Apostle Paul, The Rebel Rouser, he always was causing disturbing the peace and causing Riots in peaceful cities.

Acts 14:21-22 KJV, NIV84
Paul after been beaten and left for dead in "Lystra" instigated by those from "Antioch and Iconium". THEY left to "DERBE" and after they preach to that city and taught many, THEY WENT BACK to "Lystra" were they tried to Kill Him by stoning Him and they went Back to "ICONIUM and "ANTIOCH" to the people who Instigated the people at "Lystra" to kill him! That Saul [Paul] was something else. The disciples and the other Apostles must have thought Paul was crazy!!!!

Acts 14: 23-28
The Highlight in Chapter 14 is The Witness, the report of what "God had done through them, and "HOW" he had opened the door of faith to Gentiles.
Even through much pain and suffering is the only way to "Proclaim That The LORD is "The Christ of GOD' and There is only One WAY to GOD, There is Only One PATH. [The Via Dolorosa]
23Paul and Barnabas appointed elders a for them in each [assembly] and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust. 24After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia, 25and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.

Why are so many christians are ashamed to tell , what GOD has DONE for You, Through Christ and the Filth He delivered you from! They are afraid and Tremble with FEAR! "But many are fast to Quote "Perfect Love cast Out FEAR"

Acts 15: 1-35 NIV84
Paul and Barnabas went into some "Sharp Dispute And Debate" with some men coming down from "Judea" to Antioch with some false "new Covenant" teachings. A Real Heated debate. So Paul and Barnabas decide to leave and go up to "Jerusalem" to see the apostles and elders about theses questions.

1Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: “Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. 3The [Congregation] sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad. 4When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the [Congregation] and the apostles and elders, to whom They Reported Everything God Had Done Through Them.

5Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.”

6The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11No! Acts 15: 36-41 NIV84 A.D. 60 written by dr. Luke

Now we have Paul and Barnabas in an heated argument about "John-Mark" which is The writer of "The GOSPEL According to Mark" and Not "The Gospel According to Jesus Christ". John Mark wrote it in A.D. 68 and Luke Wrote the Acts of The Apostles in A.D. 60. Now That is Amazing.

Paul did not want "JOHN-MARK" with him, and got into a heated argument with Barnabas and they spilt up. Paul said; then you take him, he ain't going with me I will take "Silas" . Paul Said [when the battle got hot, he deserted them in "Pamphylia" and stop doing Missionary word"] I do not know what happen in "Pamphylia" but John-Mark got out of there! But I can image.] All those stripes Paul got on his back

And many think and argue that he had no right to not want "John MARK" with him. and I know many have discuss this event with many of your christian friends when you have visits with one another in your conversations at The Coffee and Tea table, as you sat down and had "Sausage" or a Biscuit" as many ancient Biblical scholars have done. And what a great example, they made for us to follow in, in examining what "The Book" has said.

Acts 16: 1-10

Paul an Silas traveling together, "Derbe" then to "Lystra" where they meet a young Man a disciple name "Timothy" Lived, whose Mother was Jewish and a believer but his father was a Greek .

1Paul came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was Jewish and a believer but whose father was a Greek. 2The believers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. 3Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. 4As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey. 5So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.

Paul’s Vision of the Man of Macedonia

6Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. 7When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. 8So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas. 9During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

[During that time period, For "Macedonia" there were no written record of what Jesus had done. Except "the Gospel According to Matthew about Jesus and the things he had done. and Matthew wrote it or had it written by a "Amanuensis" at that time I cannot rightly remember it has been a long time since I study the writings of "Matthew. But He did it around "A.D. 50". But here is "Paul" that has a "message" "According to JESUS" on Mouth.] I do not remember recalling if The "Macedonians" had a copy of the Accounts of "Matthew's" record about JESUS and what he did.
They didn't have a "Gutenberg" back then, or a mail carrier. or Post office.

Acts 16: 11-15
On The 7th day of the week "Paul, Silas and Timothy" went outside of the city in Philippi to the river, expecting to find a place to pray. and they found themselves among a group of women who had gathered and they started talking to them who had gathered.

11From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day we went on to Neapolis. 12From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that districta of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.

13On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. 14One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The LORD opened her heart To Respond to Paul’s message. 15When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If You Consider Me A Believer In The Lord,” She Said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

On The 7th day of the week.

Hello @PloughBoy,

Forgive me for repeating your previous reading concerning Paul's first stop in Macedonia, at Philippi. I couldn't help myself. I love the detail, and wanted to take time reading it through to absorb all that was said within it. This is why I break it down as I do, it is for my sake, so that I do not miss what is said.

