Once saved can we lose our salvation??

Sister you quoted 1 Corinthians 15 in conjuction to mat 24:13 but 1 Corinthians 15 says you only need to believe.

1 Corinthians 15

1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

Faith and enduring under trials are where different to me. I dont think anything else is needed but faith like it says in 1cor 15.

We stand if we believe the gospel.

I gave that to read...the gospel which was preached, which we know now we should stand on it...what a saved person should do. It helps us grow in christ, our relationship with God is of course based on faith. Merely explaining my view...Theres people who believe when you are saved...u can do what you want and keep repenting constantly, hence what i said...yes believing and doing Gods will.

I have done some studying. And I have listened to my pastor. My grandparent's have also done study on this. And if you have ever heard of Kenneth Copeland, I heard it from him. You CANNOT lose your salvation. But if you were to ask God into your heart without meaning it, or without planning on actually giving your life to Him, then I believe it is possible to never get Salvation to begin with until you mean it and live for Him. This is what I believe.

EDIT: Oops, I posted this before reading the other pages, I only read the first. I am sorry if I repeated anyone, or spoke without knowledge of other posts.

I also wanted to state that is Psalm 139, it says that God knew us before he even created the Earth. So it is impossible to lose our Salvation, because God knew the choices we were going to make before we even made them. Our names are already in the Book of Life or not. If our names are in there, they cannot be taken out, because God already knew what choice we made.

But doing god's will inorder to be justified contradicts when Bible says its of grace and not of works. I think doing God's will happens only after being born again out of graditude and love. And its only possible to know what is God's will after being born again so doing works certainly doesnt save anyone. Which is exactly what the false prophet in Matthew 7:21-23 thought that you posted. They did lot of things in Jesus name but Jesus never knew them, so they werent born again and didn't do God's will. Lot of things in Jesus name but not God's will.
Remember Jesus specifically said they were false prophets and wolves in sheeps clothing.

so you know what perspective i have to this...

God bless.

Yes, doing Gods will or bearing his fruit is a sign of salvation and not a requirement.

Like the Bible says: our faith is dead without works. That is not our works but, his who lives in us and, it is not his works that we bear that saves us but a sign of our salvation!

I may be reading this wrong, correct me if I am. But are you saying that we do not HAVE to do the will of God after we are saved?

This is what you quoted me:

The answer to your question is absolutely no, you will do it and do it gladly . It is not a matter of having to do his will rather than allowing him to do his will through you.. As a Christian, doing his will is a critical aspect of the Christian walk. I hope I have explained the difference.

You really can not bear God's fruit until he lives in you. Salvation comes first.

Fruit and works are the same thing. Bearing fruit is such a great example of doing God's work. The symbolic branch and the vine is, of course, us living in Christ bearing his fruit.

I thought that maybe I was reading that wrong. Yes, you explained the differences well. Although I already knew that allowing Him to do His will through me was a gift in itself. To me, there is no greater joy than knowing that God is working through me for His glory.

Mark 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

And, then again, faith without works is dead.

First of all, are you speaking of predestination here?

Secondly, what do you make of this verse then?

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Don't forget:

James 2:14-26 is strictly about displaying your faith, nothing to do with salvation.

Fraction, if faith without works is dead, how can one have ever been saved? Does it not take faith to even be saved?

You should not forget that the way that you have decided to interpret the scriptures is not the only way to interpret them.

Yes. I am. So according to Revelation 3:5 a name can be blotted out? Well then what is the point of Psalm 139? If God knew before he made the earth, why blot it out? And then if that is true. Does he re-write our name and blot it out again every time we repent and sin?

Where does it say that in the Bible? As far as I understand, Jesus died so that when we accept Him, we are saved. The only way I see to lose your salvation is to literally renounce it. My faith is pretty weak still, so I imagine that I am not saved if this is true. And I know I am.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

This is MY LORDS GOSPEL!
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

2Ti 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

We accept what He alone did for us and Him into our heart [Spirit] as LORD! There is no other way!
Thank You LORD JESUS CHRIST my LORD and Master forever more !

