Women teaching. Disobedient to God?

Never heard of this book of thomas!
But God is the FATHER of Spiritual beings and He does not count the woman less in the Spirit! He can work though Any if they are willing?

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

The carnal thinking does not Please GOD1
The world judges by the outward form!
God judges by the Spirit , As we should!
All carnal thinking will Fail!

All Spiritual thinking with be truth!
But our spiritual thinking must be led and revealed by the HOLY SPIRIT!

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

the Natural man , thinks carnal!

The spiritual man , thinks spiritual!

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

This is Why we have all this division!

The young christian will think mostly carnal ! The mature christian will lean to the spiritual thinking!

We Should All pray , that the LORD gives us a LOVE of the TRUTH!
It Very important to have this LOVE within us!

The same God that speaks through a man can speak thru a woman. The first person to speak the gospel was a woman when she said ''He is risen!'' WE must remember that back in the Bible days, women were considered property, so they ewer not held in high regard.. To say that a woman can not teach the word of God is a lie straight from the pits of hell

Amen! Holy Spirit never checks the gender before He pours out His gifts upon us.

Too bad people check the gender before they open the ears of their hearts to the message God is speaking.

Sorry to be quite frank here but the Bible expressly states that women should not teach or usurp authority over the man. The Bible plainly speaks for itself (it needs no interpretation) and therefore that should be the end of the matter, but it isn't.

I've heard people say that Paul was a woman hater or that the scriptures doesn't really mean that. You might as well give up Christianity altogether. You either believe it all or don't believe it period. There is no middle ground. The Bible means exactly what it says. In the beginning God gave Adam and Eve His Word to live by. In the middle of the Bible Jesus said that man should not live by bread alone but by His every Word. At the end of the Bible, in Revelation, it says that anyone who adds to the Word plagues are added to them and if anyone takes away from the Word then their names are taken out of the Book of Life. This is not something to be taken lightly. The Lord Jesus Christ will judge this world by His Word, not by some church with their own thoughts or ideas on what they think God means. It's the devil's job to cause people to bypass the Word of God. That's what he did to cause Eve to reason and consequently fall taking Adam and creation with her. Just one word is all it takes to fall away from God.

It says in Timothy that all scripture is inspired of God. I think it is better to take God at His Word and not listen to what people think scriptures mean unless, of course, they are saying under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit exactly what the scripture teaches. We always to have to line up what people say with the Word, not the other way round. We are not meant to apply our own thoughts and ideas. We can debate and discuss scripture but we should only believe and take God at His Word. If the Bible says women should not teach then they should not teach.

God Bless!

For those believers who consider gender to be a large issue in their worship, how do they deal with hermaphrodites? Or, in this case, could a hermaphrodite preach/teach or not?

She might have to give himself permission.

May God send in men to replace the women currently preaching and teaching and fill their shoes; and until He does, God bless them.

God is not powerless, as many seem to make Him.

Missing The Point

For those who are strictly opposed to Woman preaching, don't let this take away from the preaching of the word.

Personally, I would rather have a Man fulfill that role but, I am not going to lose sleep over it. I have seen plenty of Women preacher's do a better job of preaching and pastoring a congregation than many Men!

With regards to the written word and conducting their lives accordingly, Man has and is doing many more egregious things than allowing Women to become Pastors.

Because a woman preached a certain (true) message and someone in the congregation accepted her Pulpit Call and therefore was “Born Again” and saved, is that person any less saved? Certainly not!
That person, being now saved, did God allow His works through that Woman Preacher? You bet!!

Man couldn’t perfectly do the 10 commandments. Paul said that love replaced the 10 commandments and he listed many types of Love in 1 COR 13 and, we are not capable doing those perfectly either.

My point is to stay focused, and give thanks to God for Jesus Christ because in Him there is no condemnation for those in Christ, whether a Woman preacher or not.

Again, I am not particularly in favor of Women Pastors but, if I fall into that situation, I’ll probably ask the Lord about it.
My bet is that He will tell me to role my sleeves up and help her preach the gospel!

Husbands and wives. Family, children. "a woman should be submissive to her own husband"

Paul said, "I desire therefore", it was not a commandment from God.

He also said "And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence."

Whatever was going on at that time, was why he was saying it. It says nothing about the Lord commanding it forever and ever that women are to keep silent and never teach in the presence of men.

He also said, "God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory."

But people still say God was not Jesus, and Jesus was not God.

He also said, "If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself."

The Bible is a complete "Belief in Christ", one word, or one scripture should never make a whole new doctrine.

