Halloween, How do you feel about it?

Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. He came into This world to point us to His Father in heaven. AND His Main purpose was to die on the cross / providing our salvation.

I don't see why we Shouldn't celebrate Christmas -- the Birth of the Christ Child.

Yes, Christmas Is Very special. As is Resurrection Day.

As for halloween -- these days we don't take the horrors of witches and worlocks / the covans, etc. seriously. God's Word warns us against those things -- for a Reason. There is a Church of Satan -- they are all over this country.
Back when my husband was in Bible college / maybe seminary -- there was a guy who said that there was a Church of Satan just down the street from the Baptist church he went to. He said it was really eerie seeing that and realizing that Those people not only believed satan existed -- but worshiped Him.

Churches know that kids / parents Are out -- dressed up -- and want to provide a Safe place for them to play their games, etc. Because there was a time and still Is to some extent where there Are the evil people who are waiting for opportunities to cause harm. Some years ago there was the mess with people putting razer blades in apples. Lots of kids ended up in the ER with cut up mouths. And once in a while, kids Would disappear - Years ago a person knew who their neighbors were and people were Good people. Those times have come and Gone.

Lots of preachers have stopped teaching unpopular topics. their congregations want to hear 'feel good' sermons.

Don't 'we' celebrate each other's birthdays' / anniversaries? No one celebrates those 'just any time' especially if you're married and have kids. Those are Special times -- just as the birth of Jesus Christ is a special day.
As we have been over plenty of times. I can name many reasons why christmas is bad. But that isn't the point.

The point is using one set of rules to condemn a holiday and ignoring how those same rules also condemn the other. I am afraid that if we condemn Halloween then we cant just rationalize celebrating christmas. If you want christmas then dont judge those who celebrate Halloween. If you want to condemn the practice of celebrating Halloween then stop doing Christmas. Anything else is hypocritical.

I'm sure that you also have to notice this.

I don't care whether a person does Halloween or Christmas or doesn't do them. But it is hypocritical to not apply the standard to Christmas as you would to Halloween in judging them.

Why judge them, especially if they belong to the world, in full, sin, the world and the devil. So did we once.

We should pray for them, even rebuke the devil, pray the light of Christ into their hearts and lives.

I think we all like a celebration. About now in the UK we're celebrating the public execution of a 16th century terrorist who was fighting for the Catholic church against the heresy of the protestant movement. He was caught trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament and so we have massive bonfires and burn an effigy of this man Guy Fawkes and set off fireworks to represent the blowing up Parliament. We call it Guy Fawkes Day.

Greetings Andy

I live in the UK, not had a bonefire or been to one in thirty plus years, we never buy fireworks either.

I like to celebrate what a fantastic God I serve and how amazing it is that He loves me as much as He does and how He saved me from a very nasty ending that I don't even like to think about. Now that's what I call a real excuse for a party!! Lol

I still think Christmas is a wee bit special.

Amen brother.

Christmas is very special, the world doesn't know or understand.

Are you talking about the holidays or people that celebrate the holidays?

Sorry I thought we were talking about judging the holidays.

No problem my friend

I thought the last line covered it, but it is easy to think someone means something but they meant something else in the text, we all do it at times.

We should pray for them, even rebuke the devil, pray the light of Christ into their hearts and lives.

Forums are brilliant, but face to face discussions don't have this problem.

Bless you

I just witnessed a "minister" tear into a mother because she took her children to another church's trunk or treat event. I can tell you there was nothing loving about this minister's judgement.

My stance is to avoid what most people are doing. So I don't much care for Halloween itself. However, I do find it hypocritical of church people to judge halloween as evil and christmas as good when they both have heavy pagan roots that has been misappropriated by a corrupt catholic church and are today extremely commercialized, christmas more so than halloween as store begin selling decorations before halloween is even over.

