The End Times Controversy

Shaggy Flasko said:
BROTHERSINARMST4G, it's one thing to make a statement. Proving it is another matter. In all respect, as I'm sure that you're a respectable person...

1. Chad can defend his own statements and beliefs.
2. If you want to accuse me of something, prove it with specific evidence.

I will not be intimidated by anyone.

Until you prove what you say and what you believe with evidence, you have no point in saying these things about me.

God bless
-Bill

Shaggy . I am not trying to intimidate you at all . I work for God and Chad to protect this site from unchristian talk . Chad is a big boy and you will not cause anymore controversey here . I am sorry you could not end this thread as asked . Bye Shaggy . Mike

You confessed your a preterist. We provided more than ample Scripture. There is no further evidence required becuse anything higher than Scripture (Truth) surely does not exist.

Your put on a 1 day ban. I would like you to seek GOD fully 100% in this matter and ask Him for guidance, truth, wisdom, discernment. This is a serious matter for sure. I canot allow such false things to roam this site. No way.

Then you may come back and let us know how you feel, what GOD has spoken to you. It will only work if you humble yourself before the Lord and truly seek wisdom in this important matter.

Yes, GOD's word alone. What could top this off? Nothing indeed. GOD is creator and the Lord has spoken through Scripture. I'm not one to go around giving myself a label like for example mormon, preterist, jehovah's witness, etc. I'm simply a Christian. That's plain and simple. I believe in Scripture, plain and simple.
Shaggy and I have stated very clearly that we are Christians by every means, and absolutely nowhere did we suggest that there was a higher authority than the scriptures. We only use the term "preterism" to summarize our eschatological beliefs in a single word. To condemn us for such a practice would be to condemn every Christian who has ever called themselves babtists, methodists, evangelical, charismatic, catholic, orthodox, or even protestant. Furthermore, to condemn Shaggy for refering to Ken Gentry and John Robertson would also condemn jiggyfly for refering to Iranaeus, Eusebius, Clement of Alexandria and Origen. Speaking of which.

Rev 17:9 - And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
Rev 17:10 - And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

Rome was also called "Septimonium," meaning "the City on Seven Hills." Rome also had seven Emperors leading up to the destruction of Jerusalem. Julius, Augustus, Tiberius, Gaius, and Claudius would be the five fallen kings. This would perfectly date the writing of the prophecy during the reign of Nero. Especially since the next Emperor, Galba, only reigned about seven months.

Rev 11:2 - But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Jerusalem is not only still standing in this verse, but is about to come under a 42 month seige, which the Romans where responsible for.

Then of course imminence plays an important role in dating the book, since the events fortold couldn't have possibly fit into the events following AD 96, but you can refer to Shaggy's past 200 posts for that argument. Either that or you could visit a preterist website.

Wrong. I condemn false teachings on my site. Period.

In the words of a good Soldier...

They are out there. Jesus, the Word has provided us protection, thank you God. Demons have many forms. God bless

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4:1

"I like this one, they the saints, will see his face. And will have the name of God in their foreheads... Same thing here, Preterist saying we are in the New Jerusalem, take away from the saints their ability to see Jesus Christ, when we get to the New Jerusalem. Remember the song, Oh i want to see him, and look apon his face?" I LOVE this one, thank you fellowservant!

Time to weed out the frauds. Permanent ban.

GOD is Truth and only Truth is to be spoken on Talk Jesus

I agree Chad . Jesus did not misuse the word when he was confronted by satan on the mountain , and you should not either . Of course some may say this is a close-minded site . Of course we are ! The word tells us to cast down every thought [ mind ] that exalts itself against God [ the word ] ! Thanks again for keeping it Jesus !!! :thumbs_up Mike

ok First thing I want to say is that good job!

Second what about

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour no one has knowledge, not even the angels in heaven, or the Son, but the Father only.

So was Jesus saying here he didn't know when He would return? Could someone also explain the verse about this generation will not taste death until my return?

Also another thought None of them tasted "death" if the Had Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at the time of their "natural"death.

See when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we "die" to our old and birthed into new . So when Jesus said that some of you will not taste death before His return well that was because they then would die to the flesh but not natural death.