Paul also said, "O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith"

In 2Timothy Paul wrote, "Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer."

"For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

There is always going to be someone who takes things out of context and creates a "new" Jesus system, a new "real" church, the "for real congregation". When Paul was writing these letters, he had no idea that they would become the New Testament. When he sent them to the churches he was addressing, they already knew who Jesus was, and they were reading what we call the old testament, and remembering the teachings of Christ.

Like I said, there are real things in the bible, things that are all a part of the bread of life, not just these crackers people get hung up on. If people would just read what they are reading instead of reading what they have been taught to think, everyone might learn something new, with out a women teaching them, but the word itself. It's by revelation, if you don't want it, you will never get it.

If someone is content to think covering your head means something material, so be it. Serve the Lord.
If someone is content to think that a woman must never cut her hair because it is the covering, go for it, but serve the Lord.
If a woman feels pants are for men only, wear your skirts, and serve the Lord.

How great is our Joy in the Lord if we have time to condemn the whole world for these petty ideas of a work towards salvation?

The truth is in the Book, just have to search it out.

Couldn't agree more....Amen Varacity. Correct me if we're wrong (my boss and I are discussing this very issue)...the Bible states that the Lord will pour out his spirit to every man, woman, and child during the last days ....I believe this is found in Acts, Chapter 2. Also, take a look at Joel, Chapter 2 as well. Please take a look at Romans Chapter 12, beginning with verse 3. No where in this chapter does it state that these gifts are for men only. If the Holy Spirit gives you a gift (teaching, healing, showing acts of kindness, etc...) you are to act on these gifts, for God has ordained it.

The only argument here is that women can't teach religious matters--there is nothing wrong with women teaching male children in a scholastic setting, correct? Or women teaching male children at a religious school?

Just inquiring because I am about four months away from my teaching license myself...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, or any form of teaching for that matter.
In 2 Timothy 1:5, Paul commended Lois and Eunice for teaching the scriptures to Timothy.
Priscilla is commended by Paul as one of his "fellow workers" in Romans 16:3. Did you know that
in 1 Corinthians 16:16, Paul urges his followers to submit to "everyone who helps in the work and labors"?
We can clearly see that he asked the early church to acknowledge the authority of the men AND women who worked with him.

Congratulations by the way on getting your license soon!!

My parents and I recently had a conversation about this issue and I think I may have made a decent point.

Alright, so let's start. The Bible says that women may not teach....
Jesus tells all believers to spread the gospel.

Example 1. Christian God loving woman is a pastor/minister and has brought thousands to Jesus and salvation. Her disobedience to God by teaching is a sin right? Sin is sin.

Example 2. Holier than though Christian woman doesn't teach, and really doesn't do anything for Christ. She watches smutty soap operas. An addiction to watching immoral behavior on TV is a sin (in my opinion)

Stealing is a sin.

Both women die. Is the female teacher saved despite her blatant disobedience to God? I mean, she brought countless souls to Christ while the other woman who considered herself a better Christian spent more time watching sm ut and borderline porn.

Sorry for the silly sounding example. I know I'm trying to prove a point that Sin = Sin = Sin, but at the same time I'm trying to use sins that are considered "not as bad"

If both women are saved, will the woman that taught be rewarded by God for saving souls? Those names were written in the book of life by the hand of God. If he wrote their names there, then he knew HOW they would come to him, and you can't say that no one has come Jesus after hearing a woman teach. So women teaching bad, but since people can be saved from their words God allows it? Would the woman be punished despite doing God's will ? (It is God's will if those names were indeed in the book of life. Those souls could have heard the gospel some other way, yet an omniscient God knew they would believe in his son through this woman's mouth....)

Any thoughts, or am I just mad. (not angry. Loony)

Women back when in that part of the bible were in complete submission to their husbands, they called him Lord. And he was their lord, as that was the custom of all middle eastern cultures. It would be a disgrace for a women to get up and to teach men, or even speak aloud in the churches with a question, they were supposed to ask their husbands at home. Also, about women teaching and saving souls, last time I looked satan was not out trying to save souls. If a woman (like Joyce Meyer) has the full support of her husband and he helps her in the ministry, then so what? You are hung up on this one verse friend. And you should ask the Lord for wisdom. If God talked through a donkey, then He can talk through a woman as well. Joyce Meyer does not try to have authority over her husband or any other man while she is teaching, she is just speaking the word of God. God will use anyone. What about the woman at the well in Samaria? She ran to her town and told everyone about Jesus. Please pray and ask the Lord for wisdom. God bless.
