Going from the Nursery to the Garden of Faith

actually I missed that,

what I have been referring to in this whole entire thread is the fact that Bill said God called the scripture dirt (soil), That is in direct conflict to what God actually says in his word.


God call his word seed, Gods word is what grows and produces fruit in us, we are the soil and if we are good soil Gods word will produce the fruit in us, To God be the glory. Now if we say Gods word is the soil the dirt, then we get all the glory for producing the fruit. You see we are dead,, soil is dead, it the seed of God, the Holy scripture that makes us come alive and grow. We do not grow on our own, we can do nothing with out God,

Luke 8:11​

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

My question to Nick is do you not see a conflict between Gods Holy perfect word being called Dirt (soil) when God himself call it seed. DO you not see the little lie wrapped up in the truth to make it sound righteous?

It is an analogy, just like the seed, or a vine, or wineskins. Plus it is what GOD said to me. I am sorry if you can not recognize when God speaks to you, because i thought you did hear Him before.

All words who supposely coming from God must be judged from what has already been written in scripture. The foundation which the Church operates on has already been laid. There are no new revelations being revealed by God outside what has already been revealed in scripture. As Paul tells the Church to judge all prophecies. (1 Cor 14:29) with what does the Church judge all things?, The already revealed and written Word of God.

How can you judge all the words coming from God, if He has not said them yet?

Didn't Jesus say, He had more to tell us, but we were not ready for what he had to say at that time?

The Scriptures are full of analogies, parables that describe the Word of God as this or doing that. Clearly the Word of God is not dirt, and we are not seeds. The important part was what was Brother Bill attempting to say by this example? That is what is important! Or do you really think that he was actually trying to say that the Word of God "is actually dirt" and we are "actually seeds" and not using it as an example that points us to enriching ourselves and growing by taking in God's Word?

How many preachers from the pulpit use their own analogies, even stories to make a point that is descriptive of the Word of God they are going over, in their lives, or the lives of others? Now put the Word of God into another language, and sometimes you'd be surprised where that gets you! lol I know because my first language is Spanish (Home), and English from the School/streets.

That is why translations can be tricky at times. Clearly you understood what he was trying to say, but instead of focusing on that you choose to focus on the actual words themselves as if he was intending to denigrate or misapply God's Word! Do you really think that is what he was trying to do? I do not.

Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." John 2:19 NKJV

Without the Word of God, would we be any different in not understanding what our Lord & Savior Jesus was saying! So, you did good in testing him out, but the questioning you used needs a little work.

Now, if the association/context of what he wrote was out of Wack, I'd be right with you in correcting him Brother Dave! Or if he was actually saying that the parable you gave as support for his distortion was wrong, and his was right; then I'd be shoulder to shoulder with you in admonishing him!!!

I hope Brother Dave you get where I'm coming from in this.

@Bill Personally, I am more interested in what he is saying as it pertains to receiving the Holy Spirit. Is Brother Bill by his analogy talking about growing in the Word is necessary before one is indwelled by/with the Holy Spirit and if so, how does one get the understanding if the initial sealing of the Holy Spirit is insufficient to be guided or given understanding by or is it?

I see, so a donkey is a king or prophet, interesting. Lol.

I dare say, there were more than prophets and kings who had the Spirit in them.

Not all who are Christians are born again, and not all "Born Again" have the Spirit fully in them. It has to do with the level of ones faith.

There were many people pressing to see Jesus, many who desired to be cured of one ailment or another, yet only the woman with the hemrege recieved the healing. "Jesus felt the power go out of him" "your faith has healed you".

We are to be more like Jesus.... in our actions, which is way more important than the words. Its those actions that people see that draw alot of people either closer to God or further away from Him depending on those actions. The words are important, they are Holy Words with power unto themselves but the Lord chooses humans to be the vessels that carry those words in action to be the witness to the world.

you can only act like Jesus as you behold him as he is in his Glory. You can not see him in his Glory if are not keeping his Word. (Commandments)

Jhn 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

Jesus only manifests himself to those who keep his commandments (his Word)

This is exactly how Jesus walked with his Father.

Joh 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

I think it was Curtis in another thread that he spoke of two men who were actively reading the scripture. And it was this that got him to pay attention. Thier action of reading the scripture together.

It also appears to me these folks come from a background of believing so-called doctrines that are not found in Scripture. So it's very easy for them to say these things.

I'm sure brother bear would attest to this, that when people feel that they are their own church, and choose to follow what they feel is their understanding of the scripture. Then also say that all other denominations all other churches are full of Bologna. How difficult it is to teach anything to people like that.

Jesus clearly wants people to come together in him. And the devil clearly wants everyone to be separated. So when we see so many people running off onto their own whim as what they feel to their understanding of scripture is, you have to wonder what voices they are actually listening to.

There's two sides to that coin. I think they call it the Reformation in this case.
