Think I'm going to hell?

I want to apologize about coming off rudely at your question as to when i was saved. I honestly dont know when. Ever since i was young, 3 or so i can remember being very close to Jesus. He has always been in my heart. Even as a child i has many mystical experiences with Jesus and with Angels.

I studied for a number of yrs to be a minister.

While in college. I physically heard God speak to me. There was no doubts in my mind who it was. That would have been Christmas '78. On July 13, 1979 i had an experience i will never forget. I was living in an apartment at the time. It was about 2pm. I was reading the bible. The room suddenly got very cold. I could see my breath. A presence came into the room. I knew it was Satan. I dont know how i knew, but i knew it. He asked me a question, he showed me all he would give me if i just bow down and follow him. It was like a video in my mind. I said to him "no way, get away from me Satan. Protect me Jesus". Immediately he was gone.

Then i felt a second presence. I knew immediately it was the Lord. I could feel His love for me, His warmth. He asked me a question, and as before i saw everything like a video.

I said yes..

After the Lord left i began having all sorts of visions. Day and night.

Since that time i refer to this path im on now as my spirit walk with God.

Im married, have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. My wife is very familiar with Gods work in me. And im thankfull the Lord brought her into my life. She has experienced a few things to.

Sincerely, Bill
God has richly blessed you with children and with a wife who knows who and what you are. This is important to you and God understand your needs better than anyone. I have been happily married for 45 years with 2 children, several grandchildren and 1 great-grandson so I can relate. Remember that no matter what anyone says, it is God you are serving and it is God you are working to please.

Give God the glory always!

That because they are saved they can sin continually. And it is ok, because they are saved. Ive heard it preached.
That is so odd, I keep hearing this from a few people, " I can sin all I want" theology, yet in all my years, I have never heard someone say this, much less preach it. If you have, your're hanging out with the wrong people!

..and yet. There are quite a few people on this very thread saying this.
"I can never stop sinning". "I will never be able to stop sinning". I believe you yourself are one of these people. I can copy from some posts you have made if you like.
Yet you consider yourself saved.

Why you may not be saying these "exact" words. You are saying it. Because you can't stop sinning and you consider yourself saved.... in effect you are saying "there is no limit to how much I can sin". Perhaps that's not what you mean to say... but it doesn't come across any other way.

If someone can't stop sinning... i.e. they sin constantly everyday... and they are still saved... the obvious conclusion is... I can sin all I want.

No, there is a big differance. You must have Christ in your heart. I know what ive said.

There are some in heaven who had no knowledge of Jesus before they died. But Jesus was in thier hearts. And Christ lived in them.

There was a quote here recently. Matt. 7:21, it is one of my favorites. Because the other part of that reading says, the king tells the others, come with me. And those with Him say. When did we see you. And the Lord replies, when you fed the hungry, when you did for the least, you did it for me to ( not a direct quote).

Jesus never says, you need to know who i am to.

Infact scripture often talks about what is in the heart.

is not loving your neighbor as yourself on some days and not other days the same as sexual immorality in the sin department?

just because someone says they are a sinner does not mean they practice sin, the second most important commandment Jesus gave us was to love our neighbor as yourselfs, so let me ask you when someone comes on here and ask for a prayer and people do not even respond, have you loved your neighbor as yourself is that a sin if you have ignored that person?? y

Pride what if you are pleased with yourself after you have done something for someone is that a sin? is that pride?

God tells us to give thanks in all things, what if you get in a car wreck and dont give God thanks you have disobeyed him, is that a sin?

This is exactly what I am talking about... making excuses to sin everyday. Is this not saying "I can sin all I want"?

The truth.. the honest truth... is.. I don't hate my neighbor everyday. I have driven a hundred miles to help people move. I have mowed my neighbors grass while
they were in the hospital, I visit old people in nursing homes. No I don't do those things everyday. But loving your neighbor is often just as simple as
"not hating" them.

Rom 13:9; For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

Paul says if you aren't killing them, stealing from them, and committing adultery with them... basically you are loving them.
Jesus says the same thing.

Mat 22:37; And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
Mat 22:38; "This is the great and foremost commandment.
Mat 22:39; "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
Mat 22:40; "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Are there days I could love them more? Probably... but I certainly don't hate people everyday. You make it sound like we have to hate people everyday.
If someone personally comes up to me and asks me to pray for them... I almost always do. I can't really think of a time I haven't. That's the truth.
Why would you not pray for someone?

Pride... we could learn something from the gays here. Being proud of a job well done is OK. Flaunting it in other people faces, bragging about it.
Bringing it up over and over again. That is pride.

There have been many times in my life... when I have given God thanks for what seemed like bad cicumstances at the time. Yes, I'm sure there are times I didn't.
But for this last one... let's check something. There are some things in the Bible.. even the new testament called commandments.
Loving your neighbor is one of them. They aren't called the 10 suggestions. They are commands. Even in the new testament.
We are told to do them over ten times in the new testament. Now.. about thanking God... yes we should do it. But where in the new testament
does God Himself tell us to do this. Is it a "commandment" from God.. or is it simply a suggestion from one of the apostles?

