The “Woke “ Jesus

I think we are all getting off the beaten path, and I think we need to withdraw pointing fingers at each other. Or we'll have Brother Bear coming down on us, slapping all of our wrists

Hmmmm

Yes, watching and not all that impressed.

Please everyone, remember to build upon the foundation in love. Nothing else.

Jesus is the Lord

Bless you ....><>

"Foundation in Love. "

I remember a Christian church, not so long ago that went though a split because there leaders voted into the lead position of Bishop someone who was gay.

In the Protestant churches, barely a ripple of commotion was heard over it. And those who split from the gay Bishop were readily accepted as brothers and sisters.

Now we see the Catholic church in the beginning stages of a split. Where is our support for those who choose to be in Jesus, and not follow those opposing the Laws of God.

There will always be those who support any brother or sister that is true to the Lord, and there will always be those who are suspicious of anyone different from them. Its never been different from that, from Eden to the current day.

Greetings all,

The thread is getting rather messy.

It is getting difficult for the panel to decide who to give the first prize for pride to.

Bless you all ....><>

The “Woke “Jesus
My apologies for being so long. I am not going to address everything; too many issues.

I really tried to understand what the ‘woke’ movement is and where it originated from. I asked my children who are in their thirties to try to explain what it meant. They told me but I could not comprehend what they were saying. You know how sometimes you are explained things over again and it does not sink in. Reading this thread I am even more confused. Adding Jesus into the fray confused me even more.

From ‘Chat BPT’.

"Woke" is a term that has evolved over time, originating from African American Vernacular English (AAVE) as a colloquial expression meaning being awake, aware, or conscious, particularly in matters of social injustice and inequality. The concept of being "woke" has gained widespread popularity and usage in mainstream culture, especially in discussions surrounding social justice, activism, and awareness.

At its core, being "woke" signifies a heightened awareness and sensitivity to issues of systemic oppression, discrimination, and marginalization. This includes but is not limited to racial injustice, gender inequality, LGBTQ+ rights, economic disparity, environmental concerns, and other forms of social injustice. Those who consider themselves "woke" typically strive to understand and challenge the power structures and societal norms that perpetuate these injustices.

The term "woke" gained significant traction during the Black Lives Matter movement and other social justice movements that gained momentum in the 2010s. It reflects a commitment to actively educating oneself about historical and contemporary injustices, empathizing with marginalized communities, and advocating for meaningful change. However, it's important to note that the term "woke" has also been subject to criticism and debate. Some argue that it has been co-opted or diluted in mainstream discourse, becoming more of a performative label or virtue signaling rather than a genuine commitment to social justice. Others contend that the concept of being "woke" can sometimes lead to divisiveness or self-righteousness, as individuals may compete to demonstrate their social awareness without fully understanding the complexities of the issues at hand. Overall, while "woke" culture has played a significant role in raising awareness about social injustices and promoting activism, it remains a complex and evolving concept that continues to be debated and redefined within broader discussions of social change and equity.

It was the band Pillar that coined the song about Jesus ‘Original Superman’. Can we allude Jesus to be the ‘Original Woke-Man’

[Luke 4:18]
King James Version
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”.

[Luke 4:18]
New King James Version
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed”.

I think "woke" refers to being socially aware and mindful, especially about issues of injustice, inequality, and discrimination, particularly those related to race, gender, and class. Someone who is "woke" is actively engaged in understanding and addressing these issues and is often seen as advocating for social change and equality with a loud symbol and drums, furthermore may attack others who are not within the sphere of change. This position can be seen in this subject matter presented.

Holy Spirit Male?
These verses can be easily overlooked yet strongly use the male gender. There is nothing neuter or feminine about their use in these 6 usages in these 3 verses. If God repeats something it is worth of notation; using the masculine 6 times must be a big deal for Him.

[John 14:16-17 & 26]
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I am not sure how the other things raised here are related to ‘woke’. I would like to see where they do. I am sure this is not the end.

God Bless…

Yes, when I first came across the term around 10 years ago, it meant being awake to issues of justice and equality.

But since then, it has flipped to become a derogatory term. Today, calling someone woke means labelling them a judgemental hyper socially-conscious irritant, and lining up on different sides of the culture wars.

That's what "They" want you to believe.
Woke is damaged and delusional people who make race, gender, sex, etc. and so many evil their entire life.
Transgenderism. Exposing children to all kinds of perverted things and porn.
Blacks are "special", were the only "real slaves" ever and it's White peoples fault.
Gender is subjective to a TINY minority and everyone else must play pretend or "racist, bigot, -phobe this and that".

They want to push evil, abnormal, perverted, pedo, groomer, etc. as "normal"
God set the standard. I don't CARE who it is but all who support that are enemies of humanity and God.
They use "cis" and other words to insult us and then claim it's not a slur when it is.
They are a problem and that problem must be fixed.

I find a lot of the woke concept is rooted in the New Age movement, although it seems to cloak itself around a philosophy that would be considered religious it's true nature is that much more of a destructive nature

If you look at how it is described in the textbooks and only apply it that way then I would say yes, however like I stated before the way it's being used is much more destructive to not only the view of United like the United States but United as in family structure because in both cases it's very anti United

Seems that Woke can be explained in Wokeism as what ever YOU/ME want it to be. Isn’t that the essence ofWoke.

I think that's just a piece of it, because I have seen Billboards in Chicago and other places trying to explain Jesus as being us. If I recall the sign read something like this Jesus in us with a capital us, and Us in Jesus spelling out the last two letters of Jesus as us

They have television ads also. hegetsus. He gets us. All of us. It's a universalist organization.

To me "Woke" is just another word to create division. Whenever you attempt to identify/correct the wrongs real or perceived in society, someone has to be the bad guy.
If you want a bad guy, you have to look no further than Satan, if you want the cause, then sin, if you want to fix it, then you need Jesus.

Thinking that we can somehow fix the ills of humanity, regardless of where you are, or what you're going through, without Jesus, is literally a fool's errand.

My two cents.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Yes that's the obvious bottom line of the woke ideology, Satan

I believe it's being promoted by the One World Church in Dubai. Because I've listened to some other statements and it sounds like they're trying to remove Jesus - God/Human. An in Dubai if you mention the name Jesus you can be put to death.

Jesus being the Son of God is a huge obstacle for the One World Church. They don't have a problem in reference of God, but the god that they reference is not our God. Because the church in Dubai includes Satanist as well as Hindus and Buddhist and you name it as well as Christians. I remember watching the video and I was amazed to see all the church leaders from the Christian denominations that were present at the opening ceremony. Not only did they have Muslims of all different groups but there were many Christians of all different groups there too including the Pope.

It's bad news for all of us

The wokesters are hoping to co-opt Jesus in the eyes of the public to further their ends. In reality, they don't really care what Jesus has to say or taught outside of using bits and pieces to manipulate people. They aren't doing this as well intentioned people. They know that God opposes their neo-marxist agenda and their depravity. This is there way of suppressing the truth.

" For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them."
Romans 1:18-19 esv

Hello @Optimistic Lutheran

What do you mean by the term "Wokester"? How do you know what they are hoping for and what they care about? Thanks.

To his followers he is Christ on earth

The pope is not taught as Christ on earth. He follows the line of the position Peter held. St Peter was the first pope.

Matt 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
