I don't disregard scripture, those are words that you have attempted to put into my mouth. Its unwise to do so and I forgive you for it, but don't do it again.

That's all dandy, and I agree with what you say to an extent. But if we follow the example given by Jesus - scripture and the prophets inspired to write them are the words of God. Even God Himself quoted scripture when rebuking Satan Himself. If God sees the need to use it, how is any unholy man today better?
These are just my sentiments. I don't believe in telling people, "I don't care what scripture says, I hear God's voice without it."
Not only Jesus, but no disciple of His that walked with Him on earth disregarded the weight of His written words. It is the wise man that regards these words.
Matthew 7:24
John 1:1
To each his own, but as food for thought... If you had no scripture, you had not known the Nephilim ever existed. How then can you disregard the scripture on what they are?
God can speak to a person in any manner that He decides is appropriate. What book did Abraham read or even the shepherd boy, David? The Bible is a special gift and like all gifts God has given men, it is to be used, but it is not a god. It is a dead letter according to its own words without the quickening of the Spirit.
Quitting is never the answer, my friend. Believe me, for I have tried it. Step back if you need to and then re-involve as the Holy Spirit directs you. Every part of the Body of Christ has a purpose and it is not to be dead appendage. If a person is right-handed he may always lead with his right hand, but his left hand is a very necessary part. Any who has lost a natural hand probably knows that he will increase and improve the use of the remaining one, but he will never have the potential that he had with two.Reading my words in Amadeus' post it seems some of my words and intentions in some regards or ways were not expressed very well on my part.
I have apologized knowing I often make mistakes in choice of words and I sincerely mean it just in case it sounded insincere prior.
I do not care to discuss with anyone here, anything else, of any sort though. It deeply hurts me when these things come to pass. More than you would know without seeing me in person. If you could hear my voice, you likely would know and understand I don't mean anything ugly whatsoever.
I think this is a lesson that this time... the forums should be completely off-limits to my opinions for life without return.
God bless both of you; you are my brothers regardless.
Amadeus, Brad, Ceptor....
Come on brothers. I might be sticking up for Ceptor a bit, and I know he hasn't asked me to..... but if ya'll could see his heart you would know that when he says sorry he means it. Why the attacks guys?
Jesus longs for unity in the Body of Christ... lets bring it. We don't need division. We can have discussions with Love.
Amadeus, I am fairly new.... but I lived under someone taking scripture out of context as well as teaching me based on what they "experienced in God speaking to them" which now I find (based on a faith in Jesus and the BIBLE) was really not of God. So, yes God can speak to a person in any manner..... but if He speaks to them, won't it be able to be backed up by scripture? In other words, God would not show one person something without showing others or backing it up with scripture right?

No one is setting the Bible aside. I read it every day, and I believe that Brad does,
I know I never said anything like that. I doubt that Brad, who I have known for a few years, did.
What do humans call the people they "helped" create, even if they were turned over to an adoption agency? Even if they are not currently raising them, what do they call them?
Sorry my friend....I find this particular post confusing...Help out an old man?Correction to post #87 from "like Jesus on the Christ" to "like Jesus on the Cross"
Absolutely, sister! No attacks intended. Sometimes it is necessary to discuss the issues even as you are doing here with your post. All of us still can learn from one another. I really do love Ceptor. He has many good things to contribute and has contributed. The Truth is not only one man's way... not mine, and not Ceptor's. For Elijah it was the still small voice that he was to follow, but our pathways are not all the same as we are not all the same part of the Body of Christ... but we all do have the same Light before us.
Atheists read and study the Bible and use what they learn to attack believers. How is that possible? It is possible because they come to the scripture with the wrong spirit for the wrong purpose. Only through the Holy Spirit can anyone find God's Truth in the Word. The Bible sitting on the shelf unopened is like Jesus on the Christ after he died but before he resurrected. It is a dead carcass. When someone picks it up with an open heart the Holy Spirit will be there with him to reveal what God provides.
LOL They call them their sons or daughters. But what's your point?
Ah! OK I call my daughters my daughters because I fathered them...They are my progeny....God adopted us when we were born again and by blood covenant we are God's progeny. This covenant relationship is stronger than being born of an Earthly father. You know of course that covenant blood is thicker,as they say, than birth water.Just follow the lead if you will... why do they call them sons or daughters despite never being in their lives and perhaps never being able to be in their lives, why still call them sons or daughters? Is a son or daughter simply one the same who obeys you?
A Christians relationship to God is quite a bit different then the sons and daughters I was referring to, but for us to think of all non Christians as trash that God has abandoned is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong to me. Its like the Pharisee at the temple saying, Thank you God that I am not like that sinner. It is like the brother who is angry that His father welcomed His "son" back despite him not receiving his inheritance.
This was a typo I didn't catch until it was too late to correct the original so I submitted another post explaining the error.Sorry my friend....I find this particular post confusing...Help out an old man?
Well that's a relief! I just got in from a quick jaunt to Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and then I traveled a little bit....I'm a bit tired. I was worried that I might be missing something. LOLThis was a typo I didn't catch until it was too late to correct the original so I submitted another post explaining the error.
I am thankful I don't need to travel. Not only am I a home body, but I tend to fall asleep at the wheel on journey's much longer than an hour in time.Well that's a relief!
