That's a very odd question @Waggles Russia has been the military aggressor in this conflict. The West has responded by sharing intelligence, equipping the Ukrainian forces and sanctioning Russia. Where did you get "choosing war" from?

You need to study history rather than learn of events through mainstream media.
This war has been in the making since the USSR collapsed in 1991 and Europe coveted the enormous rich resources of Russia for herself.
But along came a problem - Vladimir Putin, who as was determined to defend Russia from the machinations of the collective West and from Roman Catholicism.
Putin warned NATO and the EU way back in 2007 [Munich Security Conference) that the eastward expansion of NATO and the building up of offensive military infrastructure ever closer to Russia's borders would
be seen as threatening the existence of Russia.
So what did the West do in response to this direct warning of concern from Putin? They offered NATO membership to Georgia and brought in NATO personnel and equipment to encourage Georgia to
take on Russia in 2008.
Again did the U.S. and Europe come to Georgia's defence? No. And they have done the same with Ukraine. A pawn in the neverending game of geopolitics for ruling the world.
Washington needs to take out Russia first before they can take on China. The U.S.A. does not want to fight wars in two or more arenas at the same time.
 
Biden now calling for regime change in Russia is just further amplifying Russia's fear of an existential threat to them.

I know the history and read it differently to you.

Georgia - an independent republic - wanted closer relations with the West in the early 2000s. Russia may not welcome that move, but had no right to interfere with a sovereign country's foreign relations. Same with Ukraine now.

Since the break up of the soviet union Russia is looking at declining regional influence, but certainly not a threat to its existence.

And we were ready for WW3 if russia didnt pull the missles out of their allies land called cuba. For some reason, that was good, but when we want to place all kinds of troops on the russian border through NATO, and when we refuse to listen to russian complaints, it falls on deaf ears. I am not rooting for russia, they go too far with Ukraine, but the US is often just as bad, in thier gunboat diplomacy. Not disagreeing with the cuban crisis either, I think we did the right thing, but thinking our media is playing fair in their coverage is just not reality.

So how come the U.S.A. and Europe feel free and entitled to interfere in other nation's internal affairs - from orchestrating coup d'états, assassinating political leaders, bankrolling revolutions and rebels,
funding NGOs, proxy wars, media wars, false flag attacks that actually kill people, foreign aid with strings attached, bribery and corruption of officials and politicians ...

So why did the West publicly lie to Ukraine that they could possibly join NATO and the EU when privately the West were never going to honour this public deceit.
Zelensky and Ukraine were led by a carrot on a stick and having fallen for the ploy they have been left out to fend for themselves.
The collective West knew that NATO membership for Ukraine and placing NATO offensive military infrastructure on Russia's borders was a red line for Putin and his Security Council since 2007, but they just kept on
expanding eastward publicly lying to Georgia and Ukraine to bait Russia. And Putin has taken the bait hook, line and sinker.
Anybody remember Cuba 1962 when Kennedy was ready to nuke Russia and Europe to prevent Russian missiles being siloed in Cuba 90 miles off the Florida coast.
Now Poland and Romania have Pershing missile silos just 100 miles from the Russian border. Did Putin threaten to end the world over this?? No.

The collective West are not the good guys - there is no righteousness in London nor Paris nor Berlin nor Canberra nor Washington nor Toronto, etc ... they are all children of Rome.

Yes, western nations have been causing chaos in other countries for years and years. I'm unequivocally opposed to proxy wars, military expansion and domination of other nations.

In the current situation, Russia is the aggressor. I think the application of heavy sanctions plus military and humanitarian aid, stopping short of direct military intervention has broadly been a proportionate response.

I am, impress, most people here in the USA is not knowledgeable of The escapes of their own country. They are completely in the dark, not to long ago, The USA on a average about being evolved in wars; over 200 wars around the world at the same time. Now through censorship of the media. Those actual numbers has gone dark. Most in other countries know more about The USA than their own citizens. Known fact! The worlds knows about us! “A bunch of “glutton, ignorant, ill-inform, arrogant, Yankees! Over paid, overworked cowboys always lying, never telling the truth! “They say “ not me, and the people from the USA do not know the truth, and they have a habit of lying all the time. And they ask you; “Well how are”? You start telling them the truth; watch the look on their face.