Wonderfully, Paul had received instruction from the Lord to go to Macedonia, hadn't he? Having seen the vision of a man of Macedonia standing, and beseeching Him to 'come over into Macedonia, and help us'. What a request! No wonder Paul sought, 'straightaway', to go to them. (Acts 16:9-10). For He concluded that God had called them to preach the gospel to them. Luke includes himself within this narrative, with the use of the word, 'we'. How exciting for him to have been part of that experience: and now here they were, in Philippi, at the water's side, talking to the women, who had congregated there. Telling them the good news of God, concerning His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, wasting no time. These had one objective - to do the will of God: and the word of God did not fall on deaf ears did it? Lydia, was a worshipper of God, and the Lord opened her heart to give heed and receive the gospel message to the saving of her soul, and not her soul only, but also those of her household. What fruit was born to the glory of God that day!!

I would love to have been a fly on the wall, listening to the conversation around the meal table and at leisure in her house, while Paul and his companions were there enjoying her hospitality. She would have been another Mary, I think (Martha's sister) sitting at Paul's feet, listening to what he had to say concerning her newly found Lord and Saviour. How difficult it would have been to let them go: how she would have wanted them to remain with her, and learn from them.

A NOTICE: The word have been Notice, about Identifying certain type of women that was in "Thessalonica and Berea" in The English language. The English term; "Prominent women" in both city. Now certain culture and the time period and "Etymology" what did it mean bearing Biblically?

Women that stood Out, and it is safe to say; "These are GODLY, God Fearing women and to be Known as Such, No matter what status they were.

The reason I can and have said that, Because of the older God fearing that lived in my neighbor where I grew up in. Who watch me grow up and how they gave counsel to the younger wives and mothers in our neighborhood, who cried with those young mothers and wives and you could hear not praying to God about them but Talking To God On Their Behave And They Never Told Any Woman To Leave Or Divorce Their Husbands No Mater What Those Husband Had Done. And many time you could see those Old God fearing women in The neighborhood, Some times, talking to those men, and those men would start crying and getting down on their knees right outside in the dirt while those old God FEARING "Apon wearing dress wearing Tobacco chewing Women lay their hands on Those Men head and Talk to God On Their behave, Like No church have every KNOWN! And one, that talk to my mother a lot and prayed on our family, Told me one Day, That old woman said, many had told your mother to leave your daddy, and that old women told me, she told my Mother to stay with tears in her eyes, No matter What, with Power to stay! She told me that. And Then she said to me, I told your mother the other DAY, Now look what God has done! Not the neighborhood churches it was the "GOD FEARING WOMEN" old women who lived their , Tobacco chewing God fearing women and you could see them praying and crying and talking to God about The people around them and they never was ashamed! whether it was a man or a woman, a wife or husband or a child or teenager, and I remember even the children they care for and their own Grand child discipling them with a "Switch" and you always respected them or your parents would put a Switch to you in Public, And those Switches kept many alive and out of jail, today many of those children are Still alive. and those switches drew blood. and the ones did not get whip by switches but laugh at us, died young in more ways than one. males and females.

They do not make them like that NO MORE!!! it is over 35 years since I buried some of those old women, in "Historical Black Churches" where their Children wanted me to "Eulogize" their parents and grandmothers and I have not saw any one like them any more or heard of such and I bury my mother in 2012 and I "Eulogize" My father and committed his body to the "Grave" in 2006, and now I am left here alone. and Not one mother I have in the body of Christ, Living in this world of today. a woman "of Prominent" in "biblical Character" that cannot be deny, By "Heaven or hell" of her standings.

Then The "Bereans" was know as people of "Noble" Character. Not like the church is today, no "noble characters" as such. But I do remember a time like My Grandfather. Certain men back then,, my Dad and his Dad, I remember, He would Shake on it, "Great Big Hands" that would swallow up another mans hands, And he would say; SHAKE on it and My word is my Bond, For I am a man of My Word, now Shake on it, And those are the men that Raise me!!!! And I wanted to be just like them, and as of today I am A MAN OF MY WORD, "LIVE OR DIE"! My uncle used to laugh and say to me when I was a kid; let me see your hands and then he would say; now make a Fists. You do not have to worry in school in getting into a fight, just make a Fists and show them!

And I watch, the very words I say, For I do speak in "The HEBREW GENRE"! And if you knew any Jew, that have heard me engage with them, they will tell you in the genre, in which I engage in conservations with any man or woman,. For It Is My Character.

In Berea

10As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. 11Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. 12As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.

