What does it mean to take every thought captive (2 Corinthians Chapter10 v5)?

Well sister,i am not afraid to say,I dont know. I have no idea.
But,i do not believe there are musical instuments in heaven. Lkie i donr believe there are horses in heaven.(those in revelation)
So u don't believe what is written? Or u don't believe animals will b there?? ... Do u not think YH loves all His creations n just destroys the animals cause He finds them of no use??

Wonder why it's written All creatures great n small..

Animals do not have souls. If they do,when we kill for food its murder.
No sister i do not believe animals go to heaven. But yes i do believe scripture.
I would also add,the scriptures were wrote for man,the gospel is not for animals,Christ did not die for animals, what sins do aninals commit and how do they repent.
Animals and plant life were created only to sustain this earthly body.
I dont believe there will be rocks in heaven either
Love ya

Ahh ok i dont believeYH would destroy whats obedientby nature n yet not destroy us.... Animals didn't need Yeshua to die for them for what have they done to the Almighty...

Can u tell.le where He tells us animals don't have souls??

A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal,
But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel

I cant see
I believe YH is merciful n good to all His creations

That's me tho

I honestly dont have an answer. I dont know

Isa 11:5; Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist.
Isa 11:6; And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them.
Isa 11:7; Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox.
Isa 11:8; The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den.
Isa 11:9; They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.

But when, where?

Isa 65:17; "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.
Isa 65:18; "But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing And her people for gladness.

Isa 65:19 "I will also rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people; And there will no longer be heard in her The voice of weeping and the sound of crying.
Isa 65:20 "No longer will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, Or an old man who does not live out his days; For the youth will die at the age of one hundred And the one who does not reach the age of one hundred Will be thought accursed.
Isa 65:21 "They will build houses and inhabit them; They will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
Isa 65:22 "They will not build and another inhabit, They will not plant and another eat; For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people, And My chosen ones will wear out the work of their hands.
Isa 65:23 "They will not labor in vain, Or bear children for calamity; For they are the offspring of those blessed by the LORD, And their descendants with them.
Isa 65:24 "It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.
Isa 65:25 "The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent's food. They will do no evil or harm in all My holy mountain," says the LORD.

I suspect this will be on the New Jerusalem or New earth, not the New Heaven, but it's hard to quantify it specifically.

But, this does have very little to do with taking every thought captive. :)

2Cor 10:3; For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
2Cor 10:4; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
2Cor 10:5; We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
2Cor 10:6; and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.
2Cor 10:7; You are looking at things as they are outwardly. If anyone is confident in himself that he is Christ's, let him consider this again within himself, that just as he is Christ's, so also are we.

To me, this is about your thoughts, where your mind is...
What do you spend your time thinking about? Sex, drugs, making money, or Jesus, God, and loving your neighbor?
It's a serious question, what do you spend most of your time thinking about?
Are you taking the wrong thoughts captive, and tossing them out the window, or are you holding on to them, spending time entertaining those thoughts?

Eph 4:17; Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord: You should no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thoughts.

Greetings,

perhaps tell us where it is written that animals do have souls?

Bless you ....><>
Not saying it is but YH talks about how one will lay with another He tells us how the angels or cherubs have a face of a bull is it.. but I don't assume YH destroys things that don't sin against Him just cause He finds them useless.. do u think YH is merciless like that too..

Greetings,

how do we know that man has a soul?

Bless you ....><>

and thank you for the reminder @B-A-C regarding the subject of the thread. I agree.
Perhaps part of taking thoughts captive is not letting them wander away with 'possibilities' ?

Truly my soul waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?.

But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

Word says so:eyes::eyes:

Greetings,

and then there is the first reference we are given:

But there went up a mist from the earth,
and watered the whole face of the ground
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:6+7

Is there an account of animals?

Greetings Brother,

To me, this is about your thoughts, where your mind is...
What do you spend your time thinking about? Sex, drugs, making money, or Jesus, God, and loving your neighbor?
It's a serious question, what do you spend most of your time thinking about?

then there are the thoughts of:

  • fear
  • anxiety
  • worry
  • resentment
  • hostility
  • unforgiveness
  • malice
  • envy
  • pride [inc. boasting]
  • lasciviousness
  • naughtiness,
  • mocking [inc. ridicule]
  • complaining
  • selfishness
  • hatred
  • callousness
  • unkindness
  • indifference
  • greed
  • impatience
  • lies [inc. deceit]
  • apathy

and then others that are the anti of mercy, gracefulness, longsuffering and all righteousness.

God is holy.... be ye therefore holy

Blessing to you and yours ....><>

No acct of a soul but they r living Spirits:)

Do Angels have a soul? I don't remember Eva hearing they do... Yet they worship YH in Spirit..

Has YH told You that He gonna destroy animal Spirits...

Do u think He just gonna throw them away like man does with people when they r thru or worthless to them??

I believe no man should say absolutely what YH will n won't do..

I believe that's the pride of man.. for we r told it's not what goes in that defiles us... It's what comes out...

Our words are our spirit n they can show what kind of Spirit One is...

Them wolves and lambs and tigers and bears wont be eating grass in heaven. I never read of a hay field in the descriptions of heaven anyway.
So it must be on earth this time speaks of . like 1000 year reign.

I will start the thread for discussion.

but as a very sound landmark and guideline...
So you can say wat YH is definitely doing with His creations??? :eyes: :eyes:

Cause if u do.. tell me when am I going home??..

He tell me His ways r not ours..

Am I misunderstanding wat ur saying perhaps?

Greetings,

the world if full enough with speculation and extra-Biblical deception in more forms and shapes than we could ever find out...

so we do not need to add to it.
Better stick with the accounts we have, that have been preserved for us by our Lord, in the Bible.

Quite often here on TalkJesus certain members go to great lengths to point out how evil the extra biblical material is and equally how bad the people who propogate it are. I think from memory you have always been in agreement?

Perhaps we sometimes forget that we should not add to it nor take from it?

One alluring mindset originated from a chap called Francis of Assisi back in the 1200's who wrote a song/poem which spoke of his ideas about animals and also the wind and water being akin to man. It has sen major push in more recent decades and many are quite convinced about the content.

I recall back some time, I'd step out of my tipi and talk to Brother Wind. Does that mean that is acceptable for Believers to promote?

Jesus is Lord

Bless you and yours ....><>
