Why do i not attend church?

We r the church we should gather among ourselves when Eva we can frfr...

Funny how they wanna claim they brothers n sisters in them temples but yet ain't Neva been to one another's home or out to lunch or a celebration of any kind ...

Dont sound like much of a family if ya ask me...

Twistie :broken_heart:

I agree whole heartily sister.
I understand we know them by their fruit, but some can fool ya. A lot of hypocrite professing christianity just so you will pay their light bill.
And i also know some of those people are in the church house. But other than my immediate family where can i fellowship with true believers if i dont find them nextdoor. Church house would be a place to find others to sociaize outside of the building.

Naw I haven't been welcomed in one in a long time...

I don't want to go to a concert n that's what most of these temples are like

Light stages movie screens no alter for the Lord cause the Table of the Lord takes up to much room.. no breaking bread no more cause it takes to long..

I'm not setting for popcorn n candy that's spoken in them temples I have visited.. if I want half truths n popcorn n candy I'll go to a fair n talk to a gypsy or something.. n I have no desire to do either

How I see it...

I hear ya.

I agree. I know people who wouldnt miss church service for anything. Like if they dont go to church on Sunday morning, they will burn in hell for sure. And if they didnt give 10% of that weeks paycheck,God would punsish them somehow.
People preach and teach grace and then turn around and inject law into their lives.
We are weird beings for sure.

'For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him,
being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church,
to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas;
namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:'
(Act 15:21-22)

Hello @Hekuran,

I understand why you should feel this way in response to my entry, but I believe that worship takes place within the heart, in spirit and in truth, and the making of melody in the heart to God. It does not require a building or the presence of others. In fact I find that the presence of others can be a hindrance to worship.

The congregations of the early church met within the local synagogue, where the word of God was read openly, for that was their only means of hearing it. As for Paul, by the time he wrote his last epistle, to Timothy, his instruction was very much to the individual believer and not believers en mass.

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
Chris
if I may, I will take it a little bit further. The visible church the institution that consist in this modern day world is a combine mixture of "Nominal christians and True Born from Above Christians". "goats and sheep" "Devils and Saints" in which are member of one another either in the same building. or as The whole body of "The Institutionalization of All Combine churches" which is mixture of all kinds of "Fishes" in a net that was drawn up from The SEA"
[ It Is Adulterated]

Now There Is The Congregation that Christ is Building. "One Body of Believer" who are actually "BORN of GOD" a real birth and not a confession of believeth, a actual Birth. They are "BORN" in another "Sphere" but they are here on earth, And how can that be explain, it cannot be explain it is A work of GOD himself, And it cannot be explain, Just like Jesus Told "Nicodemus" don't even think about it, it cannot be explain!

So The Congregation of GOD cannot be Explain and we are all together for real, everyone from the Day of Pentecost we have fellowship with everyone right now all who have been born again, but those who are alive right now, many are not abiding in "The Vine" by some type of sins, of committing or the sins of omissions, or both. if they concentrate on Obedience and clean them selves up, by washing them selves with the "Unadulterated Word of GOD" daily, For the Holy Spirit" job also is to show us our sins by using the word of GOD in which we read daily and grow in grace, for grace reveals our faults to us personally, then they will "Experience The True "Koinonia" and not the fake fellowship of the combine group of saints, and devils, and demons, Vipers, and snakes and wolves and witches who all come together for practicing all kinds of witchcraft, using Bible verses as potions and spells for healing and blessing and making wishes, and all kinds of Chantings to make something come true, strips of verses in the cars and shoes and drawers and hanging in their houses and repeating these spells day by day, nothing but witchcraft spells and Potions, and having fellowship with those who do. and approve these people. they can never have True "Koinonia" although "Born again" they have broken fellowship with The true "Congregation" of Christ. and you can never convince, because they are learning and Never coming the "Knowledge In "THE TRUTH" because they are outside of "The TRUTH" and so GOD the Father have turn them over to them selves. {and they cannot do without the company of the institutional Church and those members of all kinds of fish, they are comfortable with the atmosphere of such a mixture of Pollutions. like the drug addict gets separated from His drugs after a time, They get lonely and mis that atmosphere with some much " antsy" and they think that is normal and the christians way with the way of the Bible.