BORN AGAIN , BORN OF GOD ,bORN FROM ABOVE AND BORN OF OUR SPIRIT IS aLL gOD GIVING uS A BRAND NEW SPIRIT!

We know the new birth , when it takes place in us!
We give everyth9ing we have and are to0 Him at Salvation! Or we do not get eternal life! vHe Must have His rightful place as LORD OF ALL!
He wants nothing we have !but cannot be less than LORD of ALL!

Eternal life is a New Spirit that cannot sin! It has His type mind and nature! He is the Last Adam and We are made after the pattern of the Last adam! It Our spirit we get that is made perfectly like HIM!

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

It only our New Spirit that is GODS Holy Eternal Child our flesh bodies all die and return to the dust of the earth !Gone forever more!

Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

If a person can just understand we are All a spirit being , dwelling a short time in carnal bodies! The carnal body is Not Gods eternal child!

Hello , I am new here but I meet similiar struggles. We are sinners ,and Paul said nothing good lives in his nature.By grace and through faith we are saved. And gift,as far as I am concerned can be lost. But,it's your free will to choose.Tempeted to sin does not mean you are not loyal to Christ.King David lives in an era when men pay for their crimes. But at this age of grace we are jusified for he undertakes our punishments on cross. But we are still responsible for our deeds. Hebrews 12:25
  1. See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?
Refusing Christ and act with abandon is another matter, like Judas. So worry not, just remain your love to him and obey the Holy Spirit, repent after your sin,and beg God lead you the right way,do not sin despising his blood, land stand firm by Grace.
Blessings to you,brother.

Out of all the comments I have seen on this and all the research I have done, I have found that you cannot just lose your salvation. If you sin, you can repent. But you can renounce your salvation by denying the Lord and turning away. This is my point of view.

Peace be unto you

Do you have scripture to back up renouncing your salvation?

The phrase "losing your salvation" is just the way that it is referred to. No one actually believes that you can lose it by accident, like a coin from your pocket. If you actually believe that you can renounce it as you've stated then you are on the wrong side of the debate. People that believe that you can't "lose your salvation" believe that you can't "lose it" under any circumstances. Period.

And since you believe in predestination, kingofkings316, and some are predestined to go to Heaven, are there those that are predestined to go Hell?

As for the verse in Revelation, I was asking you to explain it to me. Why threaten to blot a name out, if it's not possible? Maybe Jesus was just checking to make sure that we were paying attention? Never know. As for the blotting it out every time that you sin and repent, does it say that? Where did you get that from? I see falling away and sinning as two different things.

I am going to assume that when you say accepting Him, you also mean believing in Him, correct? Doesn't believing involve faith? If you are happy with what you believe, kingofkings316, then good. But you have to understand that not everyone believes what you believe.

Ok when did I ever say that everyone has to believe what I believe? I never said that. Please do not put words in my mouth. Not everyone believes what you do either.

I am not a Biblical genius yet, so I can't just go back up one Bible verse with another like most people can yet. I would actually have to study for a while with several references.

My opinion was based off of what I had found before. I was merely joining the conversation with what I knew. I never tried to tell anyone to believe what I believe.

As for faith; you make it sound like it is some hard task to have faith. Of course you need faith to be saved because being saved involves believing that Jesus died on the cross and then rose again.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 11:25
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

Matthew 17:20
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Whether we can be deserted is not for us to know,I guess.Too many things remain uncoverd.Perhaps some truth is actually not revealed by Lord.I think the predestination is not contradictary to free wiil.If everything is just completely planned by god and leave us nothing to change,it's not necessary for Jesus Christ to give so many instructions for us to obey.So I finally think that it's the matter of God.We are nit God so surely we can not understand his amzing plans. We are men,the receiver of salvation, what we should do is keep on watch..But I believe that as God can lift you,so can he cast you down.Truth and grace goes hand in hand. Some day, according to Heberew,God will judge his own people.Own people.JEws and believers alike.
Should offensive things occur,I apologize.
