What is your favourite way to keep fit?

Yeah I have got soo off track that I am frustrated with myself bc I worked so hard to lose weight and 3x gained it again in the past 10 years! I lost 30 pounds last year and gained almost 1/2 back. I have got back into bad eating habits again. I don't want to be a super model, just healthy. Summer is not too far away, I really would like to have to get new summer clothes because last summers are too big! LOL!

My favorite way to stay fit is weight training, mostly. I try to integrate some yoga in there as well to keep my flexibility up. In the summer, swimming is wonderful but not always convenient. I'm not the biggest fan of cardio so unless it's summer and I can ride my bike, it doesn't usually happen haha.

Hi there, I would be careful with yoga my friend, because it is not as innocent exercise as many think. Yoga is one of the biggest cornerstones to Hinduism, and the exact meaning of the word yoga means: ''to yoke'' and this in reverence to the hindu god brahmin. The stretches and poses are specific, because they're actually a form of worshiping the hindu god's.

Meditation and yoga have been re-packaged for the western world as new-age techniques to find peace and enlightenment. This has been going on from roughly the 1960's, when society was becoming much more open to different spiritual and cultural practices. Also, widespread beliefs in reincarnation are gaining ground now too, unfortunately.

I just thought I should tell you about this or else my conscience would eat me away. You can google: yoga origins and hinduism if you want too and it will go into far more detail.

God bless you!

Thanks, I am aware of that. I've studied the origins of yoga and have spoken to God about it.

Stretching is just stretching when you have Jesus in your heart.

Weight watchers. Lost weight 5 yrs.ago a haven't gained it back yet. It is just learning to eat right.

I think eating right is my big thing that I need to be able to do long term.

Eating right is the #1 factor in your weight gain and weight loss.

Other crucial factors are:
- sleep
- drink plenty of water each day, at least 6-8 cups
- lifestyle (stress level, exercise)

1 tim 4:8 is my answer. LOL The question I guess is what is more inportant for us to exercise in?? Our Spirit and mind,or our body? I remember my training days for the service,it was tough because were going to be in a tough environment. Now training in the Lord,is even tougher!! LOl For the effect of this training is called to last not only here, but also in the life to come. Blessing all!

I've struggled with weight my entire life. I bought a treadmill 3 weeks ago. I have been using it 5 times a week. I started out walking 2 miles and now I'm up to 3 1/2 miles. I walk while I'm watching tv. It is easier for me to stick with it if I watch tv.

Taking the good care of your body is most important factor in your life.
Health and body care is the most important thing in a persons life.
It is the biggest personal property. Health diet will provide lots of thing which is really very helpful to our body. Some times I would suggest that you try out other meals too.

I really enjoy running that's my fav but I'm also on a sand volleyball team. We play once a week and practice several times thru out the week. Playing sports is a fun way to exercise :-)

Studying, thinking, riding the lawn-rider, and Wii-sports. Unfortinatly, my room is going into a kind of slight renovations on some of the walls, and I won't have enough room to properly use the Wii until that's finished. I also like weapons training, but lack of materials, (Both weapons and targets), As well as the summer heat, is causing a bit of a drag on that kind of exercise.

Just imagine if there were no fish, meat and eggs in the supermarket, not even nuts like peanuts and almonds or even milk, you had to find something there to get your protein, calcium and omega 3 fats. Turns out that cheese and high fibre fresh bread is the winner along with your favorite non-fruit vegetables or even icecream that has calcium. Calcium has caused so much concern for me when it comes to bone strength, and if there's not enough calcium then I imagine that the body would act like pirates to destroy healthy cells from vital organs to steal the calcium atoms - where all sorts of pain from different body parts are caused from this pirate attack on cells .;*;.

Hi,

I was wondering how my brothers and sisters out their keep themselves fit and the benefits that are derived from their favourite activities.

I have been inspired by the weightlifting thread to go out jogging tonight. The sun is shining so why not? :shade: I just jogged to the local park and back. The main benefit was that I killed two birds with one stone as my son rode next to me on his bike. While he played on the swings and climbing frame I collapsed and recovered enough to make the journey back home!

Let's just say I had no idea how fast my 5 year old could go on his bike!

I also do my badminton once a week at the Methodist church and when I am at work in the shop I'm up and down ladders and running back and forth to get things for people.

I plan to buy some inline skates soon and do some skating too. If I had a ski facility nearby I would love to do cross country skiing. I used to play ice-hockey until my early twenties (mainly to keep fit) so I figure how different could it be!!!

I'm always on the look out to try something new so it would be good to hear about peoples favourite or recommended fitness activities/sports etc. to help maintain the temple!

God Bless

 Eve

I tend to try to keep fit through walking everywhere (I live in Durham, many hills!) and through the occasional energetic run! I do also love skating ^^

Weight lifting is probably my personal favorite. Having back issues, I've found stretching and yoga to be helpful as well. Aside from walking or swimming, cardio is not my favorite activity
