Be Still
Greetings in Jesus name,
May i address this issue and in love I would like to address our fellow member, mackem lady as it is an important issue that while nobody wants to complain or be seen as a complainer, and nobody cares for complaints or complainers, there are at times legitimate concerns that we raise.
Some people will mutter under their breath, some will speak loudly without restraint. Some remain silent and only think their thoughts.
Either way, we ALL have times in our lives that we find difficult to deal with WITHOUT complaining.
We all would prefer to be better people and all too often we expect the other people we see, hear, and interact with to be the perfect person, much more than we care to push ourselves into that same boat.
This brings me to a message about a boat.
The disciples were on a boat and it was wild weather, the boat looked as if it would sink and Jesus was taking a nap. The disciples were in a fluster, as most of us would be in such a circumstance and they woke the Lord and complained that not only were they sinking, but that the Lord was napping and doing nothing about it! What did Jesus say?
And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39
Brothers and Sisters, one and all, when the Lord began His Church, it was not to complain against the world nor against each other, nor to put our energies into disputing or backbiting, nor to take sides against each other. He began a Church which was to be a light in the world, for those in darkness to find Him and His Salvation, His grace, His love.
Now, I said I would address mackem lady.
Dear Sister, you say you are nothing but a sensitive nobody, well on one hand I raise it and say that i too am a nobody and plentifully sensitive as well, so I am much as you are AND yet on the other hand, I raise it and say that Jesus is my Lord and king and that with that hand raised as Peter did on another occasion when he began to sink, the Lord stretched out His hand and...
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Matthew 14:31
The Lord loves us, each one of us, you included, and do not let anyone ever tell you anything else.
Now, here at Talk Jesus it is a privilege as the forum rules etc, clearly state and all of us can participate freely BUT at the same time none of us have to.
Nobody is or can force another to read anything or partake in any of the forums here. All too often we can find ourselves reacting rather than resisting the urge to snap at another, or complain. Nobody is forcing anyone to be here. We are all welcome BUT we must all also respect the fact that we are no better, or worse than each other and that Talk Jesus has simple rules which we all need to follow, in love.
In 'real life' outside of online forums, we will and do face trials and offensive situations all too often. We can learn here if we really ant to grow in grace, from the many good and the several not so good responses we read, and write and we can take from this place, Talk Jesus, a lesson which may help us or another through the walk of life that we are all part of.
These points that we raise here are no different to the 'outside' world except that often we will be 'braver' as we are not face to face with others and we can build up a false sense of confidence. That is why it is good to learn and apply the graces of courtesy and quietness, the 'be still' and the humility we can show and see, to our everyday lives. While Talk Jesus has from time to time a bit more contention or division or problematic members, it is and always has been a place where we CAN interact and add goodness.
Jesus formed a Church, Us. We can add good and we should.
Let us build each other up in love and not tear each other down.
If we see something that we find out of place we can gently remind ourselves of our often similar big or little mishaps which render us no better.
However, one thing that we should all always keep in mind, and practice and practice and then keep doing so until we do nothing else, and that is to ADD goodness. A dark room needs light and all the complaining in the world will not brighten it. A little light will.
Bless you ...><>
