Judging

That is why Jesus explained further in the verses...to take the speck out of your own eye first and then you can see clearly.
Far too many people were judging with specks in their eyes so they were judging wrongly.
We are to judge righteously.

Also, I agree, judge does not mean to condemn. Jesus came not to condemn, because we are condemned ALREADY if we don't believe. He came to warn and he came to give life and to love.

As for GLBT they are being 'self-righteous' when they think its right do do wrong in God's eyes.

Who among us did not think we were doing right before we found Jesus and got our selves born again?

The problem Lanolin is that far to many Christians take this judging thing way to far. Every one feels they have true rightious discernment - the problem is - they dont and judge in error. They judge Gods servants as false on THEIR LACK of understanding. It happens all too often.
Blessings

Interesting.
We Christians, even the real ones, LOL, must judge all the time; anywhere from the red lights we stop at to which church to go to........to the people we hang with to which hand we use when we .............In a way, and in certain instances we do not judge enough now days.

Brother......rofl.........that is not judging that is making choices..
Here is one for you ..........let God tell you wich church He desires you to be a part of.........then all choices and or judging as you said - simply does not exist..........

I agree we must judge what is right in our lives and judge our motives and actions and re-actions........the problem is far too many christians are judging servants of God and claiming they are false teachers and such and NOT out of spiritual insight from God BUT out of their own limited and lacking understanding of Gods word.

Judging is just another word for choices.
I may have to leave this site after tonight. I need practical applications of the word. There is far to little of that. Our preacher said he is trying to start a class like that someday. The problem is that this could attract the wrong heart; one not after the will of God and ones that even unconsciously read their on thoughts instead of the Bible or read thing into the Bible that are not there. I have noticed that a few here does that. Satan makes it harder than it has to be, doesn't he.

I have noticed the same thing. Rather than blame Satan, people need to look at themselves, because they make it harder than it has to be, due to leaning on their own understanding, and allowing the world to filter into their thinking.

I have done some soul searching. You have a good heart. I am sorry we sorry we kind of strayed on the word. There is nothing dumber, I think, than arguing on Biblical topics. Forgive me? Sometimes core values differ but a person must think about what that person could lose with wrong words or wrong attitudes, a friend in Christ. That cost is too much. You are right about me needing help with my attitude. I thank you for that. Too many times my thoughts about women are colored by something that happen when I was 9. I have let go of everything else that happened to me as a child and teen but that one thing. I need to let go I know. When I think it going away I have flashback. I feel I am on the verge of letting go. I think God wants me to learn something before He takes it away. I am in the process of learning. At the end of my 20 years with the psychoanalyst I told the doctor that I had to hold on to that one thing, about women, because I feared that if we talked about it everything would unravel. I am not afraid anymore,

It is a sad thing that we clashed, and I regret and apologize for anything spoken out of turn. Of course I forgive you!

Matt 7:2; say the way we judge others, is the way we will be judged. That isn't exactly the same thing, as not judging.

He who believes isn't judged by the Father, but He who doesn't believe is already judged by the Father... John 3:18;
The Father judges those OUTSIDE the church.

It is OK, for us to judge, as long as our judgement is righteous. John 7:24;

1 Cor 6:3; says we will judge angels.. it goes on to say.. "How much more in this life".

In 1 Cor 5; a man is having a sexual affair with his father's wife. We don't know if the Father remarried, or had multiple wives,
but the woman in question, does not appear to be his mother. Paul condemns them for not judging him and removing him
from the church. ( 1 Cor 5:2-3; ) Paul even says he has already judged him.

In verse 12, Paul asks them... do you not those who are in the church?
In the next verse Paul says... God judges those who are outside the church. We are to remove the wicked from amongst us.

Many churches are embracing homosexuality, even fornication..... are these better sins than the man in 1 Cor 5?

Matt 18:15; "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
Matt 18:16; "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
Matt 18:17; "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

We are to confront those sinning in the church. If they stop... great!!!... if they don't.... treat them like an unsaved person.
We judge those in the church. God judges those who are outside.

If we don't warn those who are sinning, their blood will be on our hands. ( Ezek 3:18-21; )

Yes, dear sister, I would love a copy. Let me tell you something that's kind funny.; when I read that you would sent me a copy I started to freeze-up. Some thoughts are hard to die,LOL. Something happened to me by a woman at 9 that was still hanging on and threatening....after all me and God talked about....to destroy my joy. I will talk to the men about this later. I would not want what happened to be in your sweet mind. Thanks for hanging with me.