There are many things that have been brought into the mainstream by the Catholic church because the "leaders" in the protestant churches either don't recognize the evil it is, ignore it because of peer pressure or are afraid of losing their paychecks. I wish it weren't so but when the truth of this is plain in scripture and history it's hard not to get angry. I'll gently approach a brother or sister about a subject like this. Most times the response is scorn or I'm ostracized. I won't respond most of the time but, sometimes i do. I hear in media and churches and see even here, that being Christian is supposed to be all gentleness and peace. What example was Yeshua giving us when he drove the merchants out of the temple with a whip, not a stern word or look? When do you exercise righteous anger at an obvious evil event, practice or person?

About the so called judgement of this minister, what I read in scripture is that we are not to judge another person. I agree, that is Yeshua's job. It's easy to pass judgement on this pastor who looks like he's passing judgment on this woman. But, are all of the facts known? Probably not.

For many years I was a practicing occultist. I read Tarot cards, used Ouija boards & had a fully equipped temple at home to practice ritualistic high magic.
Then one day something changed and I was saved and born again. (There is a brief testimony on my profile if anyone's interested)

But getting back to Halloween, as said elsewhere, this was started as a Christian celebration, All Hallows Eve, (All Saints Eve) but was to combat the pagan festival of Samhain, which in a nutshell is the occult festival of the passing of the dead, hence the dressing up as ghouls etc (I know there's more to it than that, so please don't correct me) and it still is taken very seriously by pagans and it is something I avoid at all cost.

Due to my background, The Lord sometimes uses me to deal with people affected by occult involvement, and one of the ways is through a musical I was blessed with after being saved (see profile for more info). However, it's not for the faint hearted as it is really aimed at showing occultists how bad it can get and that the only way out is through Jesus. If you know anyone affected by this please suggest they have take a look at Into The Light on YouTube:

First Welcome to Talk Jesus Brother,
Thank-you for sharing not only this video, but your testimony in your bio as well. Sadly, many fall into the arcane arts without a proper understanding of what they are opening themselves up to. Some, as games, a distraction, or for a variety of reasons, but all into something that at best/worst is only disguised as light, but in truth is darkness.

We have had other ex-practitioners who have first been Saved through the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ and have become members here at Talk Jesus over the years. Each with their own telling stories, but each a cautionary tale for those who are dabbling in such dark practices. So, I welcome you and again thank-you for sharing on this thread Brother in Christ Jesus.

If you'd like, and is not too much for you. Sharing your testimony in our Forum for them in the following forum (link) it would be greatly appreciated.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

What is the name of the song and who song it around the 48-49 minute mark?
Very powerful, and being hard of hearing, I'd love to see/read the actual lyrics/musical score for this composition.

Thanks in advance.

Halloween is satanic. I highly recommend this video by Doc Marquis he goes into the history of Halloween. He used to be a witch and a member of the Illuminati but he discovered Jesus and became a Christian.

I have always been a radical for God. Not fanatic. I know these things are real, and not to mess with. I like to out it into a context of, what would God feel, in these scenarios..
Ioh, I know it's Halloween, but I'm just going to dress up a bit, it's not I'm doing Halloween, but I try dress up, give candy.. I don't want to do it, but it's reminding of. Just to give the kids peace, right?
I believe we have to go to the intent and spirit of things.
Some people might be OK. Some not.
But it's eerily close.
What do you think God thinks about that.
Are we gonna have to go as close as possible just not to stir the soup?
Doesn't God tell us to be separated, to come out?
What are we doing if we do something that are that close on the exact same day?
I'm not trying to judge.
I'm trying to stimulate the minds here.
What if the evil really is that sneaky, and gets you to compromise by so doing?
How do you know?

TThe same goes for Christmas, Easter etc.
Yes. Really.
Christmas is fully pagan. The tree, the date, everything. I think that we know by now, if we don't it's easy to just Google, that Jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December.
He didn't tell us to celebrate his birthday.
What are we doing, doing all that is so tightly connected with the occult and other gods?
I'm guilty as well. I have been peddling around. Because of the strong, very strong pressure on that day. Because EVERYONE is. And the pressure on coming together, at the tree. The more I think about it, the more it seems like worship to me. So, it's out.
Can't you have something? Why?
A decoration? Why?
Depends I'd say, on why.
I believe its a in or out situation of becoming separate. Again.
I'm very cautious of being extreme due to past experience. Yet I see more and more. God is showing me. I have asked for it.
It's crystal clear.

