Hi @Sue D. It's worth taking a bit of time to check which racial terms are offensive. "Mixed race" is preferable to "Mulatto", as it's a slavery-era term linked with the idea of a mule - mix between a horse and a donkey.

I had no idea that is where that mulatto came from thanks for the info.

The term Mulatto is what I'd heard when I was growing up. Back in those years, 'everything' was Not considered to be a racial slur and not 'everything' was being taken as 'offensive' to anyone.

Mulatto was simply referring to the children who were the product of a black person marrying a white person.

I grew up in a mostly caucasion community. Waterloo was divided by the Cedar River. The black families on the East side of the river and the white part of the population on the West side of town. There was a white subdivision further out on the East side.

The church I grew up in started out on the East side -- it was a fast growing population because John Deere's Tractor works was a fast growing company. The church grew and grew in membership. The area gradually became more dangerous and run down. It was an all-white church congregation. So -- the church bought land on the West side of Waterloo and built another church. It continued to grow -- with an all-white congregation.

The only time that people were aware Of the black population was at the yearly East /West football game. There were Always fights and always extra police presence.

AFter high school I attended the local business college -- there were maybe half a dozen black students -- they kept to themselves during break / lunch times. Predominantly white-student college.

In Missouri -- the only black family lived out in the country. Again -- no mingling. Nothing was ever Said -- but the two never mixed.

Texas -- mostly still white but more and more hispanics with some other nationalities mixed in.

The only place I hear about huge racial problems is in the Big city atmosphere.

In the small town we'd lived in for 30 some years, there was a small Black Baptist church. My daughter's best friend was a black girl who got married. We were the only white family there. When our daughter got married, Tammy was the only black person there in the wedding.

I've seen far more black people on TV than in real life.

The only referrence I've ever heard about a mix between a horse and donkey is a mule resulting that can't reproduce? Never heard of that in regards to slavery - era term.

I Think the real problem started back when the first students were chosen to attend a school of the other race. It Caused problems rather than accomplishing anything it was meant to help.

Racial tensions are Caused by trying to mix everybody up. Why not simply let white be white // Hispanics be hispanics // blacks be blacks //

Sure we can 'dialogue' as much as 'we' want to. People need to get to know each other. God created us as sociable people -- but let it be a natural thing.

One thing I Have been noticing -- there's Always going to be 'someone' offended by 'something'.

To be fair, do you think problem could be traced earlier than that - to the transatlantic slave trade, for example?

We have tread mills machine, Weights and table, and Invert table. and a Body punching bags, and kick bags, and expensive Bicycles (Trek). All of this stuff is top of the line. Because I did used them, exercise most of my entire life. I like going to the gym, she says. LOL. She is not heavy, But I ain't going to try to pick her up! Both Chew tobacco, put "Snuff" under the lip, drunk Castor Oil, Father John, COD LIVER Oil, Black Draught Laxative, and ate Plums, And Bake Apple pies, Peach and Black Cobblers! and still live way pass 80, died before they got to the hospital or right after.

I thank GOD they showed me how to cook! When i have a taste for "Black berry Cobbler" like my grandmother bake it, I go into kitchen and put on my Apron and tie the knot in the back!

I thought most people in the USA, knew that. especially christians. I knew that as a little kid, Black and white TV. [Walter Cronkite] growing up in it. And how "The USA" especially how USA throughout the years gave the Israeli people we call "Reparation Checks" an allowance. But actually, it is "welfare checks" for many years given to them from American workers through our taxes. ["Loads without Interest"].

The politics of a Palestinians versus Jews is complicated but also not really the issue of history being played out.
For this conflict between Arabs and Jews is the conflict between Ishmael and Isaac - between the children of Hagar and the children of promise.
For this conflict is about Jerusalem - Islam and its false prophet versus Moses and the prophets.
This conflict is about how God keeps his promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - not so much that the Jews of today are wonderful examples of OT righteousness.
This conflict will again see the destruction of Jerusalem and all the empires of the world to bring about an end to this age.

I forgot to mention that it is quite possible that the 'enemies' showed no mercy to anyone, and i would like to also point out again and question the significance of the date this all happened, being almost too coincidental with the anniversary of the proclamation of the State of Israel.

The King David Hotel bombing was a terrorist attack carried out on Monday, July 22, 1946, by the militant right-wing Zionist underground organization the Irgun on the British administrative headquarters for Palestine,
which was housed in the southern wing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem during the Jewish insurgency in Mandatory Palestine.
