Let's share a testimony of praise and thanks daily

Brad you know you were supposed to stop for bread and milk on the way home, if its snowing in the south its a tradition :) I am in NC and amazed how everything in the grocery store get sold out with slightest amount of snow.

LOL!! You are exactly right! Despite having food and drink of all kinds, people empty the shelves of bread and milk near the beginning of snow storms. What is it about milk and bread? :)

Each day I get up early to have some quiet time before all the children get up and the daily routine sets in

But it's not really quiet...every morning I am serenaded with the glorious dawn chorus......the noisy, melodious sounds of magpies, parrots, galahs, wattle birds, sparrows and often kookaburra's singing and chirping away.

Thank You Lord for Your the natural lovely sound of Your creation
For the birds singing their praises to You

I have added a video from youtube of an Australian magpie singing.....its not my video.....but just one of the regular harmonious sounds we are blessed with daily

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
Who maketh His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire:
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
Psalm 104:1-5

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.
Psalm 34:8

I would like to thank the Lord for delicious juicy fruit, naturally tasty and nutritious

Today my children and I have been strawberry picking.....the taste and vibrant colours of the fresh strawberries was so lovely. A wonderful sign of the glory of the Lord in creation.

Praise the Lord

Here's a picture of some of our pickings.....arent the colours beautiful

Those look pretty good. I have a small strawberry patch here, but its winter here, and no strawberries till spring.

I am thankful for today and tomorrow being my days off, will be able to catch up on sleep.

Ever since friday when the snowstorm hit, the chickens have stayed in the coop because they didnt want to venture out into the snow, but there is only small patches of snow left in the yard and I am thankful they can finally get onto my fenced in front yard and stretch their legs.

I praise God for the beauty of a newly-fallen fresh white blanket of snow on a December day in Canada. And also for the ability to move it off my driveway.

I just came in from snowblowing the driveway and I am rejoicing in the Lord. Thank God for electric start and for a snowblower that has electric start! And steering control!!

I'm happy to report that those new parts are on my new-to-me machine and everything works! For the first time ever I was able to both start a snowblower and maneuver the thing with no problems. I now have options for clearing the snow! Usually I prefer a shovel, but when we do get dumped on, it's nice to have a snowblower to do the heavy work, and not to have to wait for help.

I got up this morning thinking ugh back to work after a weeks holiday
Not really relishing the thought
But.....
Today I must thank the Lord for employment.
For having a good job, close to home that brings in enough provision for our large family

May my little light shine for You today dear Lord

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17

drove the florida this week and praise the Lord my truck started over heating the second I got in the parking lot of my destination. I see that as a blessing as it could of happened and left me stranded on the side of the rode somewhere. Thank you Jesus !!

We have lived in the south (NC, SC, TN) for 35 years, so we get that, and we lived in Ohio for 32 years, so we know, too, about snow storms. One of the biggest ones we experienced, though, was in Indiana, in 77/78, not sure what month.

LOL! I got home from work today with my truck overheating as well. I am going to have to park it until I can get it into a mechanics shop which will probably not be till after the new year. I will have to use my retired wifes car unfortunately. It has been leaking a little for about a year now, but today it was a gusher, so its not safe for the 45 minute drive one way to work. And I was thankful as well that the thermometer gauge stayed safe and only started smoking due to steam after I got home.

So many things we can take for granted, like a working vehicle. Right now, so far, our vehicle has been reliable, but I can remember many times such as you describe here, too, so I sympathize. So, I am thankful that, for now, our car is working as it ought, and that we can afford the gas to get us places, too, and that we even have the freedom to go here and there and not have to be dependent on public transportation. I am thankful that I have a warm place to live and sleep at night, too, and blankets and pillows, because it is cold outside. And, I am thankful, too, for all my friends and brothers and sisters in Christ on TJ, for you all encourage my heart on a regular basis. I don't want to ever take you for granted.

God has blessed me in so many ways! Thank-you Father!

The wife and me made a stop on our way home, for a bite to eat. The place is called "The Well" in Pennsylvania. Sandwiches, drinks, along with tables and some areas that have couches for sitting and enjoying some quiet time. All the proceeds goes to helping Missions. This is where I met a Brother in Christ Jesus called Jay this past Saturday. The only part of his body that he can move is his head. I believe he is a quadriplegic.

A care taker was with him. Yet, from talking with him, I realized that he was there for a purpose. He was asking donations and giving away at the same time Christmas ornaments. Simple, circle, with the Words Merry Christmas. Jay, said that he comes there periodically and that whatever money that gets donated, he gives to the Mission work there at The Well.

One can see the fire of the Holy Spirit of those who know the Lord. Just look in their eyes and you can see it!!!! I could see in Jay! Couldn't spend as much time as I would have liked talking with him, since I was there with my wife :) Still, the moments spent with him were precious to me. Especially as both of us acknowledged our Hope in the Lord, and how we are looking forward to His return!

