Father's love letter

Well, I need to thank you Underhiswings for your suggestion that it could be satan. I was so frustrated because I was sure that things weren't right, but I just didn't know why or what it was.

Thank you for saying that you are proud of me. I'm not sure if you need to be proud of me, but suffice to say, when you're desperate you keep on searching.

If I go to Google, will I find Joel Osteen as you suggested? If not, how will I find this radio station? Oh and yes, I was a singer before I became ill.

I wasn't intending to be funny, but I'm glad that I brought a smile to your face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your kindness

I like listening to allworship.com which is also listed in the radio section on home page where you can choose from different Christian music to listen to here. Also if you visit the chatroom you can listen to the music in there as well.

Joel Osteen can be found through google too.

As we said before we are here to help one another and it is a privilege to serve the Lord by helping those who are new to the Christian faith.

God bless

Love in Christ dear sister  :rainbow: :rose:

Thank you for your kindness.

I'm not sure if I am going to be able to find the radio stations. Couldn't hear them just now, but will need to have another go.

Thanks for the info.

SadEyes, I'm going to offer you an allegory that might shed some light on the issue you are raising here:

One of the best known stories in the Bible is the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. In ancient Israel, when someone died, lots of spices were placed on the body and then the body was wrapped head-to-toe with strips of linen and a cloth was wrapped around the head and face and the body was laid flat.

The story goes (John 11:38-42) that Jesus had men move the huge stone that had been placed to cover the entrance to Lazarus' tomb and, standing at the entrance to the tomb, he called out loudly, "'Lazarus come out!' The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them (people at the tomb), 'Take off the grave clothes and let him go.'" (Verse 44).

When Jesus yelled, "Lazarus come out!", life instantly returned to Lazarus' body; he was awake and alert but, he was still bound up by the grave clothes,.He did not come out of the tomb walking with a normal stride, arms swinging at his side. On top of that, he could'nt see (because of the cloth that covered his face). Instead of walking, he shuffled. And he bumped into things.

He could only "steer" by fastening his attention on the sound of Jesus' voice and moving as best he could in that direction. Only when he was completely outside the tomb were the grave clothes removed so he could see and move about normally.

How does this relate to you? God has given you an emotional healing. You have felt it and you are moving in Jesus' direction. But, you are still wrapped in the grave clothes of despair and rejection. Lazarus didn't walk quickly and briskly out of his tomb; it took him awhile. By the same token, its going to take you awhile to walk out of the "tomb" of despair and rejection that you have been in for so long.

Just keep moving in the direction of Jesus' voice. In time, the grave clothes will be removed........and you'll be free!

SLE

Thank you.

That made so much sense - Good one!!!!!!!:thumbs_up

Continuing your allegory though, it would just be easier to have somebody physically guiding you in addition to following the sound of Jesus' voice.

I'm sure that as soon as the people realised what was happening, they rushed to Lazarus' side to help him.

Unfortunately, I am here by myself trying to 'shuffle forward' and finding it SO HARD!!

"In time, the grave clothes will be removed........and you'll be free!"
SpiritLed I have to say that I love your entry. However i have one objection to make and this concern your last sentence.

I believe that by confessing the name of Jesus Christ one is set free by the power of His blood. You're no longer bounded, though at that point the process of restoration has just started. As you need to be made whole God will tend to that person.

God bless you,
If i misunderstood you, please forgive me

By the way Sadeyes, the holy spirit is sufficient to provide to your spiritual needs. It does not have to be a person guiding you. God is able! Yes, He is able to see to your needs and provide. Just trust.

Ummm - I don't know if I dare ask this question, but ...

How does the holy spirit provide for my spiritual needs?

The Holy Spirit is living within you. He comforts us guides us. He is our counsellor.

John 14

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

22Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"

23Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

25"All this I have spoken while still with you. 26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Here is some more information on the Holy Spirit.
It is important to understand the Holy Spirit is truly God because of the fact that if we are born again He lives in us.

What we allow ourselves to be part of we are inviting God to be part of..

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Four important principles to remember

1) The Holy Spirit is God, but He is a Person, not a force

2) We cannot focus on the Holy Spirit too much. Why? What is the Holy Spirit’s mission? To reveal Jesus. What is Jesus mission…to reveal the Father. What about the Father…to send Jesus and the Holy Spirit so we can come to Him. Perfect Harmony. They never had a crisis management meeting in Heaven. They never tried to sit down and work things out. They never had a power struggle amongst themselves.

3) The Holy Spirit gives gifts for use in ministry and empowers effective ministry

4) The Holy Spirit is a distinct Person within the Godhead, not a force, a thing, or an "it"

Qualities that a person has…(a force or thing does not)

1) The Holy Spirit has intellect. 1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

2) The Holy Spirit has knowledge. 1 Corinthians 2:11 even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

3) The Holy Spirit has emotions. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve (lupeo (pronounced loo-peh'-o)); to make sad or sorrowful, heavy of heart) not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

4) The Holy Spirit has his own will and he makes decisions. Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia (pronounced froog-ee'-ah) and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

5) The Holy Spirit Loves. Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

Things only a person would do (a force or thing does not)

1) He teaches you things about God and yourself. John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

2) He tells the truth. John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

3) He guides. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

4) He convinces. John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

5) He prays for you. Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

6) He commands. Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Wow!

