Does God Love The Non-Elect?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish ,but Have everlasting life.

That promise is to every living soul ever born.

To be the elect, as you said, all you have to do is come to Christ, believing.
Walk through that door, and there is a place set at the table of God
with your name on it.
Not all will walk through that door, but the invitation is there for all.

Simply personal choice.....

God is not willing that any should perish, it is a choice each one makes
from his/hers free will.

God loves all people equally. The issue of elect/non-elect, in my opinion, is based on the choices people make regarding diligently seeking spiritual truth (see Heb 11:6)

Since this is not strictly a young peoples' issue, I'm going to move this thread to the Ethics & Morality forum .

Who makes a person non elect?

God calls (or elects) by foreknowledge of our choices, who will open their heart to Christ and who chooses to reject the love of God.

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Agreed my brother- God so loved the World, He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
It is the very nature of God to love as He is Love. He has joy in restoring the broken and to seek and save that which is lost.

Mat 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

God preordained, for his own glory and the display of His attributes of mercy and justice, a part of the human race, without any merit of their own, to eternal salvation, and another part, in just punishment of their sin, to eternal damnation. - John Calvin

it is not through personal choice that we are saved. god calls us to him. if god calls someone they have no choice but to answer. also a per who is not called will not show any interest in the lord. now to the question does god love the non elect. and when i say non elect i mean those his has not called and therefor will perish. i think that he doesn't love them. i say this because if he did love them he would save them all.

What I understand you to say is a false teaching.
That some are chosen to be saved, and some chosen to perish?
correct me if I am not understanding you, please.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish but have, everlasting life.
Whosoever is a choice......from before creation God knew he would have to die for mankind, and he died for all.
All you have to do to be an elect is choose to come to Christ. The door is open to whosoever will.
In Gods foreknowledge he also knows who will not, but this day, you have a choice, a free choice. God will not deny anyone who comes to him ,in faith believing.
To say otherwise is to say ,I have no choice, I am doomed to hell whether I want to go there or not. That sir is a lie, straight from hell itself.
Yes, I'm blunt, but don't tell me anything different for Gods word says he is not willing that any should perish. He paid the price for the sin of the whole world, not just a chosen few.
Choose today, and you can enter life eternal.

To come to that conclusion you have to ignore scriptures that declare God's love for the whole world and His sacrifice for all. Plus in many instances of scripture people are told to choose :

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Deu 30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

You herald God's mercy at the beginning of your post and yet, at the end, you present Him as being merciless and arbitrary. How can God be merciful yet not allow all of us a chance to repent? That's a contradiction in terms.

Your profile indicates that you are fifteen years old and you got saved (asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior - a decision) approximately a year ago. You have a great deal of zeal. But you don't yet have much experience and learning as a believer. Zeal that is not tempered by experience and learning makes one "a loose cannon on the deck". Trust me. I've been a "loose cannon" and I've experienced the embarrasment of being proven wrong in front of others.

I strongly urge you to spend a month or so studying the pros and cons of Calvinism before you submit any more posts on this topic. GotQuestions.org is a good place to start.

Everyone here made good points, in response to you cman.

Brother Ed's post hit the nail on the head. You asked Jesus Christ to be your Lord & Savior. You did not suddenly wake up and say to yourself, "God predestined me to be saved".

There are a handful of useful links for research and study, on the home page's right column. Check them out and study well. In respect to GOD and His Word.

my point is that you are not going to ask jesus to be your savior unless you are called to do so. are you all telling me that god doesn't call people to be saved? without being called to christ we will not make the decision to follow him on our own. we will chose sin over jesus everytime.

We are saying that when Jesus said he died for all, that it means exactly that. The Holy Spirit will do his work to try to draw each person ever born, but that person has a free will to choose.
No one is predestined to hell, meaning he has no choice, he has a choice.
God is not willing that any should perish, but he also doesn't want forced relationship.
God is Love, and that is not love, but bondage, and slavery.
He loved us freely, and desires like love in return.

I know there is a religion out there that says some are predestined to hell, they have no choice.
That is not what the word of God says.
God, in his foreknowledge knows not all will, but he extends a hand of mercy to the end, like Judas, who could have repented, but would not.

The Holy Spirit will do his work to try to draw each person ever born,

don't you believe that god has the power to accomplish any thing he wants? if god tries to draw someone he is going to succeed. so if he tries to draw every person who was ever born then all of them will be saved. we as humans do not have the power to resist gods call.

God said to choose who you would serve. He will draw and convict but He does not force us to come.
As stated earlier predestination is according to the foreknowledge of our choices.

"But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." (Jn 12:32 NIV)

"For many are invited, but few are chosen." (Mt 22:14 NIV)

Jesus draws all of us to Himself. But only those who accept His invitation are saved.
