@Andyindauk -- God's Word tells us to Not mess around with the occult or anything satanic. It's dangerous. That particular passage was relating to something totally different. Those men were given those abilities to show that they were different. And in that particular area and time -- it was Jesus Christ who told them that. When they preached -- nothing would be allowed to hurt them.

@KittyLinda -- it's your attitude towards Christmas that puzzles me. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. What is your understanding as to how Jesus Christ came to this world. And His purpose For coming? And maybe it was also SheepMary who questioned Christmas.

The basic tenant of my OP is that we should not fear Satan, Halloween and evil spirits, that is, unless we don't have the loving and all-powerful protection of our amazing, incredible and loving Lord God's care. Some of the responses are interpreting that as me suggesting that we should celebrate Halloween: ABSOLUTELY NOT but then neither should we fear it.

Sue, think very carefully before writing off a verse as not applicable to you but written only to the person to whom it was addressed. I honestly don't know of any such verse in the Bible.

To @KittyLinda please totally ignore the Satan deceived historians who try to link the birth of Jesus with some bygone, irrelevant, weird Pagan ceremony. It's Satan that's the impersonator, definitely not Jesus. So in a couple of months time, yes, let's party! Celebrate the beginning of God's plan to rescue us from an unthinkable inevitable, being implemented giving us a passage to glory, Heaven and God Himself. Celebrate the humility in which Jesus abandoned the resplendent and glorious Heaven to be born of a woman in a mucky stable! Yeuck! Why would He do that? Because He loves us so dearly, He didn't think even twice.

That said, I do think that Easter should be an even bigger celebration and party but for some reason it just doesn't seem to be. Shame.

I think it's like those who play around with a oija board. It's all fun and games Until a person actually Does contact -- for Real - the spirit world.

Satan is the great deceiver -- I think 'he' Loves to see people fool around with the 'spirit' world. -- heaven and God, etc. are okay -- but there Is the very Dark side of the 'spirit' world. And I'm remembering just now about the 'witch of Endore'. and the 'fortune tellers'. We're not meant to know the future. All these things are linked together. Sort of like the world of 'drinking' -- a couple of beers, no big deal -- until the person doesn't handle the beer very well. or the person who doesn't see his world becoming more and more involved with alcohol -- more and more money being wasted on 'booze' and domestic violence. Loosing jobs, relationships, etc. drunk drivers.

Many years ago a granddaughter of mine and a neighbor girl were both 'drama queens' -- they were dabbling with 'something' cause one day at school she was telling a friend that she had been raped by a demon. Her sister said that when the two girls were together -- that part of the house had a very eerie atmosphere. Their Dad brushed it off like -- no big deal. They had books in their house on very questionable topics and they'd watch some really questionable movies. The very dark side of 'spiritual ' life.

There will be a very dark part of eternity -- those in it -- sorcerers to name one 'life-style'.

And just now Also remembering -- back few decades ago , my older daughter had known a guy in middle school and at Halloween time his mother and aunt got together at a party. The son - my daughters friend didn't want to go. He called our house scared out of his mind All of a sudden chairs started moving around -- cabinet doors opening and closing. At that party -- they were 'playing' with him. That would teach him to Not go to one of their parties.

I Will Gladly celebrate Resurrection Sunday. / Easter Sunday. We Do have The one and only :Risen Savior.

So -- we need to be careful about what it is we're putting into our minds, and bodies and social life.

Satan = counter feit of Jesus Christ / God. Halloween can be associated with the counterfeit of Christmas.

Those indicators i spoke of , come from the devil . I know when the Spirit moves in me . I recognize its promtings. The devil likes to try and mimic the Spirit , and uterly fails .

Have you never done street preaching , it is a world to itself . You never know what you will encounter . But many of the great preachers in the past hundred years were people who heard a street preacher .

And when you preach on the streets , you will constantly be attacked by the darkness , they dont want you bringing Gods light into thier darkness

Sue , i am very familiar with the " real " witches and all the other dummies that think they have " power " that includes all the darkness .

I have shared snippets of my experiences over the years here only to be shot down by yourself and others here .

I dont complain , how can i . , others who experience anything in this chat are afraid to speak openly about Gods movement in thier lives .

But i do not fear you or anyone else in this chat . I do try to be respectful even if we clash .

I have tried to repeatedly point out , the Christian thinking , at least in this chat , is not faith bases , but confermation based .

Faith is when something happens with no explination . Faith happens when there are no confermations . Like Peter getting out of the boat to walk on the water . Where is the confermation for that .

The 'by faith' chapter in Hebrews 11. is what faith is.

When Peter was challenged by Jesus to get out of the boat and walk towards Him. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he was fine, but taking his eyes Off -- he began to sink in the water. He was actively placing his faith in Jesus.

Apparently you believe in a post or at least a mid-tribulation rapture of the Church.

Why should born again believers need to feel the wrath of God that is being described in Revelation -- There is the break in narrative as of Chapter 4 -- John is sharing what he has been shown.

I will have to admit that your past posts have, at times, sounded a bit 'other worldly'.

Well -- if someone is stating something that Isn't in God's Word -- then-- it Isn't in God's Word and probably Isn't Of God. IF it is contradicting God's teachings. Some people have come up with some 'way out there' concepts.

Let us start with Peter , you are correct in saying , as long as Peter had his faith in Jesus , he was fine . And when doubts came to him he started sinking .

If in todays world , a person has such an extrodinary experience , yet not walking on water . Rather than hearing what is told by the one telling his / her experience . And looking to the Peace of the Holy Spirit within you as proof . Christians are more inclinded to say , if it isnt in the scripture " verbatim " ( that means , exactly as stated ) then Christians will say , it isnt of God .

I am well aware of Occults as well as the mischief and shenanigans the demons cause , its why i just call it the darkness .

Halloween nowdays is a made up holiday . However the darkness loves it when you give them credence , " it is thier day " because every day is Gods day 24 / 7 . I didnt see the darkness create a single day . But the darkness loves to take away credit from God at every turn.

I celebrate God every moment day and night . And i will not cower to them . But that is me , as well .

Are you more of a friend by leaving her alone . Are you a better Christian by not helping her via protecting her from her own foolishness .
