The world has various ideas about who and what a “Christian” is or isn’t. Some think a Christian is anyone born into a Christian-professing family and christened by a priest or minister. Others say a Christian is one who has “given his heart to the Lord” and is “born again”—or perhaps one who simply claims to be a Christian.
Is it possible, however, for someone to live and die assuming that he or she is a Christian—only to find out in the Judgment that God never recognized their brand of “Christianity”? Christ, in fact, warned of that very possibility in Matthes 7:21-23.

I think the truth lies with in these 2 following verses:
2 Timothy 1:14
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you--guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
2 Corinthians 1:22
set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Truly, when you believe and recieve God's free gift of grace, he gives you the Holy Spirit to live in you.
Who can honestly witness that. I feel that I can, I remember the day and how I felt changed but I honestly can discribe how it happens. I can't tell anyone that I saw it happen. Hopefully, others can see Christ in me but they really can't see him, only assume my actions represent that truth.

I have faith that when I see God at Judgement, he will take one look ,see the Holy Spirit in me and say: 'Well done, my good and faithful servant".
Only God can look into you and see the Holy Spirit; only God can say who and what is a True Christian! God deposited him there and only God can see him!

there are many points written in GODS word--I think Jesus summed it up nicely at Matt 7:21--- Those who do the will of my Father in heaven will enter his kingdom-- As well Jesus summed how to do that up nicely as well---Man does not live by bread alone, but by every utterance from God--- ot-nt---- so one knows for sure--Jesus real teachers teach every utterance from God--this must be done over and over, because it is not that easy to remember every utterance learning just 1 time--I have learned every utterance 5 times or more and still sometimes I find things I missed, yet I have been taught them before.-- its very wise to keep learning every utterance over and over.

Fruits can also be decieving in that someone can do the right thing externally but for the wrong internal intentions. It is not what people do for they do much for appearance only but to do good simply for the sake of good and not expecting or wanting any thing in return is God glorified for your actions. Satan can seem like an angel of light and give fruits similar to good fruits from outter appearance but his fruits are rotten inside from pride and self seeking intentions which spoils fruit before they bring nourishment for your soul. Christians should not be religious, none are flawless for they are man made, Jesus is found everywhere if you seek him as a humble servant of love forsaking all you ever "knew" and replacing it with the Spirit of God which is similar to Jesus and a guide into your faith as comfort and encouragement, giving understanding to all freely that but seek His Spirit in trust and love through the example our savior so perfectly set. We cant be perfect like our Redeemer but we are counted perfect by his sacrifice which to all that accept his mercy and TRY to live in rightousness then those who sincerely TRY will be counted Holy at judgement simply by Faith in God which did alone deem Abraham worthy. Love and seek God through Jesus example as best as you can, and God knows when you decieve yourself in rationalization , but his forgiveness is unending and as long as you are seeking him then you are a Christian or Christ's Son so to speak and just as Jesus only did what he saw the Father do, we should do the same for Jesus is our sight into the the Most Highs divine design and his perfect will. God bless us all abundantly and Glory to He whom is, was, and forever will be my EEverything, amen.

No, then it is not a fruit of the Holy Spirit! Jesus said: (paraphrasing) " With you in me and I in you, you will have many fruits, without me , you can do nothing!

No fruit or interpretation of scripture from a negative or resulting in a negative is from the Holy Spirit!

To an outsider from the Holy Spirit many think they see fruit where we see corruption. Many just don't see clearly the difference between what the World shows as good and true good fruits as we understandin Christ Jesus, non belilevers lack spiritual discernment and fall prey to the Satans acting like Angels of light. Only the Holy Spirit gives our gifts to see, many are led blindly by others who cant see. I understand your valid point I should have just said before wolves in sheeps clothing lol Glory to God

I never meant to say those false fruits were fruits of the Spirit, only that there are "supposed" fruits this life told me were good until I met the Lord and was shown the truth, for I surely was decieved by false "fruits" or what I blindly perceived as such for i had no guide at the time to show me, ignorantly i naturally trusted what i was taught

I never meant to say those false fruits were fruits of the Spirit,
Never thought you did, just the opposite...sorry if I left that impression!
We are talking to the unbeliever when we say, no matter what you might think is a good work, it is nothing to God but a "filthy rag" when done without the Holy Spirit in you!

The "fruit" of the Spirit can not be "faked". Someone who has the Holy Spirit in them can easily detect that same Spirit in another person.
The fruit of the Spirit is not the fruit of the person, it comes from the "seed" which is the Word of God.

Seems you are comparing apples to apples....lol I mean fruti to fruit. Actually your are. Fruits of the flesh vs the fruits of the spirit.

We are as filthy rags without Gods spirit cleansing us. Good deeds are works that will or will not get burned with the rubble.

Ther ones who will here depart from me I never knew you are the ones WHO HAD NOT EXCEPTED Jesus as their lord and savior.
When we stand before God there is ONLY ONE THING that will cover us or declare us inocent or worthy to enter in. That is THE BLOOD OF JESUS...No Blood.......No Enter.....

A true Christian is one who loves the Lord God with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. He puts his entire life, trust in his hands, and believes every Word of God, as a child would do with his parents.

I like to keep it simple , when referring to fruits, we should only be talking about the fruits of the Holy Spirit through us. We are the branch and he is the vine, it is his fruit, and anything else, is not a fruit!

Good fruits and rotten fruits RJ ! :whistle

As I understand the term, Christian, it means one who is Christ-like. Not everyone bearing label is. Jesus simplified things into the two great commandments:

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matt 22:37-40

If we are able to or are sincerely striving to make obeying those two commandments before all other things, would that make us Christians in the sense of being Christ-like?

there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed. one may put on a good show of face, but God will reveal what does not bare witness with the Spirit; spirit confess, did Jesus Christ come in the flesh? yes, yes He did. any spirit that wont confess is antichrists. He said, if you are not for me, you are against me; now, the same bare true with each other, because He is in me and I am in Him, and we go unto the Father.