I made a donation, and didn't want the ornament, but he made me take it! :) He told me "I have plenty more where that one came from"!

The time I was talking with him. His caretaker had moved away, during this time and so enjoyed this time alone with him. As alone as one can be in an eatery during lunchtime!

Still while sitting with my wife, which was a little distance away from where their table was at. I noticed that the woman, seemed separated from everything that was going on around her. Not an aloofness, but a sense that she was there doing a job. One that require her to spend time on herself. Even though her attention wasn't necessarily all on Jay. I noticed one time she had gotten up and spent time looking at the pastries....oh, did I forget to say that they also had yummy pastries? Cakes, and all sorts of baked goodies!!! Sorry, back to the caretaker. Yet, I noticed that though she looked at them all, she didn't buy any of them.

Seeing this, I felt moved to buy one for her. Without her knowing, I was able to lay it on the table. Explaining to Jay that it was for her. He then told me that he had eaten the exact pastry earlier and knew they were delicious! :) Having gone back to where my wife was at. I noticed that the caretaker, had returned to the table where Jay was at and that he was explaining to her that it was a gift for her. Seeing the perplexed look on her face, and feeling the pull to go over and give her a few words of explanation.

I let her know that what she does as a job is so overlooked by many. Though man does not always see, that God surely does. Not everyone can do what she does. And so was moved to share a little blessing with her. In the knowledge that she is not overlooked by everyone, and most especially that our Heavenly Father sees the work she does. I shook her hand and the resulting smile that I received was truly a blessing for me.

Thank-you Heavenly Father for using me in this small way and may it always be to your Glory & Praise! Alleluia! Amen!

Nothing is too small for us that does not provide us an opportunity to show the Love of the Lord! Love you my Brothers and Sisters for allowing me to share with you all.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I am thankful for the understanding of my wife to accept me as I am and to love me as I am.

That's a beautiful blessing, Brother. It must be very special to you.

She and my mother are the only humans I have met who have been able to do so.

You can add me to that list, too, Brother, but whether you'd feel the same way about me after a few years/months... days....?

Praise the Lord

Thats the thing, There is a lot of people I think I would love, but I dont think its fair to say I do, unless I would be able to spend enough time with them to see their everyday behavior. For me to love anyone starts out as respecting them, then seeing kindness and compassion in them. Now to love someone enough to want to spend lots of time with them like a spouse, requires a step more, to acknowledge their faults, but easily forgive them, for I am faulty as well and need the forgiveness of others.

Okay then, logic aside... :) ... I love how you like to encourage others here. I respect that. I love how you like to pray for others needs, I respect that as well. I like how you rebuke others, very kindly, they probably arent sure you did sometimes. I also like how you dont shirk away from rebuking someone at times. Its something thats needed in the church ... IF... done in love, you do great at that. So that beginning love I spoke of, yes, I would have it for you as well. But unless we lived in the same house for awhile, I wouldnt know the last part. Thats more or less what you said in the second sentence I think?

Oh, and yes... <Bless you>

thank you for your encouraging words @Brad Huber .
I must say though, that if it were not for the Admin here and Staff Members (Moderators) here at TalkJesus, I would fail miserably. They keep me on a very short leash by their example. So I pass your comments about me to those to whom it is due. And i also clearly want it pointed out that all Members here have been an iron for me over the years and I am slowly becoming less blunt! Thank you.
Most importantly though, is that any and all good that appears to come from me can only be attributed to my Lord and Saviour. Our Lord and Saviour. Nobody would want anything to do with me outside of the richness of His Love that He has given me and all praise and honour and glory is to Him, our King and Redeemer, Jesus Christ the Lord.

I think you might get a little cranky about my apparent loud snoring (I am oblivious to this!) I am not much of a cook either, so it is probably a good idea that you stick to your dear wife, Brad!

Either way, we have so much to praise the LORD for and love shared is something very precious that He has given unto men to partake in, Praise His Name!

Bless you ....><>

Thank-you God for sharing your children and the knowledge of these two Brothers in your Son Jesus with all us of here awaiting the day only you know of. Bless you Father for all you have done for me seen and unseen. In the Name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen, Amen, Amen!

Even as I had sadness today in my job in how this World interacts with each other. I want to thank-you Brothers for a conversation that has moved me to tears of joy all at the same time. As we see dimly at the moment, and one day will see clearly not only our God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but each other as well. Your words show how much of a blessing that day will be, even as I have been blessed in reading them this day.

Once again, thank-you brothers for sharing your words with the rest of here.
God's Blessings for you and yours.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

There are so many scriptures which tell us to rejoice, even in our suffering, and even when we are being mistreated and persecuted. It is a hard thing to do sometimes, I admit, but it is not impossible, because we don’t do it in our own willpower and strength, but in the power and strength of the Lord!

I can tell you that, even if you are going through some very difficult times, it is enormously healing to just sing songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. It has a way of lifting our spirits, and pulling us out of the pit of depression, and giving us new hope and healing, and renewing God’s purpose within us.
