The Holy Spirit is convicting us we yield to that convicting and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. A little child is trusting - wanting to please God . They realize that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again for the personally. As a result they become a son or daughter of God / their heavenly Father. They will want to obey Him.
It seems as though what the Holy Spirit will convict of is unbelievers for not believing in Him.
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
It is the Father that draws us unto the Son;
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is the Father that hides the truth from the prudent and the wise and yet He is able to reveal His Son even unto babes.
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
All credit seems to go to the Father as Jesus said the Father gives us unto the Son to be saved.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Since scripture gives the credit to the Father for us believing in His Son, then I would believe the Holy Spirit in us would lead us to give that full credit & glory to the Father as well.
