Yet another false teacher

Since his site claims to be Tritarian, believes in the inspiration of the Scriptures, the resurrection etc I dont see how he could be in the employ of the Enemy, But I certainly agree with the article's conclusion: Given Wommack’s blatant use of Word of Faith theology, we do not recommend his ministry.

The series by Andrew Wommack is the entire reason I changed over to the Word of Faith church that taught it.

I don't know about Andrew Wommack, I've never heard of him before. But I did read the article.

It has a few items that I disagree with, for example one of them is...

Although Christians are encouraged to financially support the ministries of the church they attend, there is nothing in Scripture that guarantees a financial return for our donations.

Nothing in scripture?

Mal 3:10; "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
Mal 3:11; "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the LORD of hosts.
Mal 3:12; "All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land," says the LORD of hosts.

Now I believe this has to be done with the right heart. If the sole reason you're doing this is financial gain... then God probably isn't going to bless you.

. It is also worth noting that Mark 16:17 is not found in earlier and more reliable New Testament manuscripts, so this passage is very shaky ground upon which to establish a teaching that all Christians speak in tongues. Moreover, the spectacular signs in Mark 16:17 were wonders associated with the Apostles but one need not presume they are to be normative for all believers

Mark 16:17 IS found in most of the earliest manuscripts. This is either a deliberate mis-statement or an out-and-out lie. Also Jesus doesn't say these signs will follow the apostles, it says they will follow all believers.
Further it contradicts itself by saying...

Jesus never made any absurd prohibition against praying for the sick; however, James, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, writes, “Is anyone sick among you? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14, NASB).

it OK to pray for the sick that they might be healed, but yet...

Mark 16:17 were wonders associated with the Apostles but one need not presume they are to be normative for all believers

Mark 16:17 says we can lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Why would this not be for all believers?

The article has a few other issues as well.

I know there's hospital full of sick folks in your town , how many did you heal today ?

I don't think everyone has that sort of faith for that to happen. Jesus couldn't do many miracles in his home town because of lack of faith. It is very important.

Many people were raised from the dead, by Christ the apostles and the 70, not ONE could demonstrate faith , positively or negatively .

Since you don't think everyone has that sort of faith for that to happen Im curious how you respond to B-A_C's question: 16:17 says we can lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Why would this not be for all believers?

Well, I mean not everyone activates their faith for this to happen. Everyone is given the same measure of faith, but people do not believe in divine healing, so it can't work for everyone. They much rather believe that they have to go through a doctor and God heals that way. That is okay, but God can heal however He wants to. People just hinder what He wants to do. Some think it is God's will for people to get sick when there is this curse in the world called sin. Sin brought the curse of sickness and death into the world.

Be very careful with propserity theology, It is a false doctrine designed to deceive people into following the world and its desires. And the healing of people stopped once the 12 apostles left the scene and scripture was available to all. We now have as gifts the bible, the holy spirit, prayer and a one on one relationship with Jesus. This is called the new convenant or the new Testament. Laying hands etc are merely circus performances peformed by the devil or outright deception. How many people are wandering the earth with one leg or arm to short? Many it seems by these Pentecostals.

So this is why Word of Faith folks never go to hospitals and render healings, right ? Blaming the victim makes for a broad safety net.

No need to get nasty. That isn't how it is.

People are so quick to blame God and not look at themselves or the enemy for sickness and trials. If you overeat and get diabetes, that is not God's fault. Just because healing doesn't happen for a ton of people in the hospital, doesn't mean it can't happen. If you have preconceived notions it can't, faith has to come before a miracle can happen. It can happen as a sign for unbelievers, but for believers? Why do believers trust Jesus to give them eternal life and not trust Him with a common cold to heal quicker then average? There is power in your words and in your thoughts. It is why people need to stay in the Word and renew their thoughts. Y'all have a Happy New Year.

What did anyone who has been raised from the dead to show faith for that miracle ?

I didnt make such a claim however you jumped right back to blaming the victim. . If you have preconceived notions it can't, faith has to come before a miracle can happen

Jesus went to the villages and cities precisely because of the concentration of people, there were no hospitals at the time, WoF folks have a great advantage , yet it never works out . I'll bet a weeks pay that you cant find a hospital in which someone is NOT praying for healing.

your quote and question:
Why do believers trust Jesus to give them eternal life and not trust Him with a common cold to heal quicker then average?
Answer:
Jesus did not come to earth to heal people, Those healings is what the "holy Scriptures" calls "signs and wonder" so the people would believe HIS messages about "Salvation" Eternal life. Jesus came to save us from hell giving us "ETERNAL LIFE". The purpose for healing was so they would believe his message concerning who He was, when He walked the EARTH, and believe His Messages. concerning "hell" the lake of FIRE and demons, and devils. and "Adoption" into The Family of GOD. He did not come to heal people. He did not do "Miracles" he did "signs and wonders". to prove who he was and his messages is "Authoritative" and the prophecy. And they still did not believe who he was. :pensive:

The reason why many believe the opposite is because many "Institutional churches" has taught many such. and Branded many minds and souls like a hot branding iron.
This stuff is in plain sight in the Bible that you have in your hand and on your table in your house.

if people would put all their trust in The Word of GOD and none in the Institutionalize church they would know this. plainly. because GOD will not share His Glory with another.