If I break a suggestion from someone besides God, is that a sin?

Really beautifully written. Peace, brother

you suggest that I say we can sin all the time that bothers me and I take offence to it, so I hope my reply is respectful and does not let my emotions get involved I do respect you and Love you as a brother in Christ. But let be clear to you I do not say you can sin all the time, I say we sin with out even knowing it, the bible speaks of unintentional sin and this is what I am speaking about a lot of times. other times I am speaking about things like you just listed as your good works I would call that pride and a sin, but you seem to be ok with it listing them, I have never seen you respond to a person on Jesus talk for a pray request I would call that a sin because you are not loving your neighbor as your self but you seem ok with it, so we have a difference of what sinning is you seem to have a much easier way of looking at what sin is and is not then I do, perhaps I am to hard on my self or perhaps your not hard enough on yourself? I only seek the truth and do not claim to know everything so I am not claiming here to be the final authority I only stating what I believe

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

The bible speaks of unintentional sin often
everyone including falls short of loving his neighbor the way Jesus loved us IMO because who among us will lay there life down for there neighbor? to me it is a barometer to show us how far we have come when we become saved but also show us far we fall short to being like Christ, BAC will you lay your life down for me right now?? if not you have failed to love your neighbor as Jesus commands us for there is no greater Love then to lay your life down for another. Brother I do not make excuses to sin all we sin with out even realizing it IMO

Interesting that seems like the sinful easy way out if you ask me, I say this in a respectful way as I only seek the truth and know that may mean I may be incorrect at times, but to me loving my neighbor means that you are willing to lay your life down for them any thing short of that you have failed to obey Christ, so that is why I always say do we love our neighbor as ourself?? what you have listed I do all the time I make a effort to help the crippled the widows and orphans, but I see this as not enough because I doubt I would lay my life down for them but I really do not know. If I took your stance on what is loving your neighbor isI may become prideful because I have that covered very easily, my stance may help me remain humble. And I dont get whear not hating my neighbor is loving my neighbor?? that very easy not to hate my neighbor, I hope you are right on that

One thing I do really like about you BAC is you always back up your statements with scripture, not sure how the above scripture fits into not hating your neighbor is the same as loving them as yourself, but perhaps it will come to me because man that would be so easy and a burden would be lifted off my shoulders if that was true, I dont see yet though.

I wonder why you have never once (that I have seen) replied to pray request here on JT to me that is not loving our neighbor as yourself and sinful, are there different rules to how to treat our neighbor on cyber space then in real life?? like I said my standard of what is sin seems much higher then yours, yours seems very easy to me, I dont hate anyone so does that mean I love everyone as myself??

OK to me pride is what I have seen you do a number of times on here and list all the good works you do, I am guilty of this also, perhabs I am wrong and neither of us were prideful, I seem to think any praise at all of my self is prideful you seem to think its ok to praise your self.

BAC I always appreciate your thoughts on subjects and respect you deeply, I dont always agree with what you say but I often times learn from you, I hope I have not offended you in anyway here I only want to become a better Christian and seek a better understanding of God will for my life, and I believe conversations like this will help greatly. Thanks

not sure off the top of my head but since you asked I would guess that he did not.

  • As more than not you are way off-base again. I was referring to the statement that: People like me"say that you can sin all you want." I have continually told you that I do not say that nor have I heard that!!!
  • Now, the false accusations that I have said:"I can never stop sinning". "I will never be able to stop sinning"....I take your challenge to produce where I have said those things!!!!
  • But, I probably have said something to the fact, That I am a sinner...I do not sin on purpose and with out regard but, nevertheless, I am a sinner!

No apology required.....I was not challenging your spiritual birth....you could be what I have heard called "Cradle to Grave" Christian. The bottom line it is not what man thinks but God and, I think, the mystery should be real. Colossians 1:26-27

Greetings men,

another quick reminder,
this is a counselling thread and I ask you to consider if and how your posts here are of any help to the OP?

Bless you ....><>

Greetings all,

perhaps if someone could go through this thread and attempt to answer the OP with the info that has been raised in the last few posts? That might be a kind thing to do? Unless you think it is all fairly clear in consideration of the OP?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Bless you ....><>

ps... this post may be removed and possibly along with others. I shall await some replies.

I tried to find salvation from Jesus Christ our Lord but I think I am going to hell now after that didn't work out, any advice?

Yes find a good bible teaching church, join a fellowship group that studies the bible and serves the community and most importantly holds you accountable to being obedient to God. SEEK SEEK SEEK

Immerse yourself in the word of God daily listen to preachers study the word and fellowship with other Christians. How have you been lately??

Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you;seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened
