There is no trinity in John 1:1

Tell God that. When you capitalize the word, its a particular god. In this case its the God of all gods
That's what we do. But think about what you wrote, "the God of all gods", That proves my point. Think about Hinduism. They too would capitalize the word God when referring to their ultimate God. But they aren't referring to the God of Isreal.

John 1:1 does not say the Word was a god...It says He was God
I guess I shouldn't feel this way but I do get tired of explaining this to everyone. Maybe people really don't know about it so here goes. I don't know if you know that there is a definite article (the) in Greek but not an indefinite article (a). Because of this if you are talking about the God Jehovah you would use the definite article before God and if you are talking about a god you would leave it out as John did in John 1:1 when he said the word was (no definite article) god. Of the 5 times in verse that he mentioned "god" or "word" the only place he left it out was when he said the word as (no def. art.) god.

Anytime that the definite article is used before Theos this is speaking about "the God" Jehovah, the almighty God and true God. If the definite article is not before Theos then it would most likely be a god" as Strong's says. Such as Acts 12:22; 28:3-6 "It is a god speaking." “He is a god.” Looks like it is in harmony with both Greek grammar and Bible teaching to speak of the Word as, not God, but “a god" as in John 1:1.

Ok So if it bothers you call God by His name....and the Hindu god is not the God of all gods...he's just an impostor

Hmm I don't know if you know....I read the KJV, and one or two other versions of the bible....I don't care about the Greek....The Word was/is God Until the Word teaches me different
Bereshis (in the Beginning) was the Dvar Hashem [YESHAYAH 55:11; BERESHIS 1:3], and the Dvar Hashem was agav (along with, etzel, Mishle 8:30;30:4) Hashem, and the Dvar Hashem was nothing less, by nature, than Elohim! [Psa 56:11(10); Yn 17:5; Rev. 19:13 i.e., the Ma’amar Memra]

The point is that the word god is a title. Just because someone says god, it doesn't necessitate that they are referring to the God of Israel. This is one reason so many get confused about John 1:1. They conflate the title God with the person of (God) the Father.

"I don't care about the Greek". Well my friend, that subjects you to the thoughts of others.

You don't care about the Greek and you use the KJV. Too bad.

That's ok....The Lord promised me fifty years ago that He would be my teacher...and He has been faithful to that promise
I've known a lot of people that told me the Lord told me this or that but I don't think it works our 95% if the time if ever, so it turns out they are fooling themselves. But good luck with that anyway.

John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

1 John 2:27

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

There are several other times God promises to be our teacher and teach us His Word...Dig them out and learn them....If you will not believe HIM there is no way you can learn from Him.

Intellectually, there is no way you can understand the things of the spirit...you have to come to Him in spirit and in truth.

1 Corinthians 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Romans 8:5-10

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

The Jehova Witness preaches "another Jesus" that is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Apostle Paul warned the Church about such people.

2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2Co 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2Co 11:13 These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

They preach/teach a different Gospel, having a different spirit, and a false counterfeit Jesus!

It could be argued that the gospel preached today is another gospel.

God or the Word?

They are the same thing. Jesus isn't ink on papyrus pages obviously.
But every word in this Book is the very essence and character of God.
The written/spoken word is God.

I've heard the "Logos" argument many times. But it doesn't matter what the word here is...
It could say God was a hamster, or a unicorn, or a loaf of bread.... whatever it is was.. it was God.

John 1:1; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2; He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3; All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Why does it say "was", for the same reason it says "In the beginning". In context, it's talking about ages, eons, millennia ago.
He was God then, and He is God now.

The Word of God is singular not plural. Jesus is NOT the words found in scripture, He is the singular Word of God that speaks the words of God plural.
