It is because of new teaching that has been evolving over these past 30 years.
The evolved teaching is that when Jesus died on the cross he wiped out all sins you commit, past, present and future.
This is one of many false teachings
If you think about it, it is saying, a person can accept Jesus, then rape a person and still be forgiven. Hog wash!!!
Accepting Jesus as Lord means all the sin to that point have been forgiven, now you need to work on being perfect before God.
Repentence of sin is an ongoing process, just like learning to grow in God is an ongoing process
This isn't true brother.
A person going to rape someone later, didn't receive the Lord to begin with.
We are to come into obedience and will before He ever allows us to come to a complete repentance and be baptized with His baptism.
Jesus will not die for us, but once.
We either earnestly died in Him on the cross, or we didn't.
He knows who belongs to Him.
Heb 6:4-8
And check out about wilfull sin in Heb 10:26-31
When he receives us, we are forgiven.
We are already in obedience and walking righteous or He would not receive us, yet.
We are dead in Him, by Him, for Him, or we're not.
Many fall at the cross but to no avail, and fall away.
There is indeed a spiritual baptism and manifestation that takes place when the Holy Ghost moves in.
He moves in to a person walking in righteous obedience already.
Then we start training and preaching almost immediately, because the Spirit is feeding us without fail.
The letters on the page are just alive as He is in our heart.
I am not a sinner anymore, Christ already took those, I am now a debtor to the cross if I step out of line.
The old man has died, or it has not.
Immediate, in an instant, manifestation happens.
If you can't receive this it's because you not there yet.
I saw a lot, had visions, spiritual dreams, heard his voice audible and within, before spiritual manifestation took place.
But I walked obedience to the Word of God.
He doesn't give passage to one who has not earnestly seeked Him, His kingdom.
Praise God, I don't.
Getting saved and being forgiven is not a passage to go sin.
That's in the word as well. And very foolish.
God first always.
