Does God love everyone?

Matthew 5:43-48 (NKJV)
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Luke 6:27-31 (NKJV)
27 "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
29 To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.
30 Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
Matt 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. We are ''perfect'' when we love our enemies. Just as God is perfect when He loves His. Amen! Thanks for sharing Brother Paul.

We....know......He......destroys.....the......wicked

are you saying that the wicked will cease to exist?? because scripture says different

Revelation 20:10
And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Revelation 14:11
And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.

will be tormented day and night forever and ever. and how about this, do you just over look it, writ it off,
I don't write off any scripture.

If I said Mother Theresa placed her attacker in torment for ten days what would you imagine they were going through?

If I said Nero placed his attacker in torment for ten days what would you imagine they were going through?

It seems to me that you and BAC ignore all scripture defining God and as such arrive at heretical / the worst possible assumptions of God (He is hateful) and how He will treat the wicked in hell (torture in fire).

will be tormented day and night forever and ever

please explain to me what this scripture means to you?? because you are the one saying God does not torment people, yet this scripture says the opposite

will be tormented day and night forever and ever
please explain to me what this scripture means to you?? because you are the one saying God does not torment people, yet this scripture says the opposite

Torment is not torture just as displeased is not hate.

We know torture from what takes place. We know hate from the signs of hate.

The torment of those in hell is explained in Luke 13:27 and Luke 13:28. Namely, they are cast out and surrounded by evildoers. This separation and daily reality is torment. This is not God torturing them. This is what they asked for. They chose evil, God is not going to place a victim with them.

If you don't think this is torment, you have not thought long enough about it. Right now, life is pleasant. There are many pleasantries for the wicked. There are innocent little kids, animals and good people that make their lives pleasant. Remove this and you have hell. Have you ever watched prison shows?

I believe God will do as well or better then the Geneva convention. So those in hell for eternity will have many pleasantries. But, it will always be a torment because of the reality of Luke 13:27-28.

have a good night King J I will be praying for you.

here is a good video check it out if you get a chance

So lets look closely at God's punishment. You mentioned:

Pharaoh's army was wiped out in the Red Sea
Sodom and Gomorrah
Great flood

Drowning is a quick death. As to is being burnt alive. God gave the wicked ample time to repent and only when they were clearly sold out to wickedness, did His '''terrifying'' wrath of a quick death come upon them.

Don't get me wrong, it is terrifying to die. But it would more terrifying to be handed over to someone like Nero, as opposed to God. Nero is hateful. He would put Christians on pikes and set them on fire to provide light for his banquets. They would burn slowly over a few hours. Pretty much like a brazen bull. IE torture! Nero is not righteous in all his ways. God is! Psalm 145:17.

Greetings brother

You are looking at worldly situations again and judging them in your own knowledge.

In the OT God judged the wicked with water, all three items above show this.

But a time is coming when God will judge with Fire.

In earthly terms one could say fire kills the human as fast as water. In basic terms, water enters the body cutting oxygen supply and the brain switches off the body. Fire acts a similar way, smoke cuts off the oxygen supply to the body and the brain switches off the body. If the fire is an intense flame, oxygen will be cut off but the brain will switch the body off even quicker.

Isaiah 66:16 (NKJV)
16 For by fire and by His sword The LORD will judge all flesh; And the slain of the LORD shall be many.

1 Corinthians 3:13 (NKJV)
13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is.

Hebrews 10:26-31 (NKJV)
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people."
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

2 Peter 3:10 (NKJV)
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

God has given His Word, ahead of time, He doesn't want any to be lost, but the hard hearted, wicked, sinful, will pay the price for their sin, and it will be by fire. Scripture has a lot to say about fire, but the fire after judgement is very clear.

Matthew 25:44-46 (NKJV)
44 Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'
45 Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

The fire will be 'everlasting punishment' for the wicked, but the righteous, those who have accepted Jesus and practiced righteous will go into eternal life, on the new earth, with the New Jerusalem, the Holy City, with our Lord who will be the light 24 hours a day.

For the wicked eternal punishment, by fire, the saved to eternal life, in the light, with Jesus the Light of the World, the Light in the Holy City, the New Jerusalem.

We all have a choice, we are all given time, until our last breath on earth, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Look at things from The Word brother, not from worldly comparisons. Why did God give us His Word? So we know the Truth, we will understand His Will for mankind, He has lovingly allowed for those adopted into His family, and even warned those who are saved who continue in repetitive sin. But He has also lovingly said, I do not want any to be lost, I want all to be Saved, my Son died for the sins of All, He paid the price for your sins, so you don't have to. But due to the increase in wickedness in the world He had no option but confirm what must happen to the wicked, the sinners, the lost souls, who reject the Free Gift of Salvation.