Note: I did not say they have been "Condemn" but their response automatically would be "Now there is no Condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" { and I never even mention condemnation, but they are blind in a way and they do not know the difference between "Condemnation and The many Kind of Judgments" that there are in 'The Word of GOD.' because they are not "Abiding in Christ "and they thing they are abiding in Christ. Some never have abided in Him, but have received the Holy Spirit but has never Recognized him as "The LORD of Their LIFE"and do not even know what that means, and all of this, is strange language to them.:pensive:

"for it is By grace are you saved and not of Yourselves"

But i havent seen smiling faces coming out of the rain
Ahahaha I b smiling lol love love love the rainy days especially when the thunder n lightning is goin oh n when the tornados are around the sky is like golden

I was just thinking of some churches i have been in,unfortunately.
Well,i dont know if "unfortunately"is a good word. I did learn about people.

I was in a church where the head Deacon would get into a fist fight with someone if they disagreed. Right in middle of service. A fist fight.
I have seen where a pastor is on fire,i mean plowing straight and strong. And right in the middle of sermon,Santa Claus bursts through the door yelling Ho Ho Ho and start giving the kids candy.
I have seen where the Pator is preaching hard, plowing the gospel plow. A firetruck passes siren wailing, and they all jump up and run to that side of the building to look out the window.
I have been in a church where a Deacon leaves his wife for another. He steps down. They put in another and he does the same thing.
That church went through at least 30 deacons. And i heard the other day another has left his wife.
That is my church experience.
The one i mentioned with Santa Claus is the one i started out pastoring. I lasted 2 months.

Hi Lenz,

Wow .... I can see how you've become so disillusioned with churches. I've mentioned before in this thread the 7 churches in Asia Minor. Only 2 of them got a clean bill of health, the rest had major issues going on there and it seems that lust and sexual goings on were the most common problems. The Nicolaitans were a group within some of the churches. We're not told specifically what the problem with them was, Jesus compares them to the prophet Balaam. Read Numbers 22-24. He was a corrupt prophet who was available for hire at a price and caused untold damage to the Chilren of Israel. He advised the King of the Midianites to use their women to seduce the Israelites and cause them to worship weird, fictional gods. So I'm guessing that the Nicolaitans manifesto was about sex and money.

Another church (Thyatira) had a woman who was quite a senior figure within the church and was described as a 'Jezebel'. Read 1 Kings !6 onwards to get a flavour of her wicked antics. This latter day Jezebel caused a split within the church and the section that followed her were involved in orgies and feasts to idols. Original Jezebel worshipped Baal; Baal morphed into the Roman god of Zeus and who were still practicing child sacrifices.

In none of these churches did Jesus ask them to close their doors. Quite the reverse, he said to one, behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20.

So please don't look at a church and think I'm too good for this church, rather, ask yourself, can I help this church to improve?

Hope all goes well with your search.

Hi @complete

Honestly, I sometimes find corporate worship annoying and distracting; other times I need to be led, and being in the presence of others lifts me up in ways that couldn't happen on my own.

Don't want to introduce another strand to this thread, but felt it's necessary to mention that all Paul's letters are addressed to the whole body of the church

Philemon

To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker— also to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier—and to the church that meets in your home

Titus

The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.

Both letters to Timothy are instructions from an older man to the younger on how to build the church (Ephesus, I think).

So there's no evidence that Paul ever wavered in his commitment to the gathered church.

The last one broke my heart what that preacher man did with the lies that was spewing from his mouth like he could see the future like a gypsy looking into a looking glass.. my heart broke for the woman he did that too.. may YH have mercy on his soul cause u truly can't know what he did... Or is he just evil thru n thru ...

How about where the pastor condemns his wife for not having enough faith to be healed after a traumatic accident, then impregnates his worship leader (a Brazilian hottie) ... and keeps maintaining that he's still pure enough to keep on preaching.

Or where my parent's church decides that my dad should be placed in a nursing home, and so funds my sister to sue me in court so that an elder of the church would get power of attorney over my parent's estate. My lawyer (costing me $3,000.00) said that was the most bizarre court case he had ever encountered.

I wonder if this is what Paul was talking about by not building on the work of another. Like... start your church from scratch.

My daughter visited a church with a friend. Just as a gesture. During the service they all gathered around her,get 2 inches from her face yelling for her to speak in tongues. She said,Daddy i wanted to cry,but i was afraid they would think it was the Spirit and i didnt know what they would do. That turned here against those type denominations for life. Me too frankly. Those people were lunatics.
