Shocking Youth Message Stuns Hearers

Chad- yes I think this forum is different than the other ones I use.

ibuado- One is Saved by the Grace of God, there is nothing we can do to earn it. If someone doesn't do good works for God, yet still believes in God (which isn't very likely I don't think) they still go to heaven...they just don't get any crowns.

If there are no works, they don't have much faith...but it never says Salvation. :-)

One is saved by grace, absolutely. But we are told to "work out our salvation through fear and trembling." Jesus Himself says "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me."

It takes work to be a Christian, if you get what I am saying. Please discern what I am saying so that nothing is taken wrongly. God has called us to come as we are, not stay as we are. Come and change, from glory to glory. we are not saved by works, that is correct however, we are to, once being saved, live a holy life, blameless, spotless from this world, denying ourselves daily, taking up our heavy cross and following Him. It takes effort, I should say, to live the life God has intended us to live, that is, the world will hate us and we will be persecuted for living like Christ.

Emily, you did not listen to the entire sermon he gave, so you have no right to comment on it. That would be dishonest. Had you heard the entire sermon you would know exactly what the preaching is all about.

It had nothing to do with earning salvation which your talking about here.

so lets say that i accepted Jesus, did the whole prayer thing, got all into it for a couple of week, read the bible, prayed, you know all that. well after all that i get tired of getting up early every sunday and driving all the way to church on wednesday (gotta save gas, you know) so all i do know is wake up late on sunday, watch tv and play video games all day, instead of reading the bible and praying. would i still go to heaven?

the way i see it, its easy to claim that you are something.
drunks say that they dont have a drinking problem but its clear that they do because all the do is drink. now if someone says that they are christians but all they is sit through sunday service almost falling asleep and act noting like christians when they are out with their friend are they saved? they said that prayer that one time but after that no much else happened.

To quote exactly what Paul Washer says at about 10:20 into the sermon

What you need to know is that Salvation is by faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ AND faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ is preceded and followed by REPENTANCE

Yes. You wouldn't be a very good Christian, but you are still Saved.

repentance is an action word. It's something you do. Jesus said to the women caught in adultery, "Go and sin no more." she is to "Go" (action) and "sin no more." So Paul Washer would be right. He is backed by what Jesus said, which I quoted in my last response if you would care to reply to it.

Please stop commenting and just take an hour to listen to the sermon. You will understand what I am talking about and then you'll think twice about your responses regarding salvation.

I don't want this thread to get off topic.

One hour won't ruin your day but can change your life. GOD spoke right through this man, you will not know this since you did not hear the whole thing.

You should read Hebrews. It talks about falling away from God, and crucifying Him again on the cross and putting him to an open shame. we can deny Christ by our works. Jesus Himself says that if we don't bare much fruit He will cast us into the fire. a tree is no good without fruit.

Totally and completely agree.

Perfect explanation. Thank you sister. People, don't even think for a minute saying "I believe" and sincerely so will save you. Don't be fooled and think that you can do whatever you wish and be a "bad Christians" and just get your warm welcome by Christ in Heaven. Salvation does not work that way and GOD is not mocked. You cannot fool Him.

James 2:13-17

13For(A) judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith(B) but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15(C) If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16(D) and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[a] is that? 17So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Well sorry for getting the thread off topic.

There are verses that say Salvation is free...if we have to do stuff, it is no longer free.

If you wish to pick verses and interpret them your way like picking cherries, that's your choice but don't go off topic (again) and don't go spreading things about GOD's Word without proving them USING GOD's Word.

You've been quoted ample Scripture already to prove that faith without works is dead.

If you wish to do nothing and say "Hi Jesus I'm here!" good for you. But be very afraid of your destiny because GOD is not mocked.

I'm won't ask you again to watch the video and listen to the sermon. Clearly you do not care whatsoever.

No more comments from you is necessary. You already proved your point and your personal views. Your obviously selfish and do not wish to serve GOD. You expect to be saved and do nothing. Yet I bet you expect His blessings while you do "nothing and stuff"

lolz I'm a brother :D but that's alright.

Wait wait, I'm not picking verses...I do not understand how faith and works go together...but the Bible does say Salvation is free. I guess I could post the verses if youd like.

I also never said I do not do works for God...I probably don't do enough, but I love God too much not to do them. I want some crowns to give back to Christ...I dont want to get to heaven empty-handed.

LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE

You'll get the point of this thread's discussion. You'll get the message sent by GOD Himself through the preacher. You'll get the understanding of what it TRULY means to be saved. You'll know HOW you will know you are saved. Its all in the "LONG HOUR" message.

When GOD sends His messengers and then people, including so called "Christians" do not listen - they are in great danger.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;fools despise wisdom and instruction.

excellent video chad. thank you. this should be a wake up call to the church in america.

emily faith comes first but then once we have the faith we do the works to spread the gospel. as we do the works we build opur faith.
