I am not trying to argue. I am just curious. Are you saying that a christian never sins...because I don't see how you could sin any other way than willfully....i think everyone knows that the lie they told, the lustful deeds, the coveting....was wrong, so that seems willful to me. I know that I have willfully sinned, and I am definatley God's child.

To ushalk,When the Lord told me to go home and pray and stand for my husband as I was going to leave because of the cult he was in,I did not doubt he would hear my cries and save my husband actually like I said he was saved when he was 15 and used to "street preach" on the streets of Chicago for 2 yrs!!And yes there is scripture,"You and your household will be saved"!!!I also had a friend who her father in law was Jewish and the Lord told her to pray for his salvation not healing anymore and she did after he left their home and returned to Fl.after living with them for 2yrs and when he died, we both had peace that the Lord brought him home, whether he showed him a vision of himself(Jesus)or what we dont know but when the Lord tells you to stand and pray for that backslidder or unsaved loved one he will honor it because he is merciful!!And there is so much done in the spirit realm we are not even aware of!!He is a supernatural God!!God bless you!!

Christians sin everyday. Our sin stems from our human nature which never leaves us. And since we sin we should also repent even though our sins are already forgiven. by the grace of God and His gift of Jesus dying on the cross for us.

You can not be an atheist and be born again. so the question isnt proper to begin with.
If you have been born again, even having been once an atheist, you have eternal life.
Therefore, If you have eternal life, what is eternal?

There are many who say, Lord Lord, but one day He will say, "I NEVER knew you."
That means they had never come to Jesus , even though they seemed to have.
God sees the heart,we only see what man wants to portray.
Once truly saved? Always saved, for he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
He alone is able to keep me from falling Jude :24

once saved always saved..

First.. Yes once you are saved you are always saved..
Second.. the second choice mentions if you die an atheist..
okay.. if you get saved that means you belive in God and believe that Jesus died for you.. So.. if you are honestly saved you wouldn't consider being an atheist..Make sense?

Amen! Sister, AMEN! and to add to that...one can not be Christian and die an atheist.

ok now i am going to explain the real truth to you. we do not just lose our salvation. we can walk away from our salvation if we continue in it. this is the problem with this teaching. it is taught as a license to sin. this is not in the bible. nowhere in the bible does the repent mean to continue in the sin. we can not keep fellowship with god in sin.

So, at what point, and what sin do you lose your salvation? Or walk away as you say?
I totally disagree with you for my Bible says, "He is able to keep me from falling."
And it is not taught as a license to sin.
Not in my fellowship anyway.
My Bible says "If we sin, we have an advocate with the Father.1John 2:1
Those who may only claim to be a Christian may use that as an excuse to sin, but it is not the truth.
A true born again child of God, does not practice sin......he may sin, and fellowship be broken, but not his position, and yes, the Holy Spirit will lead him to repentance.
Not to regain ones salvation, but to regain fellowship.

When your child disobeys do you cast him off?
You may send him to his room until he ask for forgiveness!
But he is still your child!
If he should walk away ,and never look back is he still not your child?
Your heart may be grieved, and the child will suffer loss, but not his position.
Are you saying man is more righteous than our Lord?

You had no power to save yourself, neither do you have power to keep yourself saved, it is a gift from God, by grace alone.
Either he is able to keep me from falling as he promised, or he is not God, for that would make him a lier.
He isn't ,of course ,so I can count on him to keep me, by faith alone.

Even now he is in Heaven at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for me.......You must be born again though, to receive such marvelous grace.
"He" is our righteousness, and his alone.

yes the lord will give us a way out of sin. but he still allows us to have free will. if god is not mocked and the sacrifice of christ is only one do to one death and one ressurection and the bible clearly states that if we willfully sin then we are expectant of a fiery indignation then i would clearly state that there is a point to gods grace that if we continue in the same sins and keep repenting of them and never turning away then we walk away from our salvation.

see many people that believe that we can be saved and it no longer matters what we do usually do not want to quit living in sin. soon there hearts will grow cold to god. it is alot like the verse where jesus states that we can not serve both god and mammon. many changed that word mammon to money and it changed the meaning of the verse. the word mammon actually means any worldly thing or assets.

