The offer of Salvation is universal, but the application is only : "by Faith".

Greetings,

may I take this to another level?

God gives gifts so that we can and should and do give them to others ... not for ourselves to keep and 'enjoy'.

When we do not share out the gifts given, we are, in effect, stealing or robbing others of what God has given us, as stewards, to give them.

Remember the feeding of the thousands? Jesus gave the food to the Disciples. Not so that they could have dinner but to give to those whom it was given.

Stagnant waters become lifeless and undrinkable. The Life we are given must 'flow' as rivers of living water.

Bless you ....><>
You lost me. Salvation isnt an offer is what this is about.

True salvation requires correct and profound understanding of this word, for nevertheless, it's the meaning of the name of our Lord and Savior, Yeshua. A lot of people, if not the vast majority, consider salvation as a ticket to heaven or a life insurance policy, it's all of an investment for the next life. I think that's a huge mistake. I believe that if eternal life is supposed to be eternal, then it must start right here, right now, not after physical death. The spiritual status in our mortal life is a PREVIEW of the next life, just like the sneak peak of the Land of Canaan for Moses.

Also, salvation is not a one and done deal, because sancitifcation is a life long process, and the sinful habits ain't gonna disappear overnight. They are like physical objects with an inertia, which keeps them moving in the old direction in perpetuity. The difference is that now you have the Holy Spirit that imposes a force to push back. If you follow the Holy Spirit and stop feeding those habits, then slowly but surely, the old momentum will be depleted, and then you gain a new momentum that carries you a new direction.

Once again Salvation/Eternal Life isnt an Offer, its an Inheritance given to a certain people, Gods elect. An inheritance isnt a offer. Heb 9:15

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

No its not an offer !
I can prove it easily with scripture and reasoning.

You say it is an offer to the elect.

You have a false elect belief, because it they are elected---THEN WHY WOULD THEY HAVE A CHOICE?!

What are the elect going to do...deny the offer?

Think about it for a little while without the Calvin and Luther spin on it.

We all have a choice to be the elect---which is to be an heir.

Maybe, but not according to every sermon I've ever heard, where salvation is always a free gift doled out to anyone who's willing to accept.

Greetings,

...salvation is always a free gift doled out to anyone who's willing to accept.

Poured out, abundantly, without measure.... not "doled out" which implies rationing and little measures, so there is enough to go around.

Bless you ....><>

Greetings,

I would question that.

Surely such things are only in God's hands, at His discretion and will?

Jesus tells us how to be an heir. You have to do what he says. It is to whomever, everyone, and all.

In this passage, read how many times Jesus says "whoever."

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's only begotten Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.

“Whoever” is whoever. This is plain and simple. Calvinists use special exegesis to twist the scriptures. Whomever in the world believes turns into whomever in the world of believers who believe.

1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. This scripture shows that Jesus saves any who come to him in belief; it is a choice of all men, if they only would not love darkness instead of the light.

God wants all men saved. Read how many times scripture says "all men.”

John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

1 Timothy2:3-6 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.

1 Timothy 4:10 (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

That scripture right there should stop any one from ever misunderstanding and believing Calvinism ever again. How much plainer language does it have to be? "Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.” All men have the chance to obey and believe.

thank you, I am aware of these things...

We all have a choice to be the elect

However, the question still stands. Whatever any of us think, ultimately Salvation belongs to the LORD and He will have mercy upon who He will have mercy.

I am sure you realise this.

My point is to remember that salvation is not something we can pick and choose. It is the Father Who adopts, we simply can not choose to be adopted and have it done.

Are we good stewards of His love to us?
Are we, as those who have tasted and know of His grace, reciprocating all He has bestowed upon us to others with a pure heart?

Bless you ....><>

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth,
Which have wrought His judgment;
Seek righteousness, seek meekness:
It may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.

Zephaniah 2:3

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Acts 10:1-4

How do you apply these verses below?

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Hebrews 8:1Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

You cant prove anything. An inheritance isnt an offer.

Those sermons are in error unfortunaetly. Eternal Life/Salvation is given as a inheritance, only heirs receive it as it is given to them.Heb 1:14

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

That scripture is an explanation to the Jews who wondered why God would have mercy on the disobedient Gentiles.

God tells us how to be the one He gives mercy to.

We have a choice to choose to do what Jesus says to do to get saved. Jesus tells us exactly what to do.

Cornelius and his family getting saved is proof that only those who believe and obey can be saved.

Adam brought sin unto humans, because he disobeyed God. God knew this is what would happen, and He made the plan for salvation to be through Jesus, and that plan was made before He made anything. We have a choice, and God wants us to choose to love Him.
Jesus came to earth as a human to show us the way to get saved, how to make our heart right.

When a person wants to be saved, they come to Jesus, who is in heaven, the heavenly Zion.
When we come to him to get saved we have to repent of our sins.

The Jews used to have to do the purification works to belong to God, lambs had to be sacrificed twice a day by the priest, for the sins of the people. Jesus is the sacrificial Lamb of God once and for all. Jesus does the purifying works for us now, just by our having faith that he does. That doesn't mean we don't have to obey him! It means we have to obey him and have faith in him so that we don't have to get circumcised in the flesh and offer animals for their blood...

There is a better hope through Jesus than in the Old Covenant. Through Jesus we are purified inside and out and reconciled to God by God living in our heart and placing us in Him in heaven.

You do realize that you are repeating your mantra rather than addressing the scripture?