13But when the Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God at Berea, some of them went there too, agitating the crowds and stirring them up. 14The believers immediately sent Paul to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed at Berea. 15Those who escorted Paul brought him to Athens and then left with instructions for Silas and Timothy to join him as soon as possible.

* It is good to see Lydia's hospitality still in evidence, here in verse 40, isn't it? Providing a place of safety for Paul and Silas, and somewhere where the brethren could be comforted by Paul, before departing from them. We tend to overlook such a service for the Lord as hospitality, but it was greatly appreciated by the Apostles and their fellow-workers.

'Distributing to the necessity of saints;
given to hospitality.'
(Romans 12:13)

'A bishop then must be blameless,
the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour,
given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;
but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
One that ruleth well his own house,
having his children in subjection with all gravity;'
(1Timothy 3:2-4)

' For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God;
not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

* I believe that this contention between Paul and Barnabas was necessary: in order for Paul to be freed to pursue God's will for him; for almost immediately we read of him meeting Timothy (Acts 16:1), who would be such a help and comfort to Paul in his ministry, and to whom he would later be able to pass on that form of sound words, which he would receive of God, knowing that Timothy would faithfully keep them, and himself commit, by God's grace, to faithful men, who would teach others also.

Silas being one of Pauls fellow-countrymen, and Timothy being part Jew and part Gentile would be ideal as fellow-workers in the ministry that he had from God, as an Apostle to the Gentiles, yet one who faithfully endeavoured to convince his own countrymen, through the Old Testament Scriptures, concerning the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, His risen and glorified Lord and Saviour.

Yes, and The Magistrates were scared, because if "ROME" had gotten news that they had Lock up and whip a Roman, it could have a death penalty to The Magistrates, no telling what CAESAR, would do if he found out what a "Roman had did to another ROMAN Citizens without being tried. and they did not want that news to get out what they had done to A ROMAN! It could have meant Certain Violent Deaths to Those who jailed and beat "Paul and Silas" if it gets back to "ROME" of what they had done to another "ROMAN" and every "ROMAN" was Scared of "CAESAR" and remember "Caligula" then "Nero" his Nephew. Both of them were more than Crazy!!! That "Nero" had sex with his Mother and kick and beat up his own pregnant wife to death, and I think if I remember killed his mother, and cut off his Boyfriend manhood and married him. and put on wild beast skins a chewed off the manhood of Christians in the Roman Colosseum and that is nothing to be compared to what his uncle had done, "CALIGULA" a long time ago I did a deep history study on the whole Roman Empire. and all of the Caesars. for that is why "NERO" in secret "the Christians" in secret name him "The BEAST". in secret. Paul knew he was a Roman, and in a way he was getting revenge for what they had done to them. "Paul was something else" he knew what he was doing putting fear into them, Putting the fear of being revealed to "Caesar" what they had done. Paul did a lot of things like that, through out his history. threatening with his appeals to "ROME". "Romans were scared of "CAESAR" that crazy nut! That is why the Gospel Spread so far, The Christians was getting as far from "CAESAR" as they could! That is how God used Caesar to get The GOSPEl into the far side of The Roman WORLD. They were running from "CAESAR"On the Roman ROAD.
Christians wanted to sit down in the Pews and have a nice little Churchy christian lifestyle. That "NERO" "THE BEAST" and he did not start off like that, That mother of his, change him with allured wicked ways, and in the end it was her death penalty.

At "Athens" Paul was waiting on "Silas and Timothy" as he looked around, He Became "GREATLY Distressed"! "How we all know the feeling, as we look around today at this "Modern Day" Christianity. On' How much does it Look like Ancient "Athens" just like when Apostle Paul sat Down and Observed "Religion" and As "Our LORD" sat down and observe them in The "TEMPLE COURT" in Jerusalem as He watch and The ZEAL of GOD start eating Him up.

16While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed To See That The City Was Full Of Idols. 17So he reasoned in the synagogue with Both Jews And God-Fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there. 18A group of Epicurean and Stoic Philosophers Began to Debate With Him. Paul is slick, The way he approaches his audience, cracks me up! He know he is one of the best of lawyers. They say to be a wise representative of "The Gospel ACCORDING to Jesus Christ" you must have The Skills of a Student of LAW. It makes plenty of sense. "Moses, Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, Paul, Polycarp. Athannius. Luther, Knox, Calvin, and a host of others. "Be wise as a Serpent but harmless as a Dove"

