Elect according to the foreknowledge of God

Whats 100% wrong ? Explain back to me what I posted which is 100% wrong please.
Election is based on God’s foreknowledge NOT a heavenly lottery. Jesus said “ come unto me” and take my yolk” He did NOT say it was already given to you. When Paul was asked by the jailer what he must do to be saved Paul told the jailer to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he would be saved, and not one word about election. Calvinist change the context of every verse that teaches the individual must believe, place their faith in Jesus, repent and follow Him to God has believed for you, god has gifted you faith, and God has repented for you just sit back because you have been “elected’.

Im afraid all you are doing is opposing the Truth !

Seems God believing, repenting, and having faith for you is only in your mind it is not what Jesus nor the apostles taught.

What does believing in Jesus mean? Simply that a man named Jesus existed? Even the demons believe. (are they saved?)
Or... does it mean believing in everything Jesus did, everything He taught, and being obedient to those things.

1Jn 2:3; By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
1Jn 2:4; The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

Jas 2:19; You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

Believing is not just a mental assent. When the Holy Spirit convicts anyone of sins committed, righteousness forfeited and judgment coming they humble themselves before God, admit and confess their sins to Him. Then through believing all that the prophets and Jesus said they place their faith in Jesus, repent of their sins, and follow Jesus. Paul told the jailer to believe on the Lord Jesus and he would be saved correct ? Did Paul say one word about election to the jailer ? The gospel being good news has been perverted to what would be unrecognizable by Jesus and the apostles not even being remotely close to the truth they taught. How can John 3:16 be true if you destroy the context of “whosoever believes” taught by Jesus ? Hebrews 11:6 says -

Heb 11:6 - But without faithit is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to Godmust believe that he is, andthat he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Which has been perverted to deceive folks into believing that God gives them the faith He says they must have. To seek God you must believe that He is. Revelation 22:17 which the Spirit and bride ( Jesus) said is ignored by Calvinist to stay in their errors that contradict Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and the apostles.

Rev 22:17 - And the Spirit-and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say,Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Remember John 3:16 Revelation 22:17 has the same “whosoever will” ? Calvinist have placed man made qualifiers on the gospel that neither Jesus nor the apostles did. There is a warning in scripture to neither add nor take away from scripture that is ignored by Calvinist, sadly.

Yes , take my yolk . . . ”Christ" the Holy Spirit working in Jesus the son of man necessary to both reveal the will of the father and empower the son of man jesus (no power) to do it to the father's good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

Yoked with the father we can rest as did Jesus our brother in the Lord.

The Gentiles are God's Elect !

One of the most erroneous conceptions in mans religion today is that God's Elect are ethnic jews only, but that is a falsehood from the pits of hell, in fact, many of the ethnic jews during Paul's Time were not God's Elect, for that is plain from Rom 11:7

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

Israel here is National Israel, and Paul says that in her was a election of jews, and the rest were blinded, which was the nation in general, so how could the rest that were blinded be God's Elect , when they are here being distinguished from God's Elect ??

However, we know that not only that election in Israel was God's Chosen the Elect, but we know also that God's Chosen were also among the gentile Nations ! How do we know that ?

By this 2 Tim 2:10

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

If Paul being a special selected Apostle to the Gentiles as stated 2 Tim 1:11-12

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

That they[Gentile Elect] also may obtain the Salvation which is in Christ Jesus with Eternal Glory

Notice the word obtain is used here in 2 Tim as referring to the Elect obtaining Salvation among the Gentiles, which is used by Paul in Rom 11:7 for the Election obtaining Salvation in National Israel !

So Paul's personal Testimony as the Apostle to the Gentiles, was that He endured all things for the Elect's Sake, so it must be concluded that even Gentiles are amongst God's Elect, not just some ethnic jews 2 Tim 2:10

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

In the greek the Elect here is touv eklektouv, the word elect is preceded by the definite article, meaning that these gentiles were of God's only special elect People as Per Lk 18:7

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Also the same as in Matt 24:22

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The elect's sake here is the same the elect's sake in 2 Tim 2:10 which refers to Gentiles !

This poses a serious problem for those of you who have been deluded to thinking that only ethnic jews were God's Elect People !

