This mark is alleged to be indelible, given through the sign of the cross on the subject's forehead by the right hand of the priest or bishop.

According to Revelation, the mark of the beast is "received" ... not forced upon people.

Actually, no, that is not what it is saying. Do you read Latin? It is referring to the indelible character (sometimes called "indelible mark" in English) left on the soul by the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and ordination. What this means theologically is that sacraments configure a person to Christ in a particular way. It has nothing to do with anything on the forehead nor is the word 'forehead' mentioned in any of that.

Babylon at the time that Revelation was written would have been known by the Jews as the great persecutor of their faith. At the time Revelation was written, the Christian people were being horribly persecuted by the Roman Empire, in particular Nero (who burned parts of Rome where he wanted to build palaces and gardens) and blamed it on the Christians. So, he burned them on crosses. The persecution lasted for almost 300 more years until Christianity was legalized.

Good point. I don't think anyone will get the mark on accident. I don't think it be forced upon you, in a manner of speaking.
Now you may get beheaded because you don't accept it ( Rev 20:4; ) but I don't believe anyone is going to hold you down and force it upon you.

Few there are that would agree with you. NO thanks to books like LEFT BEHIND, and others that try to scare people into "accepting Jesus". My very strong opinion is we "surrender to and become a follower of our Lord Jesus, because we are so relieved that our sins can be forgiven. The just say this prayer after me, only is a very small step, I am not too sure that is even a right place to begin,.... but maybe.
Unless there are people willing to teach and show these "learners" how to become a follower, many just are seeds that fall on rocky soil.

I was responding to a prior statement I totally agree with you... Even if I were to disagree with the beliefs of certain denominations I wouldn't put them down oe talk bad about them. I would

The mark in your forehead is the deception of anti Christ one has take in, believing anti christ is the true Christ. Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth (SHALL) worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Christ saying here that a whole lot of people are going to wosship anti christ thinking he was the true Christ.

One must be familiar with the Seven Seals, the Seven Trumps, and the Seven Vials. These are seven chronological steps of events that happen leading up to the appearance of anti christ. God goes over these events three times. Once in the Seals, once in the Trumps, and once in the Vials. All three times, anti christ shows up on the SIXTH SEAL, THE SIXTH TRUMP AND THE SIXTH VIAL. Nonetheless, I agree with you, to a point. I can't say there will not be a physical mark on the forehead or on the hand, but I believe the true mark takes place way before any physical mark might occur. If something or someone has its/his mark on our lives, it means that it/he has made an indelible impression on us, and has strongly influenced us in some manner. The mark, in this case, would be a characteristic trait rather than a physical mark. And, the forehead would represent our minds (thinking, beliefs, reasoning), and the hand would symbolize our deeds (actions, behaviors).

And, I agree this has very much to do with deception and being deceived. And, part of the deception, I believe, is to get people all worked up over a physical mark while getting them to ignore the characteristic traits of this beast that are strongly influencing their daily lives. The real danger here is not that we might get physically branded against our wills, but that we might get our minds branded by this beast because we are not walking in the Spirit but we are still following after the ways of the flesh. And, so we would open ourselves wide for deception.

Sue,glad to see we are on basically the same page of understanding on this mark of the beast. Anti christ couldnt fool anyone if he required a mark placed upon someone's forehead or in their hand. They would know that this is the wrong way to go. Anti christ is very sly and cunning. So sly he has a plan being taught in alot churches that will lead a great number of Christian's to worship him as the true Christ. These are good God fearing Christian's that love the Lord and may have spent their whole life in church but they haven't been taught that anti christ comes first portraying to be the true Christ and he wants everyone to kneel and worship him. Very big mistake if one does that, even if they do it in ignorance. There is no excuse for ignorance for not knowing God's plan, only failure. You won't be able to put it off on the preacher man,telling God, my preacher told me. No no, God said listen the the preacher man, then check him out in the WORD OF GOD.

This is a make or break decision that everyone will have to make, if one is still alive in these flesh bodies at the tribulation of anti christ and the tribulation of the true Christ. One of the highest honor a Christian can do

I know this is very controversial and I don't like hurting people's feelings but I don't like my bothers and sisters being deceived neither. This plan being taught that will lead a lot of Christian's to anti christ camp is the rapture. If the rapture was a true teaching, it should have been taught the last two thousand years, but it hasn't. From what I gather it has only been taught about the last 150 to 160 years. I know Christ returns to earth to gather his flock around him but it will be done in a exact chronological order that has been already set in stone. God knew that a rapture would be taught in this day and time, that's why in the book of Ezekiel 13:18-23 God is saying He is against those that teach His people to fly to save their souls. When God is against something, you sure don't want to be apart of it. The chronological steps up to the return of the true Christ are laid out in the, SEVEN SEALS, the SEVEN TRUMPS, and the SEVEN VIALS. We are now in the Fifth Seal, the Fifth Trump, and the Fifth Vial. What step comes next? That would be the Sixth seal, the Sixth Trump, and tha Sixth Vial. The Sixth seal, anti christ appears on earth, the Sixth Trump, anti Christ appears on earth, and the Sixth Vial, anti appears on earth. That's 666, count the number of the beast. On the Seventh seal, seventh Trump, and Seventh Vial, the true Christ appears on earth. These Seals, Trumps, and Vials are laid out in the book of Revelation by Jesus Christ, the worlds great bible scholar who walked the earth. Christ marveled the scholars of his time at the young age of twelve. They didn't realize that they were speaking to the living word. The great book of Revelation is a book that reveals many things. It very name means, to reveal, or make known.

Paul realized that He confused the people In I Thess 4:17 so He scribed ll Thess to clear things up. ll Thess 2:1-12. ll Thess 2:1 Now we beseech you brethren, by the coming of out Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2:2 that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, (NOR BY LETTER AS FROM US),as that the day of Christ is at hand. Nor by letter as from us, that was the book of l Thess.

There is a super natural event that occurs to flesh man upon the instant Christ touching down here on earth. Paul tells us about it in l Corinthians 15:51-55. All that are alive in the flesh bodies upon Christ returning to earth will be changed into the spiritual body. That's right, all,everyone. I didn't say that everyone overcame. Those who were worshipping anti christ, thinking he was the true Christ, are still endanger of loosing there souls if they don't get it right at by the end of the millennium.

So here is a sure fire way of telling or identifying the true Christ when He returns to earth. When you see a super natural being on stage claiming to be Christ and you can pinch yourself and you are still in the flesh body, he is not the true Christ.

Remember what Paul said, l Cor 15:51-52. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall no all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Here Paul says the last trump. What is the last trump? There are only seven trumps spoken of by Christ in Revelation. So the last trump must be the Seventh Trump. And this seventh trump is the trump that the true Christ appears here on earth. Not the Sixth trump, and this sixth trump is the trump that those who believe the rapture, are focusing on. Dont be fooled my friends. Daniel and all the gospels say anti christ comes before the true Christ.

We are told that about half of the Christians will follow anti christ, thinking he is the true Christ. Matt 24:39-40. Two in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE THE FIRST ONE TAKEN. For the first one taken is taken by anti christ. Open those eyes my friends cause the time is near.
