How do I accept Jesus as my Savior?

Everything mentioned in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are still the same gospel that they always were.

2Cor 11:4; For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!
Gal 1:6; I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,

Paul didn't preach a "different" gospel than Jesus. But even even he would have, Paul isn't your Savior, your Lord or your God.
31¶Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

32For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

33And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

34¶And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

Notice after they have been preaching the ' Gospel ' for a while now they do not know the Gospel we preach today. Verse 34 says clearly they did not understand it at all .

The disciples didn't preach any sermons in the Gospels. Jesus did. He certainly understood what was going to happen and the purpose of it all.

@B-A-C -- backing up a bit -- I never said Not to be baptised -- but simply that it isn't part Of salvation. Baptism is an outward testimony to others of the decision that has already been made in person's heart. Because -- what happens to a person who can't be baptized 'right away' and they die. Are they completely saved or not? Many years ago there was a young lady who'd been coming to our church during the summers when she visited her grandparents. One summer she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and wanted to be baptized afterward. Back at her parents' home -- they were of a different background -- a sprinkling background. They wouldn't let her be baptized by immersion because as far as they were concerned -- sprinkling was fine. They told her that If -- when she was 18 -- she still wanted to be baptized, she could. And they also moved away so that she could no longer be under the grandparents' religious influence.
So -- if that daughter died before being able to be physically baptized -- was she totally saved?

People living Before the cross -- Old Testament saints / born again believers/ believed what the prophets told them -- they looked Forward To the cross. Placed their faith in something not seen during their lifetime.

Those who lived During the time of the cross -- it was Still placing their faith in the shed blood of Christ being sufficient for their forgiveness -- either placing their faith in what they were Seeing -- or rejecting it.

And Now -- We are looking back at what happened in the past -- not being there to witness it -- placing Our faith in what Did happen -- or rejecting it.

So -- salvation has always been based on the same thing. The sufficiency of the blood of Christ on the cross -- His bodily resurrection. Proving that He was indeed the Son of God and not just another religious teacher of that day.

What does the date have to do with what we are discussing. They had only the OT . Its a record of the ACTS of the apostles. Peter doesn't even know about gentile conversion until Cornelius. He's not preaching the gospel of grace . We don't get that message till Paul .
The good news of God's free gift of eternal salvation through faith (the gospel of grace) began in the garden with Adam and Eve. Paul taught this so-called "mystery" to those that knew nothing of it. Those that knew nothing of it were God's targeted audience.

Isn't the gospel of grace , the death ,burial and resurrection for our sins ?

Euangelion: godspel; good news.
Charis: grace; unmerited, unconditional gift; God's favor.

Good news of God's gift of salvation through faith began long before God assumed a human form. Hebrews 11 makes that point clear.

When God became human, HE reconciled humanity to HIMSELF and HIMSELF to humanity. From the time HE walked among men, HE now extends HIS favor, HIS gift of salvation to anyone who believes (pisteōs: has faith in) the incarnate God - Lord Jesus Christ, believing HIS witnesses (the apostles writings) that HE is who HE claimed to be, and believes in HIS death, burial, resurrection, ascension, parousia, etc. Good news indeed.

Is the doctrine of Christ the fact that He is the Son of God. his death on the cross ,His burial and bodily resurrection..

Maybe this will help?

2 John 1:9
(ASV) Whosoever goeth onward and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same hath both the Father and the Son.
(BBE) Anyone who goes on and does not keep to the teaching of Christ, has not God: he who keeps to the teaching has the Father and the Son.
(ESV) Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
(ESV+) Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, R17does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching R17has both the Father and the Son.
(GNB) Anyone who does not stay with the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it, does not have God. Whoever does stay with the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
(GW) Everyone who doesn't continue to teach what Christ taught doesn't have God. The person who continues to teach what Christ taught has both the Father and the Son.
(ISV) Everyone who does not remain true to the teaching of the Messiah, but goes beyond it, does not have God. The person who remains true to the teaching of the Messiah has both the Father and the Son.
(KJV) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
(MKJV) Everyone transgressing and not abiding in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
(NAS77) Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
(NAS95) Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
(NIrV) Some people run ahead of others. They don't follow the teaching of Christ. People like that don't belong to God. But those who follow the teaching of Christ belong to the Father and the Son.
(NIV) Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
(NKJV) Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
(NLT) Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.
(TPT) Anyone who wanders away and does not remain faithful to the teaching of Christ has no relationship with God. But those who remain in the teaching of Christ have a wonderful relationship with both the Father and the Son.

1Tim 6:3 If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,

Matt 7:26; “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
Matt 7:27; “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and great was its fall.”

The doctrine of Christ is simply the things Jesus taught. "Believing" in Jesus means believing in (and obeying) everything He taught.

John 3:36; “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Welcome back Sue! I would add to take up our cross daily, bury the old self and rise as a new being, a reflection of our Lord.

The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart, God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

I agree that believing in Jesus Christ is how we are saved and leads to confessing Him with our mouths as a public witness to others that we are saved for believing in Jesus Christ.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

One verse does not a gospel make.
This verse is not a stand alone doctrine but is part of the epistle to the saints in Rome
Note that Romans chapter 10 follows after chapter 6 on water baptism by full immersion and the spiritual significance of this,
and chapter 10 also follows after Paul's teaching in chapter 8 on the purpose and work of the indwelling Holy Spirit in a disciple.
Verse 9 leads us all into the following -
10:14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
10:15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”
10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

So in order to confess (to assent) to Christ Jesus as our Lord and God one has to believe the gospel not just make a statement of "faith."

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
So then let us return to the words of Christ Jesus -
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Amen, Amen, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 What is born of the flesh is flesh; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born from above.
8 The Spirit breatheth where he willeth, and thou hearest his voice, but knowest not whence he cometh, and whither he goeth: so is every one born of the Spirit.

Thus if we claim we confess Jesus as our Lord and Saviour then we need to assent to his teachings and commandments, such as above.

The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart, God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

What does "believing in Jesus" look like? Does it simply mean I believe there was a guy named Jesus?

Jas 2:19; You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

Or does believing in Jesus mean that I believe everything in the Bible about Him?
What He did, How He lived, what He taught. He is the Son of God, He is God, He was sinless.
He died and was resurrected. He paid the price for our sins. He told us to obey the commandments.
He told us to love one another. He told us to make disciples of other people.
He told us to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

If I don't do any of those things, am I really "believing" in Jesus?

Matt 15:8; 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. ( also see Mark 7:6; )

Matt 7:21; "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Matt 7:22; "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Matt 7:23; "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

The people here are confessing Jesus is "Lord". Why is Jesus telling them to depart from Him? They met your requirements.

And that commandment and invitation for eternal life is to believe in Him to be saved.
