What if you die tonight?

I joined this site hoping someone would be able to answer a few of my questions. One being, based on where you were born, that is the religion you would believe in. So, if christianity is correct, why did we get the golden ticket of being born in the right area so then we get the prize of heaven?
The "privalage" of being born in the " right " place has its price. This price, 1) that we are not above our created brothers and sisters in the world. 2 ) that we live as Stewards to all people of this earth 3 ) we need to pray for everyone, even the most wicked. Remember, no one is lost while they breath, and even then the lost are not trully lost until they have utterly rejected God. 4 ) Love is the Key

Becoming a follower of Christ is not a guarentee you are heaven bound, look at Judas

@John Smith -- no matter where a person is born -- in the slums of USA or the richest person -- Iran -- Hawaii-- Saudi Arabia -- no matter Where -- there is no Right or Wrong place to Be born. The prize of heaven is achieved by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He died on the cross with our sins, that He was buried and that He rose again bodily on the 3rd day. By accepting Him as our personal Savior. Belief in your heart and confession made by your mouth. Unto personal salvation.

Following Christ would be a norm for a born again believer.

@Bill -- What Would guarantee that a person is 'heaven bound'.

Doing the will of God

@Bill -- isn't it God's will that All should repent and come to know Him as their heavenly Father.

I hope you're not leaning towards a good-works based salvation.

What is required is a faith enduring based salvation as described in the scriptures.
One does not want to die tonight and be in a state of unfaithfulness.

What is more important, claiming Jesus is Lord, then being as Judas. Or doing what Jesus said " do the will of God "

Just as long as Scripture passages are not taken out of their intended contexts. Thus getting the passages to say things that they aren't intended to be saying.

I just want to point out that It is interesting that you are so concerned about intended contents at this point. As I recall a number of times where it didn't really matter before to you.

But I have also tried to say the intended contents is important to follow and the reason why using one liners is not really a great thing. So much is missed when doing so.

As for following the will of God versus just claiming or stating I am a Christian. There are many Catholics at the time of the Reformation, many Priests Bishop's Cardinals and even the Pope who stated that they were Christians or followers of Christ were only that in word. But did not follow the will of God.

I have to point out, not all catholics were of this mind set.

This is reoccuring today in all of Christendom, where many are stating they follow Christ, but neglect the will of God. As i have stated, i am a catholic. Or at least as one should be. To see with an open heart. To always be open to the will of God and to Love God with ever fiber of my being.

Faith alone is like a gong clanging in the wind ( the Apostle Paul )

A person's faith will be seen through their actions.

And actions speak louder than words.

@Bill -- as a RCC -- what do you base your salvation on?

All I'm suggesting is that there can be a fine line between good works needed For salvation and good works Because of our salvation.

Our daily living should be reflecting Jesus Christ living within us.

The very same person you do Sue.

I tell people all the time, " works " is the most misunderstood word in Scripture.

" works " is all about Christ working through us.

I KNOW YOU KNOW THIS SUE. All of Scripture has to come together. There is no single point that is left out. It is all One in Jesus.

So when we see " faith alone " then later see Paul stating " faith alone is like a gong clanging in the wind " Then we see " a man is justified by works, and not by faith only " Then we must take time to learn to understand God's purpose , and not our own.

Scripture states, " it is faith alone that brings us to our Salvation " . What is our Salvation? Our Salvation Is Jesus. So step 1 was faith bringing us to Jesus . Now comes step 2 , we have to accept Jesus into our hearts.

This is the only way Scripture makes any sense. Jesus says , " knock on the door " , this is our faith bringing us to Jesus.

But we must accept Jesus.

Jesus states, NO ONE can go to the Father but through me.

After Paul talks about faith alone being like a gong clanging in the wind, he goes on to tell us the greatest Gift is Love.

What is Love .... Love is God

The bottom line , when you recieve Jesus into your heart, you recieve Love

You are absolutely correct .

If you are helping others or giving to your church , thinking all the time " im getting back 7 x what i give " then you are barking up the wrong tree.

But if you are helping others and giving to your church out of compassion, a selfless act . It is then that God gives blessings.

The person that deems themself first will be last.

It is the humble of heart that God always seeks

@Bill -- okay , we're on the same page.

But that Also brings up the question -- since the RCC beliefs are so contrary to God's Word. This isn't meant to be argumentative, but........ well -- Why are you RCC?

The best explination i can give you, this is where God wants me.

The ministry God has me do, is not just for catholics, nor just for Protestants, it is for everyone. Just like the rain that falls.

Do you know, there are no Protestants or Catholics in Heaven. We are One family. Everyone in Heaven is of One family.

No titles in Heaven. In fact you will never even think of it. The thought, whether a person is catholic , Jewish Protestant or anything else, never occurs to those in Heaven

The fulness of his loving grace or a unknown remnant?.

" Works " is all about Christ working in us with us to both reveal and empower us . . not through us rather than through Him alone .He is not served by the hands of corrupted flesh and blood as if he needed something from the clay he forms Christ in

We work out freeing that given from the beginning of faith His grace working in us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

In that way the Bible says their must be differences in opinions or heresies among us that walk by faith after the eternal not seen not by what the eyes see the temporal below..

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

If you would follow the idea of serving a hierarchy of men (law of the fathers) then you must continue to wonder with no end of faith, the salvation of your soul . Wondering does not build confidence it simply produces more wondering. Which leads to doubt.

Catholiscim teaches that only this Queen of heaven which they have named Mary alone received the fullness of Christ grace the cost of salvation and others a unknown unknowable remnant of grace .And even after they take their last breath they must continue to wonder in a place of wonderment (purgatory) the limbo..

In that way there must be differences among us so that we do not deny the fullness of grace the light of the gospel

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
