★ Christians AREN'T perfect!

This is why I love your posts as they are always asking a good question when I became Christian I took a lot of flack from my friends and especially my family they do not support my beliefs as uk especially Liverpool is full of Catholic plus my aunties married to a Mormon so it is awkward as I have expressed I am nowhere near perfect The saviour is the only perfect one . In the uk it is not cool so they say to be Christian especially where I live X

All you have to tell them is. "No I'm not perfect. I'm just forgiven."
Then the door will open. For they will either go "bah" or "what?" etc.
The opportunity to presenting them the Gospel. The Good News!

For as Brother Amadeus said in quoting Peter and underlining a part of Acts 3:6
You have the best news that anyone has ever heard and to that a sinner will ever hear.
"Your Forgiven!"

Do this in love, humility, compassion and these friends can become your Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus.
If not.....then at least the seed has been planted for another to water.

Then I guess you can follow it up with ,"Do you want to be forgiven too, or are you perfect?"

And LordKnows, speak for yourself some of us are perfect. Loll. I'm just kidding of course. Yea sometimes it seems like people watch you critically when they know you are a Christian. I just use it to hold myself accountable to doing the right thing, and I just try to serve them all the more.

But yea, we can't live our life for men, we just need to focus on Jesus and not our critics.

Bump

Two things. Someone had asked can you be perfect 24/7. Do they mean can you be a christian 24/7 well if you are born again Christ is in you 24/7 he will never leave you nor forsake you. There is nowhere God is not...when you are saved you have that connection when you didnt before.

Even when you are sleeping God is there and even when you are in the dark and resting the spirit is growing and inside of you, even praying and interceding for you.

Is our flesh weak, yes it is but that does not mean it is not growing and being perfected, made perfect. We often. cant see it and unbelievers cant see it but God does see it and He does call us perfect. It starts with our hearts.

ANother thing is when we die to self our old flesh and sins are done away with and we are born to new life (this takes place in baptism)..there is a definite end to the old and the raising/putting on the new.

Is it possible to be perfect yes if you allow God to perfect you, instead of trying so hard and continuing to wear your old clothes, trying to patch them up. Let Him clothe you.