Am I making sense? I really was seeking what to say and this is what came out. I pray I worded it right! God Bless

You are making allot of sense ! Jesus took deaths hold from satan , and through him , we have eternal life . But our natural bodies will die . But our Spirit will be alive with Christ . Great point JLU ! Mike  :boy_hug:

Amen Solider :)

God will move like a stormy sea through Talk Jesus. I feel it in my heart.

I'm a sinner saved by Grace (sort of off topic, but felt the need to repeat this honest truth).

False Teaching?

Ive been reading these threads for a couple hours now, and these are just a few observations ive made: First, arent these threads under the sub-heading of "STUDY," not "TEACHING"? So why then are members being banned for "false teachings." Are they not here like anyone else to discuss what they are STUDYING. Who are any of us to say that their studies are not as valid as another. Who will stand up and condemn someone for not listening to the Holy spirits guidance in their OWN PERSONAL STUDY? Why should we pretend to know what the Spirit is doing or not doing in another believers personal relationship with Christ.

Sadly, it seems, this is what i see taking place in a lot of these posts.

As long as we are using scripture to support what we believe the Spirit is showing us in our studies, then why cant we discuss and "sharpen" one another instead of "stabbing" eachother with accusations of heresy.

I guess this is one of the posts that disheartens me Chad. We cant be the Holy Spirit for someone else, accusing another believer of not seeking God. Its very hurtful im sure for shaggy and others to be told (implied) that they are not humbling themselves before God and seeking wisdom because they do not agree with your interpretations of scripture.
I would hope that you as the Elder and Creator of this site would want to show discretion and tactfulness (a.k.a. being an example) by creating an atmosphere of brotherly love among this sites members, and accepting each believer as perfect in thier own relationship in Christ.

"If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know" 1 corinthians 8:2

Actually, "Fides quaerens intellectum" was a saying of Anselm of Canterbury, meaning: "Faith Seeking Understanding". A saying which I would hope describes every believers relationship with Christ.

Where was someone accused of "not seeking God"? I didn't see that in the quote. As far as accepting each believer as perfect in their own relationship in Christ, that sounds as though you think that everyone has reached maturity in Christ and there's nothing to work on. Sounds like an easy gospel to me. Please explain this if you don't mind, I don't want to misunderstand you.

Jiggyfly, if you tell someone to "seek God 100%," and then call them "frauds" and accuse them of "false teachings" and ban them, i interpret that as accusing someone of "not seeking God" in addition to calling them a heretic!

As to "viewing someone as perfect in their own personal relationship to Christ." I am by no means saying that we are all perfect in our relationships with Christ, no one is. But rather that God is the Author and Perfector of our faith, and God's will will ultimately be completed in each of our lives, meaning that wherever we are in our walk, God in some way is working through us and molding us through His sanctifying mercy. Thus we shouldnt revile another believer for having whatever amount of knowledge or understanding God has chosen to reveal to him, because that is where God has him at this time, God isnt finished with us yet.

"and whom he predestined, these he also called; and whom he called, these he also justified; and whom he justified, these he also glorified. Romans 8:30"

Please lets look at this clearly !! he was teaching that Christ has returned! What does the Bible say about people who give false teaching?

Pe 2:1 But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

2Pe 2:2 And a great number will go with them in their evil ways, through whom the true way will have a bad name.

2Pe 2:3 And in their desire for profit they will come to you with words of deceit, like traders doing business in souls: whose punishment has been ready for a long time and their destruction is watching for them.

Here are some points of what a false teacher is (Got this info out of my study bible)

1) they cause division

2)Cause offence to the truth

Rom 16:17 Now, it is my desire, brothers, that you will take note of those who are causing division and trouble among you, quite against the teaching which was given to you: and keep away from them.

3) They dont serve God

Rom 16:18 For such people are not servants of the Lord Christ, but of their stomachs; and by their smooth and well-said words the hearts of those who have no knowledge of evil are tricked.

4) serve their belly

5)Use slick tongue to decieve

6)Bring in heresies (note scrpiture 2Peter2:1)

Now Chad owns this site and he has the responsibility of keeping it "clean" if you have a problem with brothers and sisters calling someone on the carpet for what it appears they are than you need to take it up with God.

God Bless!
