Can you be both Liberal and Christian?

Do you think it's possible to be a true born again Christian with Liberal views and ideologies?

So, I take it you don't vote. How about taxes? Do you pay them? How about protesting your tax assessment ? Do you ever? Why? How about serving the military? Should the Christian serve in the military? All of these are but worldly pursuits.

Politics has nothing to do with one being a Christian. But once a person is a Christian it is only natural for him to be interested in the political climate of the country. And to do what he can to affect Christian values upon it.

Why is it that the world must provide the brave men.? Why are Christians such cowards?

He chose to side with the nation Israel and to do all He can to place them as the leading nation of the world. He set up the rules of that kingdom in (Matt. 5-7). He recognized that as far as nations are concerned the Gentiles were dogs when compared with His nation of Israel. (Matt. 15:26)

I know many Christians.. All are conservative..

A person Does need to know they are born-again believers --Then follows being a good citizen. Know the laws and obeying them, And since we Do have the right To vote in this country -- be an informed citizen who takes time to vote.

i don't think satan gives a hoot who gets killed and who gets deceived and way-laid.
As for Martyrs, from what i understand they are ones who lose their lives for the testimony of Jesus. Christians who are killed for other reasons can't really be called Martyrs BUT God still sees their death and has His judgement in store.

Satan wants as much company in the lake of fire and brimstone as Possible. That's why he's called the great deceiver of mankind. He 'deceives' people into thinking they are perfectly okay just the way they Are. And to put off important decisions in life -- accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior until 'later' which ends up being 'too late' for 'us' because we have no idea When we will be in eternity.
 
The voting results show a majority say no. But, this excellent poll has hit the proverbial nail on the head., and is typical of the country. You can't be liberal Christian and support abortion and same sex marriage. It would be an Oxymoron, to say you are a Christian, have Jesus living in you and support both of these!
 
Not only are those who practice wickedness (homosexuality, abortion, and every evil way) but also those who do NOT practice these things but approve of them are just as guilty, and worthy of death as those who do!!

Rom 1:31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Rom 1:32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

The OP covers a whole range of issues including education, taxation, energy policy, the death penalty, gun control and the separation of church and state.

There's far more to talk about than gay marriage and abortion.

If that's what jesus was doing - he failed. The nation never came close to taking up the principles of the Sermon on the Mount, and with a generation of Jesus's death, Jerusalem was destroyed.
 
Talking about something and supporting something in your heart is totally different. Again, how do you support a sin with the Holy Spirit inside you?

If this question is addressed to me - I'm not supporting any sin. I'm saying that there's more to think about politically than abortion and same sex marriage.
 
Sure, praise God for that! I was addressing the original question : Can one be a Christian and a Liberal at the same time?
 
On most of the issues outlined at the start of this thread, I'm in agreement with the liberal perspective.
