The blood of Jesus cleanses us from PAST sins. We must confess future ones in order to receive forgiveness for them.

Hopefully one will ask Christ to Come into them and BE THEM so that they don't have future sins eh? The gospel wouldn't mean much to them if they didn't reach this maturity. Otherwise they'd still be a servant to sin.

We either are as this;

(Rom 8:1)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Or we are as this;

(Heb 10:29)
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

It's a choice. I choose Jesus :)

When jesus paid the high price for our salvation we dont live under sin rulers...free to worship..free to follow God

We can overcome ALL sin in this life.

I don't see that it's instantaneously. Picking up our cross daily is an indication of a daily laying down of our lives. Peter gives us steps in order to reach perfection. If it was instant, perseverance wouldn't even be a word. It takes time to attain to Christ.

Yes. Each man in his own order...

This whole thread sounds like huge legalism thread when Jesus sacrafice isnt enough. As if God doesnt forgive sins?

Can i ask are you all speaking in tongues and being HS filled?
Whom God has justified man cannot condemn...

Do you no longer sin?

I did not ask if you should, I asked if you do... Its a simple YES or NO answer

Is this a question we should ask too casually or too insistently of someone? Someone who is in the process of overcoming sin in himself by following the lead of the Holy Ghost, may find pride in his heart when he attempts to answer this question.

Everyone who has ever repented and received the Holy Ghost has had very likely, at least, moments of sinlessness. Perhaps asking a person this question at the wrong moment would put him right in the middle of the sin of pride because he thought he would answer, YES, his head swelled up at the idea (figuratively).

Are we growing toward an unending sinlessness? I believe that we should be, but should we tempt others unnecessarily by asking them such a direct question?

As we still are in our sinful body we will fight against flesh every single day...the good thing is sind doesnt rule our life anymore...we are free...but to commit sin is a possibility always...until the day he comes...

I think that this statement is well said.

It is possible to sin, but it is also possible to overcome sin

i am equally confused as i was when i first looked into this thread..

by which power you overcome sin? by your own or by Holy spirit?

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..." Acts 1:8

God knows we are not pefect... our flesh is fallen... we commit sin but we are not ruled by it....