Why does He tells us clearly what He wants us to do in verses like these?

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Because He loves us and tells us that is exactly what He wants us to do. Don't compare with worldly, fleshy, examples or comparisons.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Peace be with you brother.

Matt 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. We are ''perfect'' when we love our enemies. Just as God is perfect when He loves His. Amen! Thanks for sharing Brother Paul.

Perfect is a hard tablet to swallow, we know we sin, if we sin we cannot be perfect. Be we can repent and be made clean again, which helps make us perfect, doing God's will makes us perfect in His Sight. I think that is the meaning here, to be perfect as He is perfect is doing the will of God. We are made perfect in His Sight, by doing His will. This is, I feel, the same as practicing righteousness, we are to be righteous as He is righteous, scriptures tell us to practice righteousness. This was discussed on here recently.

Some saved souls say I am a sinner, but our sins are wiped clean the second we repent. believe and are born again. We will sin again so understandably some believe they are sinners, but I feel we are not sinners unless we commit repetitive sins after accepting the Lord. We are practicing righteousness, practicing being the key word to righteousness. Therefore you shall be 'perfect' as your Father is perfect. Shall be not you are, so in effect practicing being perfect, practicing being righteous.

Interesting topic I feel brother.

Bless you

Ermmm, read the following brother.

Revelation 20:10-15 (NKJV)
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened.
And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.
And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.
And they were judged, each one according to his works.

14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

There are 18 verses referring to the 'lake of fire'
6 are in Revelation
4 in the OT
8 in the NT (not including Revelation)

The time is coming, the hour is coming...

John 5:28-29 (NKJV)
28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29 and come forth--those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

The discussion feels, to me, a little to fleshy. Let me float the following for discussion...

When a person dies, lost or saved the body goes to the grave, Shoel, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, where man was created from.

When a person dies, in this life, the first death...
The lost spirit and soul, go to Hades
The saved spirit and soul go to the Current Heaven

All are raised...
The lost to the Great White Throne Judgement
The saved to Jesus, who will judge us for what we have done for God, for Jesus whilst here on earth.

The lost will be thrown into the lake of fire, eternal damnation, where there will be crying and weeping and knashing of teeth.
The saved will be with the Lord on the New Earth, in the New Jerusalem, the Holy City, there will be no need for light as the Lord is the Light, and will provide light 24 hours a day.

I feel there are three elements to consider here (other than fire),
the raised body, the soul and the spirit of each, the lost and the saved.

King you point of view reminds me of the way the devil tempted eve to eat of the fruit.
It seems to me that you and BAC ignore all scripture defining God and as such arrive at heretical / the worst possible assumptions of God (He is hateful) and how He will treat the wicked in hell (torture in fire).

Jesus says it would be better to go through life as a lame person missing eyes, he says pluck your own eye out if it makes you sin because that pain is nothing compared to being thrown in Hell fire. I remember in my days as a catholic the priest would actually use this as a example of the bible not being literal, and almost poking fun at it. And even then before I was saved I thought they are crazy this is Gods word. I rememebr the day the priest was claiming not to take this passage literal or to serious, he was also trying to lead us AWAY from reading scripture.

Matthew 18 7-9
7Woe to the world for the causes of sin. These stumbling blocks must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!
8If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than to have two hands and two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire.
9And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
a

"Gouge your eye" out is better the going to hell of fire, what a comparison from Jesus, Jesus paints a very very painful place of hell fire.

Greetings all,

I think you might find a bit more in this reply, by amadeus2 @amadeus2 , than you first picked up [if you read it?]
remember also to not lean too heavily on your own understanding as it can often blur ones vision

Bless you ....><>

Perhaps very simply God loves life and hates death. Everyone born of woman has a little bit of life [John 1:9] and so God loves them while hating all of the death in them [the second part being by far the largest. If and when a person increases the Life that he has by embracing the Son [Jesus] then God will love him all the more: "He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

On the other hand, when a person puts out that little bit of light [the candle of the Lord or the spirit of man] with which he started as Esau did when he rejected that which was his as the 1st born son. So then what would be left to love?

"For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath." Matt 13:12 [What is taken away is that little bit of light as per John 1:9 that not enough for salvation, but is necessary to see where salvation is.]

That little light from natural birth is also seen here:

"The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly." Prov 20:27

And here we see how it may be put out by wickedness:

"For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out." Prov 24:20

But a virtuous person, one who loves God should keep their light lit:

"She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night." Prov 31:1

Before we meet Jesus our light is too little to do anything but find the greater Light...