Thank you for finding that for me. It is a lot to take in and I think that I am going to have to read it through a lot of times before I can begin to understand it!!!!!!!!

:confused::confused::confused:

God WANTS YOU

I have experienced rejection all of my life and I am frightened that God has already rejected me.
You say that God loves me. How can he love me when I am so unloveable? I certainly do not feel good enough for God to love me.
I have read a lot of the posts and they make it sound so 'easy' and yet how can it be so easy when I am so bad?

hey sadeyes, as I read your post, you sound a bit like me, I've been through rejection , But I try to keep my mind on God, God care about you so much , that he would do ANYTHING to save you , and to show how much he loves you. to God you are NOT unlovable, he longs for you, he longs to take you in his arms and LOVE YOU. if you need any help, please feel free to PM me, any time, I hope this help you

Hello dear sister and I thought the same thing when I posted it for you. It is a lot to take in but we are all learning every day and these things we need to learn about in our walk with Jesus. Take your time and learn in your own way. Reading several times does help us to take things in.

Like I said before we are here to help you in your walk with Jesus.

God bless

Wow!

Ummm - I don't know if I dare ask this question, but ...

How does the holy spirit provide for my spiritual needs?

You must be a genius! [or a retired mad scientist ;)]You're asking all the right questions (lol)
I cannot really consider giving you an answer now, I'm leaving my house in a few_

However, I did realized that LadyloveJesus replied back to you, and though I haven't looked at her response yet, I am confident that she was able to help you.
Talk to you later,

First of all, thank you Minory Girl for your very kind post. I appreciate your words very much.

However, I need to ask you one question about what you wrote. You said:

" God care about you so much , that he would do ANYTHING to save you , and to show how much he loves you. to God you are NOT unlovable, he longs for you, he longs to take you in his arms and LOVE YOU."

How can God take me in his arms and love me? - Sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me. Humans have arms and then I understand your statement, but God is ... not sure (spirit?), but certainly not human so how can he take me in his arms and love me?

Underhiswings, I am not a genius! In the past week, I have felt so ignorant of everything that everybody here seems to know. I am also not a retired, sad scientist!! LoL

However, I am a person who wants to understand and so I ask questions. Some people may be fed up of my questions, but quite simply, I have nobody here to ask.

LadylovesJesus, thank you for the post about the Holy Spirit. I have read it several times today, but I am not having a good day and have been in a lot of pain, so it is not the best time to take this on board. I will try to understand it when I am feeling better.

Thanks to you all for your posts. I appreciate the time it has taken you to write them.

.......................................................................................................

Ummm ... I know that Minory Girl wrote this, but can I ask if anybody can explain to me what this means?

I think that I have seen it in other posts on this website and if that is correct, then perhaps somebody can explain to me what it means.

I have been lying in bed, feeling very weak and ill physically, but still able mentally to ponder this statement - but have got nowhere in finding an answer!

As I am lying in bed, in a lot of pain, I have to admit that I would like God to 'take me in his arms and love me', but how do I get that to happen?

God is love and God is a spirit. He has Jesus who is always with us and holds us by the hand. He is seated at the right hand of God. God is love. It is not easy to actually explain so you will understand but trust and believe that He really does hold you.

There is a song that says He's got the whole world in His hands.

Sometimes God will use a person to come and give us a hug which can be used to represent Jesus giving us a hug. Imagine yourself sitting on Jesus' lap and He puts His arms around you, how comforting is that?

His love is everywhere. He created you and the earth and all was good.

Hope this will help you sister.

God bless

Love in Christ  :rainbow: :rose:

Thank you so much for your reply - BUT THAT IS SO DISAPPOINTING!!

I was lying in bed thinking about this concept and I thought that if I did actually feel God's arms around me, I would probably scream out of sheer terror.

But then I thought that it would be such a comfort to have him holding me in his arms. I thought that it would make the pain less if he was holding me in his arms!

"Imagine yourself sitting on Jesus' lap and He puts His arms around you, how comforting is that?"

- Yes, this idea is beautiful and very comforting, but if I have got to imagine it, then it is not real.

I am devastated that it can not be real. Sorry.

What therefore is the difference between this and the idea of mind over matter?

Sorry if this is an awkward question, but I need to know, I need to understand.

There are indeed times when we can feel the presence of God on us and around us. We are not to rely on our feelings but we believe He is with us and holding us. When we draw close to Him He will draw near to us too.

As your spiritual life develops you will have the joy of feeling Him too.
Seek Him first and read His Word so that you can memorise scripture to use when you need to bring it to mind.

The Holy Spirit is living inside you. You may find this one hard to understand too. I wish I could explain things to you in an easy way.

I do not have the time to find out information tonight as I need to get to bed early so that I am up in the morning ready to go out on time.

God bless

Love in Christ  :rainbow: :rose:
