Yeah, good thoughts, but the more I read the words of Yashua the more it sticks to me that the God Man was and is serious about forsaking everything, even our moms, children, and wives, and to love Him with the longing to be with Him, right now. We must not sin and commit suicide because we live for Him, imitating Him, until He cancels our ticket to go and carries us home/

and yet "For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:30 NKJV

I agree with not sinning, and committing suicide, but again how difficult to be in another's position in life, that such suffering and weight upon one's spirit sees the only option as the one that seeks to move on. This is not to say it's okay to do, but can one detail all instances that it would happen and not be forgiven? We are good for coming up with excuses are we not? Things that allow us to do as we please in our impairment, and not as He would want us to do by His Word.

So, true a word written by Sir Walter Scott that says "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when we first practice to deceive." The self-deception is worse than the one we tell others.

Since we follow Jesus, I wonder if you are correct then that He as our example must have forsaken everyone or everyone did forsake Him. This World is cruel, and the latter the more likely case, then the former. Yet, neither speaks to the totality of what actually happened upon that Cross or has been written upon the pages of the book we seek understanding of daily.

For me I am of the mind of Paul, though difficult to do in the trying circumstances we find ourselves in:

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord [is] at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7 NKJV

Though I appreciate the "cancels our ticket to go and carries us home", I truly see it as He is giving us the ticket, paid in full, that we at last may board that train to take us finally home. Till, then we await at the waystation pressing those we encounter to not be left behind.

I may not be as old as you "Old Brothers" are, but age is irrelevant to knowing that this is not our home, and the desire to be with our Lord and Savior trumps all our life experiences.
You may have also been even closer to death at other times, then you realize, but for the Grace of God, whose purpose for you was "not yet". So, it is now, for you, Bob, me, and many others, irrespective of age. It just becomes harder, because as you've said, we've lost, and continue to see loved ones go before us. Also, this body doesn't do what it used to be able to do, our mind gets a little foggy, and isn't as clear as it used to be. Still, though I'd rather be with our Lord now, I most assuredly believe it will be on His appointed time when our work is done, that He will call us home! Can't wait until we who have been but words across a screen get to Gloryland and rejoice together!

Actually the main cause of the messed up world we live in is sin. This be ame a sinful world when Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan and listened to him instead of God.
People have been gradually going farther and farther away from God's Word. It's up to the individual as to what they do with God's Word. Read it and believe what He says is the best option. ¿Up to a point? C4E, what I read is all or nothing if we endeavor tp "live for The Christ." I read the scriptures as being of one, emphasis on a single message and that being the Road Map to Eternal salvation.

Coming off my third tour of Combat, not the Computer Type, I spent one early morning awake from a nightmare I was sitting there much of that morning chewing on the barrel-tip of my .357 Ruger. Judge them that pull the trigger because they could not talk themselves out of doing it? That is above my pay-grade! Looking at the evidence left behind as in the case of my fifty year old son and concluding he likely went to Hell to await the Judgement that will send him into the Lake of Fire and using it to teach the lost is not THAT Judgment.

You completely missed the meaning of The LORD canceling my ticket to ride. I made a trip from Texas to Indiana and to board the train I handed the Agent my ticket and he punched a hole through it, rendering it useless, forever more... he canceled the ticket.

From what I can tell, our experiences in a certain way are not so far removed from each other: I grew up in a Spanish Culture (home), on the Streets of NYC English, Retired 20 yrs. Military, 18 yrs. Corrections.

But I do agree with you on our educational system. The left was smart in dedicating themselves to taking over Academia during/after the 60's, and the right never noticed till it was too late. Also, while the blood of young men who could have made a difference was being shed on foreign soil.

In my honest opinion, and I pray a humble one as well, our experiences count for little if we're not believers, and look at the World through the prism of Scripture. As well as making it part of our learning system. Removal of Bible, prayer, and any mention of Christian thought, except to the negative, has allowed the wolves to take over the minds of our children. Parents being asleep at the wheel and allowing for the rearing of their children by these systems are probably the greatest crime to them. One can say that the line "separation of church and state" was the biggest lie of them all and the dagger that few if any questioned as justification for all that followed to this day.

Anyway, let me get to the other post you sent me.

You also have those who think it being painful, leaves for a more leisurely passing. I can't help but believe or maybe just a hope that even as the darkness enfolds them, that at that time a moment of time, clarity comes to them and they seek His face, that our God would then reject them? If even by their own hand this happens, I still believe that our God is merciful, and will embrace them.

There is no sanity or rightmindedness, to trying to take one's life. You had nothing to do with giving it, so you shouldn't have anything to do with taking it. So, for those in Christ Jesus, know to carry the cross for a little while on this earth, cannot be compared to the Glory that awaits us. Sadly, the non-believer does not know this truth.

Some would say my words are naivety of life itself, or contrary to Scripture, but to the former maybe so, and to the latter I disagree. As a combat veteran you know that time seems to slow down at times, as if it's not moving at all, or race forward in a madness that lacks for words, it's gone so quickly as if it never happened. It's only in retrospect if the mind allows us to, that we know what we with all our heart would wish had never transpired did happen.

There have been times in my life I can feel/sense if by the Spirit I do not know, that the World is either moving quickly, slowly, or even in abeyance to the end of days. Yet it matters not, because it still moves forward to a conclusion, we as believers long for an ending to, for it brings us to Christ Jesus, but for those who do not know Him yet require the time. So, I wait, we wait, pulling guard/sentry duty I guess, till He either calls us Home, or He Returns!

I'd forgotten the punching of the train ticket! It's been a lot of years since I had to take a train from NYC to Long Island to visit my brother who was locked away in a mental institution and had a conductor moving down the aisles asking everyone for their ticket! (heavy sigh)

As lovely as that desire is: a body is required in order to be of service, and only at the resurrection will this mortal put on immortality, this corruption put on incorruption (1 Corinthians 15:50-58). Our life is hid with Christ in God awaiting His appearing (Colossians 3:3). He is our life. There is no life apart from Him.

GOD has myriads of angels, cherubim etc serving Him.
GOD wants servants here on Earth.
All the living Rapturees will watch as Earth is destroyed during Armageddon and will work with Jesus and the first fruits to cleanse Earth during the Millennium.
During the millennium the DNA of the fallen angels will surface here and there to birth the tares that will heed Satan's call to follow him as he lives his little season before they are totally destroyed and he is finally tossed in the lake of fire.
