What is the forum's stance on abortion?

My mother was abandoned by my father and left to deal with her pregnancy on her own. She already had one child to a deceased husband.
Back in the 1950s single unmarried mothers had their new born babies taken off them and put up for adoption or put into orphanages.
At least I got to live and prosper, but above all else I became a Spirit=filled born new again Christian who can pray in tongues.
And I now have three adult children and three granddaughters who love their Opa heaps.
Abortion is murder. The snuffing out of life and not just for the first generation.

You are a Living testament of that saying

I was reading in Amos the last 2 days and one of the things impressed upon me by the Holy Spirit was found in Amos chapter 1. It was talking about a national punishment for Ammon. The thing that angered the Lord most about them at that time was....

--- I will not turn away its punishment, because they ripped open the women with child in Gilead.

Now this was not just about aborting the children, but killing the women who were pregnant to keep down their population, so that their own population will thrive more so. Never the less, this is noted more so than just the killing that was done against the children of Israel. The child within the womb of a mother is so sacred to the Lord, that to end that pregnancy is worse than just killing an adult. And it was mentioned as the greater reason that Ammon as a nation will be greatly punished.

I realized that in some ways in the US, we are much worse, because so many women chose to kill their children in the womb because they are inconvenient in some way. As a nation, we deserve greater punishment than Ammon does. And also impressed upon me a month or so ago, that men are just as guilty as the women getting the abortion. These women would not have been pregnant that such a decision had to be made, had not some man gotten her that way because they cared more about temporary pleasure than any child that might result of it. How many men here in their pasts had unprotected sex with some woman of whom they knew so little about, that they had no clue what the woman would do if they got pregnant. Giving human life from the life of the ***** to some woman who may abort it, makes the man "just as guilty".

You all better pray that God spare the US the punishment judgement as a nation that we so richly deserve. Because otherwise it will surely come.

The Day of the Lord is coming, during this event, every man woman and child will know how God sees them.

Life begins at conception. Abortion is the deliberate premeditated ending the life of/killing of another person. Therefore abortion is murder.

I know this probably isn't going to be a popular opinion before I voice it but I feel the need to defend a particular viewpoint for this topic. Just for starters I'd like to mention that I'm new to this forum and fairly new to scripture and my faith in general. I know and understand that life is precious and should not be taken lightly in any situation whether it be entering or exiting this realm.

The topic of abortion is a touchy subject that is usually met with black and white answers that I feel don't justify the circumstances of the criminal and traumatic act of rape. Rape is something that is beyond a woman's control leaving her paralyzed with raw emotion, fear, anxiety, depression and countless other problems that come with encountering such a despicable act.

If a woman is impregnated during this act I feel like she should have the right to terminate the pregnancy if it would cause intense emotional/physical trauma that would cause who knows what kind of events in her life to happen during such a time.

Now do I believe that a woman getting pregnant by being sexually immoral and fornicating whomever she pleases should terminate pregnancy due to her reckless actions? No I believe she should be held accountable and raise the child without question.

If their is error or ignorance in my point please feel free to correct me but my opinion is based on compassion for the individual who goes through something horrible and has to deal with that circumstance.
When you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding, you will view the life conceived in your womb as a blessing, nlt a curse.

Remember Jesus telling his disciples that the reason for the man's blindness was neither because of his sins or the sins of his parents, but was for the glory of God.

When we love God with all our heart soul mind and strength, we will know HE is in control, not us. A life conceived is a life created in the image of God and after HIS likeness.

So what you're saying is....The rapist, if he's caught, gets a couple years of room and board courtesy of the taxpayers, and the woman who was raped gets years of painful memories etc., and the innocent child who was not even there when the rape happened gets the death penalty? Please explain the justice in this? I mean, even when I was not a Christian I could see the wrong here. The woman and the baby pay the price and the rapist basically gets off scott free...

How can one believe, deep down inside, that giving life could be more traumatic then killing a child?

Deliberate killing of a human being is murder.

If a woman doesnt want that child , doesnt mean anyone has the right to kill what God created.

I have adopted 5 unwanted children, and now have 4 grandchildren