May I ask what makes your version the real truth? For no where in God's Word does it say we can loose our salvation.

we can walk away from our salvation if we continue in it
This statement is an oxymoron if ever there were one.

One more thing. Your sig, totally goes against everything that is being claimed to be the real truth. One can only walk one path at a time, but it seems that it is your belief that one can stradle both the narrow and the wide path.

Sin only kills us if we walk without Christ. As mentioned before, even Christians sin, but our sins will not kill us because we do repent, which as it is plainly stated in your sig...
repentance heals us.

I agree with you. That's why I say that God will judge each individual's heart, but what is in your heart is reflected your actions/words (Matt. 12:34). So I agree with you. I just wanted to let everyone know that just because you mess up once, if you died the next minute, God is just, so we don't have to live in fear of going to hell, as long as we feel remorse for our sins, and when we are convicted of our sin..repent immediatley. Although, people have deffiantley sinned repeatedly after becoming a CHristian and not repented for a long time...but eventully rededicated their life to Christ and that is great. :)

I agree. Its a marvelous gift and I loved the way you described it. I also agree that God is able to keep us from falling, but I also know that we can have a point of weakness in our lives where we give way to temptation and can fall MAJORLY. No matter how far from God you get, you can always repent (if you really mean it) and come back to him. You can always rededicate you life to him to make the fellowship connection again. In my Bible, Peter denied Jesus 3 TIMES, and he was a Christian. But he turned back to CHrist and lived for him. Amen. Can we not do the same?

I dont know of any true born again Christian that believes that.....

If we could lose our salvation, then Christ would have to die all over again
You need to read Romans all the way through again, and again ,and again....
Jesus died Once, for ALL.

well we should all go get drunk and pick up a bunch of people and live in fornication then. i mean after all we are saved so lets live it up while we are in this world. woo whoo, party time tonight. ya all going to join me. remember we are all saved so it does not matter what we do. no fear of living in sin is in us because we are saved.

we need not have fear of god in our eyes,. so are you all going to join me tonight?

you go do what you want, but you are so wrong, and that sir is between you and God. It also is so sad that others are being led down the wrong path by anothers belief.

If that is your attitude then I doubt you are born again, so No, I wont join you.
I have passed from death unto life, and that eternal.
Will pray for you though.

so now you are stating that i am wrong and in sin. but i am saved? all of a sudden that does not matter? if i sin then i am in trouble with god, is that what you are saying?

Ushalk...all is now between you and God. God is the only one who can answer your questions, and I pray that you seek Him out, and listen for Him to respond.

well, i am not doing any of those things. the point that i was trying to make and you all pretty much confirmed is that sin takes us away from god. but when people are told they are saved from no matter what this is the attitude that many take. saved or unsaved sin separates us from god until we repent.

I have not seen anyone say that sin does not take us away from God.

saved or unsaved sin separates us from god until we repent.
You are absolutely correct, but this does not play into the Op, of once saved always saved. As Christ died once on the cross if one is truly saved, they are saved once and for all. That cannot be taken away, and to think otherwise would be calling God and indian giver.

John 3:16 (New King James Version)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

True salvation is eternal, forever, infinite, everlasting and nowhere in the bible does it say or even indicate otherwise.

Matt. 24:24
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

John 6:45
It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

John 10:27,28
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

John 11:25-29
26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” 28 And when she had said these things, she went her way and secretly called Mary her sister, saying, “The Teacher has come and is calling for you.” 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly and came to Him.

Romans 6:23

Titus 1:2

1 John 5:11

John 6:47

John 6:36

1 Chronicles 17:10-14

Isaiah 55:3

John 5:24, 28-29
