I don't anticipate climate change to lead to an outbreak of world peace. Mass migration from low-lying countries such as Bangladesh or hotter countries such as in subsaharan Africa and increased competition for water is likely to lead to more violence, not less.
What should we do?
- Take responsibility for the energy we consume individually
- Use whatever influence we have to put pressure on govts and big business to change
- Prepare to extend jesus centred hospitality and compassion to people driven from their livelihoods and homes.

i was not suggesting a little change with few extra wars, etc but a more major RED ALERT change where everything gets fairly fizzled and the powers that presently be, with their multitudes of loyal supporters and followers, are no longer 'powers'. Imagine no more television and no more twits on twittergram and everyone not needing to look in their digital book to see their snapped up face..... and people somehow getting along without the hype and delusion that the image of the beast has been given so much glory and wonder and attention with addictive force..... and all the crude dealers in oils and sonic powered ozone depleters... the inhumane traffickers and the lithium killers, the childs of wrath and the queen of heathen all being something that we happily forget.....
perhaps even men realising that their doodles don't do it and that is why they are no more and the women delighting in being who their babies make them....
hence my comments, if so be somewhat cryptic, about that which i wrote earlier [to which you were i part replying].
Perhaps, if the red nose alert did happen, folks might realise what a vain trip they have been on, or the few who are not butt burnt by it all might enjoy less fussing and fighting and sing about the glory of God in the Highest instead of "how great we ARE!!!"
Science would take a nice new turn to a better truth about life as they would have to reconsider a few fossilized theories.... lots of new ashes that ashes bring about in the hard core form... but, then again... they might say.."I told you so !!!" and be more pain-filled than they already are, trying to work God out in a test tube and genetically engineer His Creation, you, me and the other folk, included.

In some places water that is being drop by planes are "Evaporating" in the sky before touching fires, Water levels in the Seas are increasing and will continue at a rapid race. Others areas, a great increase of "DROUGHT", Even "SIBERIA" HAS GOTTEN HOT and melting away. No help in sight. FOOD, water, clothing, "A CODE RED TO HUMANITY"? ...........Most likely it is worst than what they are saying!
Last year, I did a "Thread" something is not right! I could sense it. And the WORLD "Scientists are saying it is NOT going to GET BETTER!
Factories are gone, replacement material are gone, Resources are gone. Governments are not in shape to help anyone! USA is in about 23.29 Trillions Dollars in DEBT and Greece went bankrupted a long time ago. Mostly everybody retired there in there 50's they ain't got no money. And covid had put everybody on "WELFARE"! Even Millionaires was getting covid welfare checks in the USA.
Does GOD has The Control over Climate Change or does Mankind, BUT Since GOD is SOVEREIGN, THE ALMIGHTY GOD, Then Who Rules and Commands The Climate
Now I am referring to The GOD that made "light and Darkness" He created not only The Universe but "Time" and "Eternity" and "Heaven" is just a "Temporary" place, that HE has made. Now WHO, controls and created, The Climate and The water you drink? (JOB 38)ESV Then the LORD answered Job...

Well, if it works out as you envisage, sweeping away trivia and vanity, then bring it on!
But I worry for the future of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world, a widening gap between rich and poor, and growing conflict. Sorry to be a glumster on the issue.
It seems to me there are two main issues here, the suffering and destruction that Climate change is causing now, , and will cause in the future, particularly to the poorest and Marginalised, and how God will judge those , who through their lifestyles and Consumption patterns , have caused this Suffering and Destruction.
What we are seeing now is just the first trickle of the flood to come, caused by just over1 degree C of Global warming, if current consumption patterns of Fossil Fuel consumption are maintained , and they show no signs of slowing down, CO2 levels in the atmosphere are higher now than they have been for the last 2 million years, then scientists are predicting a Global temperature rise of 3-5 degrees C by the end of the century.
It doesnt sound a lot till you consider that the last Ice Age, when ice covered much of the Northern Hemisphere hundreds of feet thick, was caused by a Global Cooling of around 3-4 degrees C. Turn that the other way and you are looking at a situation of Climate Meltdown and suffering and death on an almost unimaginable scale .
And we, those of us that live in the Rich and powerful countries of this World, who have built their wealth and Comfort on the burning of Fossil Fuels, are responsible. So just how do you think God will judge those who have brought his creation to destruction, and are we asking forgiveness for the Evil we've perpetrated?.

Hi Reba1, i'm not sure what "first warming trend" youre referring to, and does that matter, what matters surely are the causes of the present "warming trend", which if you believe the science, is Humanitys burning of Fossil Fuels, Anthropogenic Climate Change, and if you do believe that, then my question still stands, how will God view those who through their lifestyles have brought his creation to destruction, and are we, those responsible for this destruction and consequent suffering, changing our ways and asking for forgiveness for the many Evils we've perpetrated?,........ and yes, i do believe the Bible is the word of God, but i do struggle with many parts of it, especially parts of the OT, but that surely is another thread.

@Reba1 the climate has always been changing. The world was significantly warmer in age of dinosaurs (mesozoic age) due to higher levels of co2 in the atmosphere. That was not due to fossil fuel burning.
I don't see the immrdiate relevance to today's problem.
What point are you trying to make by asking this question? I hope it's not just to stir up confusion in the discussion.

So this whole thread misundertands who is sitting on his throne with his son on sitting on his right hand side. Forget about anything worldly and grasp onto Jesus. There is a harvest out there to collect. And what makes mankind so special that God allows man to sin to a huge amount and not go unpunished? Read the bible and see what happened to Israel when they went astray. Also note what Jesus said about the end times, with volcanoes, earthquakes and strange unpredictable weather. The world is temporary, always has been and always will be, so stop putting hope on the weather and environment improving, it never will.
