★ Christians AREN'T perfect!

Yes , in complete agreement, you are exactly right , all this is possible but, back to the original thread, as a Christian, are you always perfect in every way?

Brother, my answer to this question was previously presented as Job's answer in post #18:

"If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse." Job 9:20

In other words if we answer your question with a "no" then no it is. If on the other hand we answer your question with a "yes", without being told specifically by God to do so, likely our pride has made us a liar.

So let God ask that question if it needs to be asked for who but He really knows the answer about me or about anyone?

By all means follow God always! Best of wishes on your spiritual journey!

Brother this flesh is filthy; however, of one will obey the Word and deny the flesh, like it says to do, forsake this temporary life, labor not for the meat the parish, pick up our cross and follow Him; then one would know with God, all things are possible.

Blessings to you on your pursuit of perfection in this life!

No human can be 100% perfect.
The hardest being to overcome is the self being; that is why we must be born again. We can't get there through anything of ourself, praise God for Jesus; He gave His life for mine, and only because God loves His Son does He have mercy on us. So be Christ like... be perfect and holy as He is perfect and holy.
We can't clean self up enough that God would even accept us, only because we have entered into HIM, being born of water and of the SPIRIT are we spared.
It is not a physical, external thing; it is a spiritual, eternal thing. Amen

spirits confess did Jesus Christ come in the flesh?

Yes, you are flesh being; I am a spiritual being.
Do you know Him?
He is in me, I am in Him, and we go unto the Father.

None that I have ever seen or heard of except Jesus himself!
Perhaps more of us need Jesus to touch our eyes yet again:

"And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly." Mark 8:23-25

This is my eldest brother, right there. Praise God. Yes, praise God for vision, praise God for hearing. Amen

All true but, what does this have to do with the main thread?

Trust God. When one has received The baptism He has for you, the true baptism, one doesn't get to side ways with God. A great heaviness will come upon the heart. My face is in the dirt, crying out Anna Father, now I have to go back and make something right.

Yes, He is perfect and He is in you, but are you found in Him? Is He the Head, or you?

Man has tamed every creature on earth, but the tongue has no man tamed. I believe God is the only one that can tame an unruly beast such as the tongue. And what the mouth speaks is coming from the heart. Is your heart and mind focused on Him, or not? If thine eye be single thy whole body is full of light.

What is consuming your heart? God or self?
You better humble yourself before the all seeing, all hearing, all knowing God.
He seen you, He heard you, He knows the intentions of your heart. He is the only One that can justify what we say and what we do; best be stepping in Him and not yourself.

How did Jesus appear to be to those that wanted to go with Him, but first let me go bury my father. Jesus said let the dead bury their dead, follow me.
Ouch! How heartless they must have thought He was/is.

Or when His mother and brothers stood outside the crowd desiring to speak with Him and He was told of it. What did He say? My mother and my brothers and my sister's are those that hear the Word of God and do it.

Do you know Him?
Has He shown you the Way, the Truth and the Life? It is in Him you know? He is not of this world and His Kingdom is not of this world. So if you have not been made perfect in Him, with Him, by Him, FOR HIM, then you must still be of this world.
Has He not lifted you up and set you in heavenly places? Has the daystar not risen up in your heart?
He is above all things and all things are below Him.
Is He not in you?

Jesus thought it not robbery to be equal to Father, yet a servant or a disciple knows their place. We are not above our Master but we have been made ONE in Him, with Him, by Him, for Him.
Only because He is ALIVE in me, am I found ALIVE in Him.

Has He taken your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh?

I believe the Word. I believe what He has shown me and minstered to me about self, about the world, about the churches of this world, about the enemy, and about Himself, His Life, His Way, His Truth.

We are perfect IN HIM.
To say We are not goes against the Word of God and is a lie of the deceiver. The devil wants you to believe you will never be perfect! I can hear The devil scream it. So as long as he can keep you believing his lie, you will never do anything for God but sit on a pew.

So, as each has believed, so be it unto them. I believe "WITH GOD, all things are possible".

You are IN HIM, or you are not. You shall know them by their fruits.
All praise glory and honor be unto God. Amen

All true but, what does this have to do with the main thread?
The verses I quoted show me that Jesus can perfect our vision.

As to sidestepping the main thread, the title of the thread is "Christians aren't perfect".

My point is that while some, or even many, may not be perfect, Jesus is well able to perfect a willing heart.

If others, which may include you and me, are unable to see those who are perfect in the eyes of God, perhaps we all need another touch. Without God's eyes there are many things that we cannot see. One of things we may not be able to see is a perfect Christian standing before us.

Remember the question of Pontius Pilate? "What is truth"? Was it a foolish question considering that Truth was standing right before him? Pilate was blind and so are, I believe, too many who bear the label, Christian, today.

Who says that the "face to face" cannot occur before the dirt is shoveled on our faces? Not God! Not Jesus! Who else should I pay attention to...?

Yes, He is perfect and He is in you, but are you found in Him? Is He the Head, or you
Exactly so!

We are perfect IN HIM.

IN HIM is the key, isn't it? People too often get the idea that once you are "in Him" you are always and forever "in Him", but that is not how it works. Jesus came and opened the Door and He was and is that Door. We have to walk through it and NOT keep retracing our steps. He will walk through with us and if need be even carry us through, but He will not force himself on anyone. The choice is always ours.

To say We are not goes against the Word of God and is a lie of the deceiver. The devil wants you to believe you will never be perfect! I can hear The devil scream it. So as long as he can keep you believing his lie, you will never do anything for God but sit on a pew.

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matt 18:20

We are perfect IN HIM.
God credits us with the perfection of Jesus in us, not ourselves.
  • Are you more perfect than St. Paul...what does it mean when he said: Romans 7:14-20 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.c]" data-fn="#fen-NIV-28110c">[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.....(1) Why did he struggle doing what was right?
  • What does it mean. " when the perfection comes" if we already can have it, why is it yet to come. In this verse, (2) what has happened for the "perfection" to finally come? (3) What does it mean to see "face to face"...with who? 1 Corinthians 13: 8-12 but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
