I am beginning to think that Christians do not understand anything about Good morals or how morals are determine.

No you can't.
yes you can, you should be focusing on the above, and not "here". In other words no matter where you are and what your doing, your focus and mind should be on the above. The truth must always take priority, not the lies and illusion of this world.

Because we're both human beings and can't be in two places at the same time.
When i was born out from my Mothers womb, I became a human being, But When I Was "BORN of GOD" I became a "NEW CREATURE" Who was "BORN of HEAVEN" who had a Heaven Birth and not a earthly one. I am not the same creature that came from between my Mother's legs. :pensive: And That is, what makes some of us different from many, it is not what we believe, it is who we are.:pensive: And that is what makes the difference.

I am going to repeat it again: You must be "Born of GOD" a real Birth and not a thought birth.

@ plough boy-- I'm very much a irn again believer and have been since being a young teenager.

While it's true that we look forward to heaven,. We are still on this Earth.

God has left us in the world to be a witness for Him here. When a person chooses to see only the negative in this world it can easily be found. But there is still a lot of positiveness around. Too. So. Do people see the positive ness in your life as a believer or the negativeness of life.

No, you might look forward for Heaven , for heaven is only a temporal place, Our focus is Beyond there, Heaven will pass away like the stars and the Sun, moon and The universe and Earth and be no more. :pensive: Compared to us, Heaven will be amazed.and in "awe".:pensive: of our appearance.. Above The imagination that even Heaven and all of the crearures that resides there. A heaven view is a worldly view of a earthly creature of that which is to come.

According to God's Word ,heaven --well technically it will be the new Jerusalem being brought down to replace the old earth that we are presently living on.

We usually refer to eternal life as being in heaven which is where it is now. There is nothing beyond that. It's as eternal as it gets.

The other eternal place is in the lake of fire and brimstone. It will be occupied by the false prophet. Satan and the beast. As well as anyone who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

So you say....... You may precede on,,, as you please then. :pensive: because nothing it seems can stop you, or turn you around. So if this route makes you happen continue on your course for you have been warn, and there are No detours ahead and it is all down hill on a steep grade.:pensive:

And you might relate to this as "hate" speech But i am going to tell you right Now it is "The Language of LOVE" and I speaking to you.:pensive:

yes, a witness in the truth, not the lies and illusion. This means a total rejection of the world and its ways. Lead by example.

Why do you think that Christians do not understand morals?
well, what are morals to begin with?
That questions can be asked and, may I say, briefly touched upon in a college semester.
People spend their entire college careers trying to figure out what morality is, and most would agree that our human understanding of morality is as a social construct that is used to benefit society as a whole. This understanding is flexible, as it changes over time.
One common example is slavery. Once upon a time, slavery was something that was supported by the church, and deemed as both moral and, not only socially acceptable, but a social necessity.
Another example would be killing. Murder in itself is bad for the tribe, as less people alive would mean less people to reproduce and carry on the species. But most would say that capital punishment is an acceptable form of punishment. So are the people we deem evil and irredeemable the exception? What about war? Is it okay for soldiers to kill enemy children in combat? The law says it’s fine, and the Bible isn’t against it, so why does it feel wrong?
My point is that not everything is black and white, as you would find many shades of grey in even the most straightforward believes. Some people would say that it’s fine for the government to kill prisoners who deserve it, and others would say that it’s wrong. How do we determine who is right and who is wrong?

One mistake that I see a lot of Christians make is that they have this false notion that the Bible is clear on certain matters. It’s not. I heard someone else say this on this site, but two people could read the same passage of scripture and have two, very different, takeaways from that same passage. What does the Bible say on capita punishment? Nothing concrete. You could argue that God trusts the government to make these decisions for us, as God crested the government and we are to abide by that. You could also argue that God never gave the okay for the government to kill prisoners through a faulty system, and to rely on their own human intellect to carry out these executions. You could use both arguments, but how can we determine the truth? Which belief is moral, and which belief isn’t?
You could pray on it, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the answer. But then your answer becomes a lot more personal. “I believe this because God told me to believe it, and you should too.” That is something you would hear in a church, but tell that to an atheist, and they’ll arch their brow in pure, utter confusion. It would be no different than an atheist telling you that you should have an abortion because they said so.
So the truth is, morals are arbitrary, and the Bible isn’t as clear as many would like to believe. Christians base their teachings on the Bible. But when you take into account various ethnic backgrounds, history, culture, etc., you realize that different Christians are going to have beliefs different from yours. That is why we have churches, but you can see how vastly different denominations can be.
'Whoso killeth any person,
the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses:
but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.
Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death:
but he shall be surely put to death.'
(Num 35:30-31)

Hello @ForeverinHim,

The instruction regarding a murderer is clearly stated above.

I agree that we are shaped by the society and time in which we live, and each one of us is ruled by the law of conscience ( Romans 2:15 & John 8:9 ), but a conscience can be weak, be seared as with a hot iron, and thereby rendered inoperative and even defiled, or be an evil conscience ( 1 Timothy 4:2 & 1 Timothy 1:19 & Titus 1:15 & Hebrews 10:22 ).

If we measure ourselves against the standards of the world then it would indeed be impossible to have a good conscience before God; for it would be open to fluctuation because of the vagaries of culture and time, but if God's word is the standard by which our conscience is set, then it will be set to sound coordinates, and plough a straight course. Paul said:-

'And herein do I exercise myself,
to have always a conscience void of offence
toward God, and toward men.'
(Acts 24:16)

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Try reading the last few chapters of book of Revelation. It's all there.

' This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy,
according to the prophecies which went before on thee,
that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
Holding faith, and a good conscience;
which some having put away
concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander;
whom I have delivered unto Satan,
that they may learn not to blaspheme.'
(1 Timothy 1:18)

Hello @PloughBoy,

I find this interesting,. That putting away a good conscience, can lead to faith being shipwrecked.

Thank you

Chris

Why do you ask,@ PloughBoy?
Simple. There are "morals" and then there are "Godly Morals" and a child of God should know the difference. And how each has come to be. With all of our getting get understanding.

American Standard Version
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get [Godly] wisdom; Yea, with all thy getting get understanding.

We must remember "we are not like them" neither can they be like us. Neither can they explain these things to us, Neither can they see what we see. neither can they understand what we understand. For it is impossible, because they do not have The "ABILITY" to do so. :pensive: For we are a different kind of "Creature":pensive: and we are not the same for we are Different. and I do not mean Thought wise.

So true. and we should not confused the word "shipwrecked" with "Lost or Abandon". Maybe another word like, "wounded very badly" "Scarred", "crippled". "
"whom I have delivered unto Satan,
that they may learn not to blaspheme.":eyes: A whipping. Only true sons receive "Whippings" others go unpunished.

Our morals / ethics come from God's Word. Though people don't usually realize it. Especially the Ten Commandments. And the golden rule. And our inner being tells us when we are close to crossing a line. We can listen to or ignore what that inner voice is telling us.

We all know that worldly stuff. how to be good Americans and good neighbors and it is immoral to pick on the "LGBTQ' community and try to make them comply to our morals. Now that is a immoral act to these "United States of America".

You see, some of us are "citizens" of another place, we don't have problems in our country like that. We are only travelers passing through. Traveling through a strange land. We are only "Pilgrims" strangers here. So just leave us alone, but if called about who are and where we are going. We do not mind telling you, what we are all about, and where we are going. And we will not stand in your way, the way you want to live. But do not compel us to live like you! Because we are different, and will not stand in your way. :eyes:

Jesus said: "they hated without a cause".
