many ways to witness, and we would doubtfully witness the same way in all circumstances, we would not witness to a friend or family member or a work colleague as we would in the street.

But in the video we are referring to street evangelism, it is soap box stuff. John the Baptist preaching.

There used to be a man with long hair and a beard and wearing long robes who went around preaching his message in public and they killed him on a cross. But his message cannot be silenced. It is still relevant and still being preached 2,000 years later.

And just recently to our shame our state parliament passed legislation permitting abortion up to the day of birth > infanticide has returned.
The wrath of God is coming upon this world and we are relevant to the saving of souls. That is why that 71 year old preacher took the time and made the effort to preach righteousness to the unsaved.
