Our life on earth is brief and I think it's important for all of us to begin a spiritual journey sooner rather than later; understand who made you and for what purpose. Surely you are searching for the truth; I assume that's why you're here.

Even though I don't completely understand where you're coming from, I think your candor is brave. I would venture to say, at some point in your life, someone confused, self-righteous, and calling themselves a Christian made you feel small. I call people like that followers of man-made religion and not followers of the Bible.

The fact is, God is a loving God. God made us because he wants a family and a relationship with us. He doesn't want robots that he controls; hence our free will.

The Old Testament teaches us that we can't follow law or 10 commandments. Back then, if you broke one of the commandments you were guilty of breaking all of them. A blood sacrifice was required for people to atone for their sins, so they took animals to the high preist to offer as a sacrifice for their sins.

The New Testament teaches us that God had compassion for us and sent his son Jesus as man to taste death for man. He was the one-time sacrificial lamb for all man, for all sins: past, present, and future. Therefore, we are no longer under law or condemnation, but under grace and can go boldly to God in prayer, knowing that he hears us. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)

Believe in God's love for you and what he did for you on the cross.

When you are ready to receive all that Jesus has done for you and make him your Lord and Savior, please pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord and Savior, now and forever. Listen Lovestory, please don't try to convert me to your religion please. People have different beliefs. You have yours, I have mine. If I am wrong I am wrong. But you see I have harmed nobody and if God decides to send me to hell for my own beliefs and other things that are considered as a sin, then I believe that is really messed up. God should accept you no matter what, as long as you haven't done really bad things in your life, unless if you feel remorse. It just sickens me that the thought of God sending for example two people who love each and if they don't admit that they're wrong for being the way they are and confess their sins, they go straight to hell. Thats really messed up.

Also, I don't think you understand why I'm here. I like talking to people who have different beliefs, debating with them about things, but I would like it if they understand that I am not here to convert to another religion. Geez, how many times have I said that here? Hmm...I keep telling you yet you keep trying to.

No, not at all. That is not the correct answer. I just got interested in things like Wicca, Satanism, etc. I do plan on learning more about other religions also sometime in the future.

Wow really? See, this is messed up. So if someone doesn't say that they are wrong then they go straight to hell? Seriously? Do you even know how messed up that sounds?
Also, remember this is the internet, I'm not trying to convert you to any religions I follow, or spread hate about your faith, so there is no need for you to try and convert me, and tell me what I am doing is wrong because some book tells you it is. You know what, its my life, not his. If God exists he needs to know that I and many other people in this world live life differently. Not everyone needs to be a Christian. You don't need to be a Christian to be a good person.

My son is gay (or so he says he is). He has maintained that proclamation for four years. Recently he told me he is "in a relationship". My husbands response was, how did you meet him. My response was, I raised you as a Christian, the bible says homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. I told my son I love him too much to sit back and make him feel like he is doing nothing wrong. This conversation between my son, husband and me occurred two weeks ago. Since then, my son has a great relationship with his father, my son won't look at me or speak to me. I am interested in your input.

Let us focus on what this thread was originally started for.


The original poster is looking for Christian responses to this very difficult situation in her life concerning her son.

If we put as much energy into helping the sick and shut in, the hungry and the poor, making better schools and safer neighborhoods as we do stopping abortions and homosexuality and whatnot this world would be a way better place.

I'm afraid that is not what the Bible says. It is clear on homosexuality and lots of other things that the world "conforms" to. You cannot pick and choose what to believe. You either follow Christ fully surrendered, or not. Kicking and screaming that you're this or that and "GOD loves me" doesn't work when it contradicts His Word and His commands in the Bible.

Simply put, God sends a strong delusion to those who chose not to believe the gospel of Christ. Those who take delight in mocking and rejecting Him, He will condemn.