Now i ain't going say anything more about it. you have been told. "There is only one GOD and HIM shall you worship only.l And you should eliminate the world church from vocabulary and Replace it with The word "GOD" and serve HIM only. For you have no other allegiance but to HIM and HIM Only:pensive:

But you choose. You cannot serve two Gods.

Isaiah 29:13
Therefore the Lord said: "These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is but rules taught by men.:pensive:

--You are right, the dead didn't have to believe. I am sure they did afterwards. :) But someone did believe for them to be raised. Faith was required somewhere.

-edit- I had to read that back. Victim of what though? Victim of God? God does not make people sick. It is either the enemy or it is something on our part.

-- and this is true. But take the paralyzed man being lowered through the roof by his four friends. How many were in line to see Jesus? Yet this man got his miracle. Why do you think that is?

Luke 5:20-25

20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.

- I may not know everything there is to know or have great words to debate. I really don't want to debate or care about it. It really doesn't matter all that much to me who believes what inside the Christian faith. But I know healings and miracles take place more in an atmosphere of faith then outside of one. Somewhere someone has to believe for anything like this to happen, because if it does not, it is not done in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

I think we somewhat agree, but I don't believe these things have ceased. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8

I also believe that healing is for Christians today as well. Because Jehovah Rapha is the God who Heals us.

Psalm 103:3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.

-- and this is true. But take the paralyzed man being lowered through the roof by his four friends. How many were in line to see Jesus? Yet this man got his miracle. Why do you think that is?

In all of eternity Jesus allowed just over three years for His in person ministry to Israel. This was the time of their visitation specifically a time for signs and wonders. Much like the wilderness was a time for pillars of fire and manna. Blessings are always two sided. the man was healed instantly , the canker of hate grew in the Pharisee and at judgement what he saw will be part of his condemnation. In Egypt the people had faith enough to follow Moses and paint their door posts. They didnt have enough faith to pack lunch for the journey. You might remember that they lived in daily sight of the supernatural, even as they clamored for the onions of Egypt. The point ?
Jesus says 45Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, in whom you have put your hope. 46If you had believed Moses, you would believe Me, because he wrote about Me. 47But since you do not believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?

They were condemned not because they denied His miracles but they failed to believe ,,, what was written.
On that both the written word and the miracles add to their judgement.

To bring it closer, we affirm the birth of Christ of a virgin, we dont have a star , or angels telling us, we look back to what is written.

But I know healings and miracles take place more in an atmosphere of faith then outside of one.

Well I know that folks who want to see healings are far more likely to offer the benefit of doubt in affirmation . Or if they decide they are under spiritual attack they will see things that confirm the negative. Its just the other side of the coin. However if you really believe healings and miracles take place more in an atmosphere of faith then outside of one. Then gather your like minded friends and surround the local hospital and prove it.

Be that as it may the purpose of signs and wonders was to confirm the gospel that was being proclaimed. The Gospel that now we have in written form.

And that would be absolutely cool to do so. I just think the hospital would fill up again. I think the greater thing to do is to tell people about Jesus. Because whether we agree with healing on earth or not, we all are going to be healed in Heaven as saved believers in Jesus Christ.

I tell you this. My husband and I were at a healing service at our church and his knees were healed. He grew up really fast, where his ligaments in his knees didn't grow with him. They always caused him a lot of pain and now he is completely healed of it. He doesn't even believe in this sort of stuff. But he was healed. I know God heals.

And they drank all the wine at Cana ,,,, so ? If the hospital refills wouldnt that just add to God's glory to empty it again ? It would be a fantastic opportunity, or are you less than confident ? What percentage of possible success would get you to the hospital? Of course doing this need have no detrimental effect on your evangelism , that would go on at the same time , right ?

That God heals is never in question. We have no doubt God supplied the manna, but He hasnt been parting waters much in recent history.

Because miracles are meant for the unbelievers. Doesn't mean we shouldn't believe for them.

And if you pray for family and friends, you don't want to pray for them to be healed halfway or a week down the road. I didn't realize this was how I prayed, but how I was thinking when I prayed "Your will be done, Father."

Well, is it God's will to heal? Shouldn't we be specific as to what we desire in prayer? We are to come boldly before Him, correct? Is there anything wrong in praying for God to completely heal someone?