1 Pet 1:1-2

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

The Elect here are not elected because of the obedience or faith, but unto obedience or faith Rom 16:26

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

The Obedience is produced by the work of the Spirit, for His sanctification work is the cause of their obedience, so Peter could say this in Acts 5:32

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

In other words, those obeying God, is a sure evidence of God having gave them the Holy Ghost, and His Sanctifying Graces unto obedience !

Obedience to the Gospel of God is evidence of having been born of the Spirit ! And this belongs the Elect only !

Hi I would offer it takes a little work but I think worth the read.

Remember every word has a gospel understanding hid. In that way the end of the matter is better than the beginning just as patience is better that pride. We have the rest of our lives to get a better or deeper understanding ..It does not take away the simplicity of the gospel .

Change the meaning of one word in violation to the law (Deuteronomy 4:2) it can change the outcome that was intended by the author (God) . A second warning is given at the end of prophecy the last chapter Revelation it is in respect to the whole sealed with seven seals till the end of time. Both working together to protect the integrity of the author our living God .

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word (singular) which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it (singular) , that ye may keep the commandments (plural) of the Lord your God which I command you.

I see that a little differently knowing God who is identified or typified by the word “Abraham” meaning the father of all nations. Abraham previously named Abram meaning "the exulted father of one nation". (His own family or nation) as a new nation called Jews it is made up of two nations Abram’s father’s father from the Amorites and his mother a Hittite’s two tribes that became arch enemies of Israel.

Ezekiel 16:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

Israel “the first mentioned as the bride of Christ the church ishe is made from all the tribes as nations of the world.

The church or bride of Christ has never been about the dying outward covering a Jew, but an inward born again spirit, we walk or understand God by faith the unseen things of God.

Romans 2:28-29 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

God is shown as adoptive father of all nations again typified as Abraham beginning with Abel the second born even before the Jewish nation was named .

That second born doctrine is a shadow leading to toward Jesus the Son of man Jesus . . the end of that kind of genealogy. It to repent the gospel was passed on to the twins Esau, the first born and Jacob the second born .

Esau meaning the hairy one to be used later (hairy goat soup) he first born and Jacob the second born meaning deceiver who deceived his father with a hairy goat and gave Esau the first born a cup of hairy goat soup in exchange for the birth rite. Esau saw no value in the unseen things of faith just like Cain.

God changed Jacob’s name just as he did with Abraham announcing the bride of Christ the church as born again Israel.

Israel meaning, he who wrestles with flesh and blood and over comes because of the empowerment of God as born again. A picture of those born again the church.

Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

Because God is no respecter of dying powerless flesh as the father of all nations He promised to rename Israel as the bride of Christ the church to a more befitting name to represent all the nations.

Isaiah 62;1-2 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

That promised came through in Acts called the church or eternal bride “Christian “.again a more befitting name for all the nations .

Christian a word with no other meaning added meaning as a demonym “residence of the city of Christ prepared as his bride the church named after its founder and her Husband, Christ.

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

In that same way not all Israel is born again Israel just as not everyone that name the word Christian are born again

Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Chosen to hear His Voice !

As Great as the Apostle Paul was, and used mightily of the Lord, nevertheless he was Just one of God's Elect as anyone else Christ died for. That being the case, what applied to him here is applied to each Elect Vessel of Mercy !

Acts 22:14

14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

Chosen to hear His Voice. Remember when Jesus made this statement ? Jn 10:16

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Though Paul was of that jewish fold, nevertheless He partook of the same promise that Jesus here promises of Gentile Sheep that also had been Chosen to hear His voice ! 3

Acts 22:14

14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

We see that the Elect, as Paul is an Illustration of, is Chosen to Hear God's or Christ's Voice, and this Spiritually. This coincides with Christ saying that His Sheep shall hear His voice via the Gospel.

Secondly, they are Chosen to Know God's Will, Spiritually and Experientially. Col 1:9

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

For this cause they receive a Spirit of revelation

Eph 1:17

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Eph 1:9

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 3

Do we choose God, or does God choose us? The words “elect” of God means that we are “chosen” by God. Predestined by God means God had “foreknowledge” of whom He would predestine to be His “chosen” people. We see mention of this in God’s “chosen” people Israel. We see mention of this in God’s “chosen” priesthood. We see God chose Zion, we see God chose His holy city. We see God chose Jerusalem; where God also chose to place His name. Don’t you know God’s chosen people are Zion? Don’t you know God’s Holy City, and God’s New Jerusalem are His “chosen” people? As Peter said, we are the “elect” according to the “foreknowledge” of God.