I was so empress with that statement that Paul wrote here when I read it, in my Bible in 1977, And throughout all of these years I have walk among many kinds of people and places, from The Pentagon to The Dope houses in Detroit Michigan to the Members of The "Arapahos" Reservations and The Spaniards in Nogales, New Mexico to The "LGBTQ" community in California. While other beat them against the head with the Bible, "I gave them "The Invisible CHRIST through "THE PARAKLETOS" flowing through my soul, The Way My "LORD" taught me. "by My SPIRIT Saith; "The LORD"

"behold I will make you fisherman of Men" GOD does not Lie! and now almost 50 years I have been a "fisherman of Men" I wonder when I 1st began would I continue to the end non stop. and I remember crying telling God in 1977, You got to help finish unto the end, because I know I will fail. And that same day or during that week, I read this, for the 1st time, as I was reading my Bible from the to the back, The 1st. time I ever saw the Book of "Philippians" a cross these words! I never even knew the Book existed at 26 years old. in March 1977, I came across these words after I had cried and prayed for GOD to keep me. When I read that; The Anointing of GOD cover me "like a Heavy Thick Oil Poured on ME and Coated My very Soul" "That GOD had this, I got you "My CHILD". he has not fail after almost 50 years, still running strong, when I was weak I was still Strong when I could not pray I Was still Strong, when I cried and they the christians talked about me, so Bad, I was still Strong, when my brothers and sisters in Christ laugh at me, I was still strong. when my wife laugh at me and betrayed me and went behind my back with pastors and devil worshippers, and witches, and False Prophets and Idol God worshippers he kept me. and I still have a way to go, I have not finish the finishing line yet, Paul had Nero, James had The sword cut him into, another was pulled apart by "wild horses", another Hung and Burn at the stake, another Drown, then another Crucified upside down. {LORD we wonder what will it be, at The gate of my departure.} Before "Martin Luther King jr." died, He said men like me, throughout biblical history die, "Violent deaths".

Now here we see, Apostles Paul standing on "Mars Hills" in "ATHEN GREECE" The AREOPAGUS, in A Place That The Creeks called "THE GOD of WAR" ["MARS := Ares"] [ the legends says, Alcippe, The daughters of Ares, was raped by "Halirroyhius",The Son of "Poseidon," Ares killed the rapist!

Acts 18: 1-11 NIV 84

Now Paul is in "Corinth" and meets "Aquila and His Wife Priscilla" who had to leave "Italy" because "Claudius" had ordered all the Jews to Leave!
And Paul had start Preaching to the people there and the people in "Corinth" had become very abusive to him there in "Corinth" and he told them [ Bye I am out of here may your own blood be upon you I am out of here I am going to the gentiles]. and finally GOD told him do not be afraid of them, he has some people in this city", [ the Nicodemus by night] Many of times a Proclaimer of the TRUTH, will think he is all alone and they will get "Frustrated" and they are willing, even come to a conclusion "To shake The Very Dust of that City off Of Their feet" and keep it moving' Then if "GOD" speaks to them and He gives them an encouragement from Him and Not the praises that comes out of the mouth of mere men, makes a big difference, because of [the implosion].

Note; If Paul had not stayed there he would have never wrote the 2 letters written to the Corrupted church that he had establish in "the City of Corinth".

For The church in The city Of Corinth was one of the most corrupted church in The New Testament.

"It is by Grace are we saved and not by works, less if any man should boast" Once saved we are only babes in "Christ" and we must grow up, But as the concept of "Types and Shadows". The babe, the child, then the beginning of "Probity" then the young adult, then the adult, then the beginning of "Those who have come to age" Then the Age who come to mind, how Their GOD has Brought Them this Far, through much "discipline, pain and sorrows, that was more precious than "Sliver or Gold" and by knowing "The Revelation" of "The Truth" Knowing the path that has gotten to where they are at now, in there life, They would want GOD to bring them the same way and not veering to the Right or Left. Why because it was "The Providence of GOD" that cause them to suffer with so much pain and loneness and distress of mind that has brought them into The Place of an "ELDER" male or female before The face of "GOD".
And I do not mean pastors or the leaders of a local institutionalize church that has been created by men and women with offering plates but an Elder to "The True Body of CHRIST" The True "KOiNONIA" and Not a bunch of puff up "lords'. But those that have suffered Greatly and deny ALL and not by choice, But they have been Ordain by God to Suffer with a great price.

5When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. 6But when They Opposed Paul And Became Abusive, He Shook Out His Clothes In Protest And Said To Them, “YOUR BLOOD BE ON YOUR OWN HEADS! 7Then Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. 8Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard Paul believed and were baptized.

9One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, Do Not Be Silent.10For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, Because I Have Many People In This City.” 11So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.
