but how would one know if that was the case and is there any remedy or 'checklist' for those who may be concerned?
It is written..."If any man defile the
temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the
temple of God is holy, which
temple ye are." (1 Cor 3:17)
The 'checklist' is our holiness.
That is the sort of thing that needs to be shared here for all and sundry both Members and guests.
If we busy ourselves telling of faults of others, we close doors and if some are in darkness how besides our claims can they be drawn out?
Be holy.
Those drawn to such a life will follow suit.
God is not willing that anyone should perish. We all need to ask if we have the Father's heart about such things or, now, now that we are saved we have higher pedestals from where to look down on all in error?
I think that believing we are already saved is part of the problem.
It instills a false confidence that overshadows conflicts with Godliness.
I mean, "if I'm saved already, this lie, theft, adultery won't cost me at all!".
Our salvation won't be assured till after the final judgement.
A beautiful part of the body God created is it's ability to look after itself, unbeknown usually to us. The same can be and should be for the Body we say we are part of and perhaps this is at least in part why He gave gifts? Would that be edifying?
Nice analogy!
As the body, uncommanded, filters out the grime-waste products and invasive germs, so the Body of Christ proves such a chaffing edifice to that which is unclean, that the unclean flee away from that which chafes..
How can someone tell if the Holy Ghost is speaking truth to them or 'in' them as implied... or not?
I think many could be helped by this.
As Jesus said..."Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matt 7:15-20)
Now, insert the word 'deeds' for 'fruit', and read it again.
Does not the Spirit within us compel us to prophesy?
To do good or do evil?
Jesus uses 'prophets' and 'trees' where I address 'Spirit within us'.
Bless you ....><>[/QUOTE]