Easter. How jesus said? Sure.
Witches, eggs etc. No. We only have to Google it.

You Do realize that 'we' have salvation made possible Because Of the birth of Jesus Christ and His death, burial and bodily resurrection. Why Not celebrate those events in history.

I Can understand Googling halloween -- because people don't realize what that is really all about. In it's totality. God's Word tells us to Not mess around with Anything of that nature. Witches / worlocks Are real -- they worship satan. Believers has no business even acknowledging it. Even though growing up -- Everybody dressed up in their costumes and went trick or treating. It was a fun thing. Over the years, though, it got nasty / dangerous and people started thinking more seriously about it. That's when someone told me to google it. I did -- And I decided to never do halloween again.

But read the Gospels to find out about Christmas and Resurrection Sunday.

IF Christmas is fully pagan then it means we have no savior. Christmas Is the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. That He came to this word as God incarnate. It doesn't matter When He was born. And it doesn't really matter why Dec. 25 was chosen. It could have been set at June 20th -- just pulling a date out of thin air. The event in history Does matter. The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ Does matter -- we have no salvation without the entire package. So -- Yes -- rejoice and Celebrate.

I'm a Christian yes.
As such, why choose a celebration on the same day there are so many pagan stuff attached? Why the struggle to make it as close as possible to that? Why, if it's only to celebrate his birthday? If you ask me, something isn't right there.
Okay, so you want to celebrate the day. Fine. But why tree, gifts, gluttony, etc etc. When one, tree was used to worship other gods, gifts, the same, etc etc. I'm like, WHY?
Why do we Have to do it like the pagans??
There's something wrong in that picture.

AAfter what the bible say, Christmas wasn't involved there. He came, and fulfilled, without a tree and all that. In fact the first Christians didn't have Christmas as we know it. All that they did was to break the bread and hold Easter minus eggs and witches.
No Christmas no savior? That's not biblical. I mean, the actual tree etc here. Not that He came.

BBut why do a whole pagan and non Christian world celebrate Christmas as pagan, when we are supposed to be not aligning with the world.

I'm thinking that - way back -- 'they' were trying to find a time when the people were used to getting together For other things. They Were trying to get the people's attention in a Positive way for a Positive event in history.

Why the tree? Well -- we use an ever-green tree to express the eternality of Jesus Christ. He died on wood from a tree. The maji brought gifts to the Christ child. There's usually a Christmas dinner with family gathered around.
If a person over-eats that's their problem, As far as the gluttany is concerned.

I've no clue about the worshipping of the other 'gods'. Never bothered to learn about them. I've known of some of their names by reading Scripture.

'we' can celebrate Christmas by reading the story of the nativity with our kids / family members. We can share the reason For the Christmas season. Keeping Christ in it.

I've never equated Christmas with anything pagan. Maybe 'we' could adjust our thinking a bit. Who Jesus Christ -- the baby in the manger -- came into this world to Be. Our Savior. Old Testament prophesy is being fulfilled.

A question -- do you celebrate the birth of your kids? every year? With gifts and a cake with candles? If you're married -- your wife's birthday? You're own birthday?

No I don't celebrate birthdays if there is something it's really really small. And I'm not married with children.
Oh you should look up the background occult for Christmas and Easter, parts.
There really started out as pagan. To foreign gods. The tree is a symbol of life and a worship tool.
The Catholic Church decided to mix it up, to convert the other religion.
It's all there.
It's all been mixed up.
Just Google the origins.
Isn't it weird, that all the world, the non Christian and the occult people, are doing the same thing? Something isn't right there.
I've not celebrated Christmas for years, and not really since I was a child. I would have preferred the truth about where its from.
If it's mixed up with paganism, how can we eat at God's table knowing it is.
Can we take the paganism out? How? Everyone of the ungodly does it. They decorate. They do it all. How can we escape then.
It should concern us if what we do is clean or not.

Yes, but each one also bear the consequences before God.
If we know the right thing to do, and keep resist God, we will bear the full consequences. Make sure that the one who think they stand, make sure they don't fall.