Jeremiah is a good example, whom God said He knew “before” He formed Jeremiah in the womb. And whom God said was sanctified and ordained to be a prophet “before” He was even born. It is the same with Jesus, whom God foreknew, and whom God had chosen before the foundation of the world.

Jesus said in John 6:44 that no one can come to the Son unless the Father “first” draws him.

Jesus also said in John 6:65 “And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were “given” unto him of my Father.”

This is election, and being chosen “first” by God to come to His Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus said in John 6:39 “And this is the Fathers will which has sent me, that of all which He has “given” me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”

Did we first create ourselves? Did we give birth to ourselves the first time? If we did not make ourselves and give birth to ourselves the first time, then how can we make ourselves a new creation and give birth to ourselves the second time? To God be the glory! Who makes one tree differ from another? Is it not God who makes all things? Did we earn the grace of God; or was it because God “first” favored us, and “first” loved us? Did we earn “the gift” of faith to believe?

It is written that faith comes BY hearing, and hearing By the Word of God. Did we “make” the ear that hears? No, it is God who makes, and gives us the ears to hear, and the faith to believe; and it is also God who “causes us” to walk the path of righteousness for His name’s sake. To God be the glory! Did we earn, or purchase “the gift” of the Holy Spirit, or was it freely given to us by God to His “chosen” people? Truth is, God knows whom He has chosen, He knows whom His elect are, even before they were born. God knows whose names are written in His book of Life even “before the foundation of the world”.

There is no boasting on our part, for everything we have, we have received from Him; to God belongs all the praise, honor, and glory!

I always like to prove all things by the words of God, so here are a few verses to confirm this message.

Romans 8:29-33

29 For whom he did “foreknow”, he also did “predestinate” to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.30 Moreover whom he did “predestinate”, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's “elect?” It is God that justifieth.

Jeremiah 1:5

5 “Before” I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Romans 9:8-26

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

11 (For the children being “not yet born”, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to “election” might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth)

12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,24 Even us, whom “he hath called”, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.”

God’s chosen people are the “holy city” Jerusalem, where God said He would place His name forever. ( 1 Kings 11:36, 2 Kings 21:4, 2 Kings 21:7, 2 Kings 23:27, 2 Chronicles 6:6, 2 Chronicles 33:4, 33:7, and Revelation 3:12)
Election in the Bible pertains to Israel. They are God's chosen people. They are the ones He foreknew. Many people look at this word, foreknow and understand it as God knowing the future before hand. However, the word is simply the word to know with the prefix for before. It simply means to before know. We can understand it as knowing in the past. This is how its used in Scripture.

Election in the Bible pertains to Israel.

Thats True but not the physical nation of Israel.
They are God's chosen people. They are the ones He foreknew.
Right equivalent to the Church Rom 8:29-30

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Eph 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love

as God knowing the future before hand. However, the word is simply the word to know with the prefix for before. It simply means to before know

Its much deeper than that. The word proginōskō also means
  1. to have knowledge before hand
  2. to foreknow
    1. of those whom God elected to salvation
  3. to predestinate

And the word ginōskō does mean having an intimacy with like a husband and wife: Matt 1:25

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Lk 1:34

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

She had no union with with a man

So to foreknow also denotes a foreunion of intimacy as Christ to His Church, and His Church is to be conformed to His Image, thats who Israel is, Christs Church in Union with Him.

They were in union with Him before the foundation Eph 1:4 ! And Christ is true Israel Isa 49:1-3

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

From my experience the Calvinistic belief of predestination is often linked to a less godly life because man doesn't need to be found worthy of salvation anymore, he is saved before the foundation of the world regardless of his deeds.

Hello @romanianbeliever,

Man can never be worthy of salvation though can he? If he could it would not have been necessary for the Lord Jesus Christ to take upon Himself the penalty for our sins and die in our place. That is why salvation is not of works, but entirely by grace.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