"As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." John 9:5

But the time may come for someone who works while it is day so that Jesus may say of us and to us:

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." Matt 5:14

So then does not God love every one who still has at least that little light, the candle of the Lord with which each of us begins before we even know God and His Son?

Fine. They will be "just" be "tormented" forever. I'm sure that is much more pleasant.
Yes it is.

Let's try an experiment. You go place your hand on a hot stove for a week. I will send my wife oversees and pine for her for a week. Then let us continue this discussion.

"Gouge your eye" out is better the going to hell of fire, what a comparison from Jesus, Jesus paints a very very painful place of hell fire.

God speaks from His vantage point. Nothing can compare to what God has planned for those that love Him 1 Cor 2:9. That is the position of the speaker in those verses. Please meditate on that fact.

Take for example when God spoke of earth and death to Adam and Eve in Gen 3. 'Adam you will toil the soil. Eve you will have pain in child birth'.

Oh and Adam, by the way one-day someone will invent Dunkin doughnuts. Eve, one-day you will be able to have a caeserean. These are truths that were not communicated by God. Can we agree on that? Dunkin doughnuts exist. Fact.

Now God did not lie or dramatise earth. He spoke truthfully from His vantage point. God got straight to the point on what would be uncomfortable for them. As He does on hell. I love the way God and Jesus speak. This is not to say we now know and grasp the A-Z of a life in hell off of those verses. We can brainstorm as to what will take place in hell with a high degree of accuracy just from better grasping all the scriptures that define the Creator of hell.

There are separations right now among fallen angels. God has place the more wicked angels in cells in Hades and given the not so wicked ones privileges, like roaming earth. Fact.

here is a good video check it out if you get a chance

Is there something mentioned in this video that you want to discuss?

I agree with some statements and disagree with others. Basically you can't just read a passage and take it ''as is''. There is always context to consider. Cherry picking is what the devil did with scripture when He tempted Jesus in Matt 4.

Yes he does. He can only love as He is love 1 John 4:8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. Please meditate on this verse.

I utterly disagree with your OP.

We know God is love because He is kind, patient, caring, long-suffering, good, righteous, just. Because He tells us to love even our enemies Matt 5:44.

Now in our vocabulary we know someone is hateful because they show the signs of hate. Which are harassment, unkind words, bully, torture, racist, partial. God is NONE of these!

We have the word wrong. Hate in scripture only means ''displeased''.

You leave the door wide open for the reader to assume the absolute worst about God. Please don't do that.

If I said Mother Theresa hated someone, everyone would conclude she was merely very displeased with said person. Not that she would now as Sadam Hussein did when he hated the Kurds, gas the woman and children and watch them die slowly over a week.

Please better clarify yourself and stop painting God as the devil or a mix of good and evil. God has not got a dark side. He is light with NO darkness in Him at all 1 John 1:5. Hate as we know it, is wicked.

God is love, He loves all mankind, He is our creator. What creator doesn't love his work?

But God 'Hates' SIN. He loves the life/lives He has created, but He hates death. The wages of sin is death, eternal death.

God hates 'Evil' Sin is evil is God's eyes.

God 'Hates'

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

16 These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

Scripture clearly tells us what God Hates! All of which can be classified in one group, SIN.

God 'Hates' SIN.

Hell is the place for sinners who have not repented, hell is the place of sinners who have not accepted Jesus.

God is LOVE, He doesn't want any to be lost, He gives us time to come to Him, because God is Love, He gives us until our last breath on earth, because God is Love.

All those who come to God through Jesus, with a repentant heart, will be like the corn, they we enter His barn, they will enter The New Jerusalem. But the Wicked, the unbelievers, those who have, gone all through this life, and not repented, not accepted the Gift of Salvation will be like the chaff, which is burned, they will following judgement, pay the price for their sins, the wages of sin being death, they will be thrown into the lake of fire and will suffer for all eternity.

God is Love.

Those who do not accept the gift of Salvation, made their own choice, it was not God's choice, He wants all to be saved, He so Loved the World (the people He created) that He sent His one and only son, to die on the cross, to shed His blood, to die for the Salvation of all who will accept Him, accept Jesus and repent of the thing God hates, Sin. God is Love.

But the lost souls love the world and sin more than God, they condemn themselves. John 3:18-21

Hosea 10:12-13 (NKJV)
12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
13 You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men.

They reap what they sow.
All who sow into sin, live in sin, the wages of sin is death

Proverbs 11:18-20 (NKJV)
18 The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.
19 As righteousness leads to life, So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in their ways are His delight.

All who sow into Christ and practice righteousness, shall have a sure reward, because God is Love.

Galatians 6:7-10 (NKJV)
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Because... God is Love.

Please meditate on these verses.
