SignUp Now!The Old Testament 'ways' meant business. If we took sin as seriously now, as they did back Then, the population would be greatly reduced vey quickly. A virus wouldn't be needed.
I am married, but not legally. My husband and I can't afford to have a wedding or get rings right now, but we have prayed to god to accept our marriage and have told him that we are married. Do you have to get married by a priest to actually be married in god's eyes?
You were "Married" (in God's Eyes) the first time you joined FLESH with your wife, so that's all water under the bridge.
However there are some sound economic reasons for the State to be involved - particularly is there are kids. Property rights, Signing rights, LEGAL RELATIONSHIP issues, ownership of assets, and if you decide to Split - WHO GETS STUFF???
A quick oath at the Justice of the peace is cheap, and gets the legal stuff taken care of. "Weddings" have nothing to do with being "Married", and everything to do with a civil contract execution.
"Joined Legally" has nothing to do be "being Married".Actually -- having sex with a person who isnt yet your spouse is still fornication. If a man and woman really want to express themselves sexually but cant be married -- then they could promise to be faithful to each other -- forsaking everyone else -- til one or both of them die. But I cant really think of any situation where that would be the situation. So -- the next best thing would be to practice self-control and Not 'be together´ until they can be joined legally.
Remember BAC we are not under the old law.

A wedding ceremony is Supposed to be a very special ceremony joining two lives together Forever.
Covenant, not ceremony the bible from "Genesis to Revelation" is about a "Covenant" relationship or developing a "Covenant relationship between God and His people. That cannot be broken.Key words "Supposed to be". In some cases "Forever" is a couple of months, in my case it's been 55 years. but a WEDDING isn't a "Marriage" - just a legal contract signing. Marriage is the joining of flesh.
That 'piece of paper' is going to feel very important. to you. It represents those vows. The 'in sickness and in health' part.
In the early days marriage between a man and a woman was a personal matter as they agreed to be committed to each other. From what I've read it was the early Catholic church that ordained that unless the couple were married by a priest it was ungodly. I've been where you are and I honestly believe that marriage is two becoming one and God does not condemn such a relationship. I believe you are married in the eyes of God even if not in the eyes of the church. And which of those matters most? Be blessed and don't fret over it.I am married, but not legally.
