Racist fish names change. No, this is not Babylon Bee satire

I read the article. I didn't say that racism had nothing to do with the name change. I said that nobody behind the name change said that calling a fish 'Asian' is racist.

It's not cancel culture to change a name. Nothing and no-one got cancelled here.
No-one is making a demand on the basis of offence in the OP situation.
The obvious point is, none of that is true.
The curious point between you and your god is, why you'd waste the time to falsely claim it is.

Ok. Prove me wrong.

1. Tell me the name of a person behind the name change believes that calling these fish "Asian" is racist.
2. Tell me who is saying they have been offended by the term "Asian Carp".

May God help you.
Amen.

This is really the crux of the story: The four species described collectively as Asian carp — bighead, silver, grass and black carp — were brought from China a half-century ago to rid Southern sewage and aquaculture ponds of algae, weeds and parasites.

Unfortunately, the carp fishes escaped into local waterways and began spreading to the point of being described as invasive. Unfortunately, the American diet will not eat these fish so they have little commercial value as compared to the commercial fishes they not only compete with, but tend to dominate resources.

The race card was played when (doesn't say from where) when an Asian business delegation (doesn't say from where) arriving at the Minneapolis airport encountered a sign reading "Kill Asian Carp."

The simple solution would be to call the fish their proper names: Bighead Carp, Silver Carp, Grass Carp, and Black Carp. But, that would be too simple. Cheers.

This is what troubles me, people sitting in the temple of baal ( organised religion) thinking they are saved and worshipping the truth. They are in for a terrible surprise.
What should trouble you is that as you judge organized religion and imply its members aren't Christian, while you should concern yourself with your own image in that regard, the one thing OR and whatever you follow have in common? Is that you're all informed by one book; The Bible.

By the way, Judaism, qualifies as "organized religion". Jesus was the Messiah prophesied in Judaism and was a Jew.
Careful whom you Blaspheme.

The reason I've pursued this is not because I'm interested in the best way to name Bighead Carp etc.

I'm worried at how easily some of us leap onto any story that looks like a liberal agenda at work and go over the top with an opposition reaction.

It's been described as demonic, Satan's agenda, linked to Ba'al worship, and gender reassignment operations, free speech, religious freedom. I personally have been likened in my words to the serpent in the garden of Eden. For some, the naming of a fish is a salvation issue.

Check first. Not everything progressive is evil, not every conservative impulse is good. Check the evidence, consider the implications.

Make sure you know what And who you are decrying and why. Otherwise you are likely to end up looking foolish.

I believe the culture wars are set to become more shrill and more toxic. If that's true we need to be wise about about what battles to fight, when and where and how.

One way not to be conscious of truth is to ignore the details of a story relating a PC Liberal Cancel Culture tactic, obfuscate that truth with lies, insist those reading the truth and opining accordingly are faulted for not instead accepting the lie in truths place.

And when that end game of the purveyors of the lie isn't successful, the purveyors then make a point of imparting the next leftist ideology.

Like, don't care about Liberal fascist PC programming getting our attention. Just let it happen because it's important to pick our battles. Which is a way of saying, stay meek and let it happen.

Which is of course bolder dash. However, many a people in history have been yoked by the same liberal PC Cancel Culture Fascist tactics currently active in America, and worse in Canada.

That old truism, those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it, will always remain true.

Even as the LFPCCC agenda purveyors seek to erase that history in the hopes future generations have no historic reference from which to draw in order to see them
coming.

It takes guts to remain a free people. Body, mind, spirit.

The cowards don't last. Because a people willing to let others do the thinking for them were always slaves first.

Ok. Longish posts insinuating I'm a coward and in the grip of a liberal agenda.

But thin on the ground dealing with facts and backing up your accusations.

1. Tell me the name of a person behind the name change who believes that calling these fish "Asian" is racist.
2. Tell me who is saying they have been offended by the term "Asian Carp".

You it seems.

At a time when racism and violence against Asians in America is growing, an aggressive campaign against any labelled Asian is at least a bad look, and at worst could help stoke anti-Asian violence.

I personally have never seen any racism or violence against any Asians here. But yet according to you, naming a fish a certain way... "is at least a bad look, and at worst could help stoke anti-Asian violence"?

Who has been offended by the term "Asian Carp". I don't know. Apparently the same people who think it is a bad look and will stoke violence.

No, I don't think the term "Asian Carp" is racist.

I'm not calling you a coward. If I were to , I would say your name. Lets make that clear.

Lastly, and I do mean lastly, when articles detailing the story and the reason for the name change don't get through to you, you have a very serious issue with facing the truth. Whatever game you're playing it is one that you should cease and desist in pursuing. Because quite frankly the tactics utilized don't , as you appear to intend, frustrate the readers of your denial of facts.

Rather, the tactics you employ in your game make you appear to be intellectually stunted and unable to comprehend information derived from a printed source.

And if it is a learning deficit, you should avoid current event articles you're clearly not equipped to comprehend. You've made this article and thread about you.
That's the sin of malignant narcissism. You should be ashamed of yourself.

And if this gets me banned, that's fine. Your agenda is what should never be tolerated.

Hekuran denied the content of the OP article from his first post. And I believe his denials about what were detailed in the article as to the whole issue surrounding the Carp name change followed through to about the 2nd page of this thread? At that stage Hekuran admitted they'd never read the OP article they were denying as reporting what others who did read it said it reported.

Then Hekuran claimed to have used a VPN to read the article, after he claimed to have found reporting on the topic elsewhere, and continued to deny the article reported what was reported in the article.
And this is basically what they're falsely claiming. The genus "Asian Carp" is not being changed for any reason related racism. Not one iota.

It's called Trolling. Because that claim is a deliberate falsehood. As the article title and body of reporting prove.

Pasted from the OP linked article: (This is just the headline. Pretty clear, huh?)
Worries over racism, waterways inspire push to rename fish

There's also a Black Carp.
I expect once BLM hears about that they'll jump on the fish wagon and demand a change because calling a black featured fish black makes it sound synonymous with black people. Black Carp=Black People. Right? In this world? Right! :dizzy:

You've misunderstood what I've said.

First, I have read the article. I read the AP piece at the beginning on a different site. I also posted a link to it earlier in the thread.

I have not denied anything in the article. It seems to me to be typically straightforward Associated Press reporting.

I have never said that the name change was nothing to do with racism.

I have said that your claim that the people behind the name change are saying tbat naming a fish "Asian" is false.

You could easily prove me wrong by giving me the name of such a person and a link. But you've opted not to so far.