A working brain knows the difference between cruelty, fair treatment and selflessness. If we were oblivious, judgment for hell would not be en route to the wicked. The unsaved know they are doing wicked and they love it. That is the verdict per John 3:19.

I can agree that there are sins unto God that we only fully grasp when He is in the picture. Sexual sins fall into that bracket. As do idolatry and honoring your body.

Sites like these are brilliant witnessing and teaching platforms.

Especially when a proper thread / article on a subject is written. Google ''judging'' and you just may find this thread .

Most of my friends and I Google so many discussions and debates. We need proper explanations for questions people ask. We can't always simply say things like ''I am right because the Holy Spirit speaks to me and not you''.

That was an excellent summary. Interesting fact that the incest assumption may not be incest. We assume incest but Paul never worded it like that.

Countless people are considered by the world to be good people, not guilty of sin. They probably have very good working beains, but this is not so much to do with the mind as it is to do with the spirit of man who is impacted by spiritual truth, delivered by the Holy Spirit working in various ways and through His beloved children.

So-called good people will be cast into hell not for the sins they commit or don't commit, but by the. Saviour, Jesus and the righteousness standing they could have had but rejected.

If anyone hated what is evil on any level, they would get God's immediate attention.

Being guilty of sin has never been the issue though. We always harp on it in a silly manner. As though having sin = eternal hell and damnation. Sin = death. A state of death is separation only from God. In this state God knocks at the door to all our hearts. We let Him in when He sees we have a heart after His James 1:27, Rom 12:9 and Psalm 51:17.

These good people that God.... does not find....would fail at their own truthful self assessment 1 Cor 11:31.

We really don't need to spiritualize this too much. The reason a baby goes to heaven is because a baby has not got a brain that can properly discern. Jesus died for mankind... because mankind is accountable for their sins... because mankind has got advanced cognitive abilities / working brains > animals < angels.

1. So-called good people will be cast into hell not for the sins they commit or don't commit, but by the. 2. Saviour, Jesus and the righteousness standing they could have had but rejected

1. They will be cast into hell because they love what is evil > what is good.

2. This statement can so easily be miss interpreted. We have to always clarify such statements. It is not ever a case of accept Jesus = heaven, reject Jesus = hell....in the sense of a. Right religion = heaven, wrong religion = hell. Rather b. Accepting Jesus = sincere repentance of sins = only possible if we actually hate what is evil.

You run into trouble when you focus on the mind---the brain or the intellect or our "advanced cognitive abilities" as the source of spiritual discernment. You cannot ignore the fact that the Spirit of God resides in the spirit of the believer and His discernment is available to him.

People will not be cast into hell for their congregate sins, but because they are not covered by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus! They are unrighteous and therefore are unacceptable to God. Their father is the devil and they will go where he goes.

Yes, it's not always easy to know the differences between your mind and God's mind. But, it is ssssoo easy to be full of YOUR SELF OR MYSELF, Once we / I find out buy prayer we must relent. A Lot of the time we need to tell ourselves SHUT up and listen to the quite voice of God.

1. A true follower judges all things 1 Cor 2:15.

2. A true follower always goes to doctors. They don't tempt God Luke 4:12.

3. Then you are not sounding anything like Jesus in your post # 6.
Good! I did a bit of a study years ago on judging...because a friend and brother said it was what we were supposed to do and I disagreed...So I dug..

A Christian is not supposed to judge another because we do NOT know the heart of the person and we do NOT know all of the facts....But we are supposed to judge ourselves...We are supposed to judge one another. aaaaand that contradicts...lol Ok Ok...We do not judge one another for the things we do but we do judge among ourselves for the purpose of settling disputes...
We cannot take our disputes to the courts of the world...Know why?
1 Corinthians 6:1-5 (CJB)
6 How dare one of you with a complaint against another go to court before pagan judges and not before God’s people? 2 Don’t you know that God’s people are going to judge the universe? If you are going to judge the universe, are you incompetent to judge these minor matters? 3 Don’t you know that we will judge angels, not to mention affairs of everyday life? 4 So if you require judgments about matters of everyday life, why do you put them in front of men who have no standing in the Messianic Community? 5 I say, shame on you! Can it be that there isn’t one person among you wise enough to be able to settle a dispute between brothers?

Did I say that clearly, or did I ramble? Kind of full from dinner..LOL

Brother to use google as your source of spiritual knowledge of Gods written word and ways - well it just aint smart. They make their sites look and sound so good. They say the right things to get your attention and any one with at least a half a brain can manipulate scripture to fit any doctrine or belief.

I have spent much time debating things with you and you are not even seeking His word foryour self for truth. Nice...
Blessings
Jim
