Sinless Perfection And The Truth That Sets You Free

what a odd thing to say to BA because you and him have known each other for sometime, and I know by his history of posting here as well he Loves God and has never suggested such a thing. wonder why someone claiming to be perfect would be so cynical in your reply at least it appears that way on the internet. May God come into heart at Peice and open your eyes in Jesus name I pray for you.
Do you think being obedient to God is a heresy?

BA inferred that I twist scripture to make my point.
That point being...we can all be obedient to God all the time.

  • Great thing about TJ, everyone has an opinion.
  • Heresy is a belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious (especially Christian) doctrine.
  • Heresy is an opinion profoundly at odds with what is generally accepted.
Were Jeremiah and Isaiah heretics?
Their prophesies ran counter to "general acceptance".

They were chosen of God...are you?

At Peace....Say "Yes I was chosen by God."

1 Peter 2:9 (CJB)
9 But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness

John 15:16 e (CJB)
16 You did not choose me, I chose you; and I have commissioned you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last; so that whatever you ask from the Father in my name he may give you

Deuteronomy 7:6 (CJB)
6 For you are a people set apart as holy for Adonai your God. Adonai your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his own unique treasure.

Deuteronomy 14:2 (CJB)
2 because you are a people set apart as holy for Adonai your God. Adonai your God has chosen you to be his own unique treasure out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 (CJB)
13 But we have to keep thanking God for you always, brothers whom the Lord loves, because God chose you as firstfruits for deliverance by giving you the holiness that has its origin in the Spirit and the faithfulness that has its origin in the truth.

LOL My friend...you seem to be so touchy, so ready for a fight that I have to actively resist poking at you...Do you hate retirement as much as I do? It can make a man really grouchy...
Don't know what you are referring too. I had been talking to Mr. Peace....and you chimed in
Lol, I was beginning to think the same of you since you came in at me first, I thought I had kooties or something

Yes, according to this scripture..."But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" (1 Cor 1:27)
Why am I not surprised?

Greetings,

Why am I not surprised?

are you asking everyone or merely talking to yourself? Either way, is there something wrong with the Scripture and if not, is there something wrong if i associate with it, or for that matter, all who are likewise chosen?

Perhaps we ought to encourage one another more with some of these Scriptures? I don't think the Lord would mind if we did, as by encouraging one another we are doing something wholesome and kind and if we can do it by first esteeming others better than ourselves, then we can do it in the right attitude and begin fulfilling the law of liberty we have been called to, the perfect law, that is.

What does everyone else think?
Is it OK to 'claim' the promises of God in our lives and to remember who we are, if we are in Christ? It used to be a wonderful thing for me as a young Christian. So uplifting and at times helped me through some very otherwise hard moments.

God is Good and has allowed us to see, read, and have oodles of time to do so. Are we so ungrateful that we first spend our time in mockery of others and then completely forget Who called us and out of what... and where.

Perhaps we have far too much comfort and worldly freedom and have become lazy in our ways before God and each other... and the world , meanwhile, perishes... as we sling silly and loaded comments back and forth as if we never had any sin.

Bless you ....><>

Greetings again,

I would rather someone coming here (TalkJesus) and encouraging me and all others, members and guests, to cease from sin, to turn from it and if need be, repent, than for someone to come and encourage me or entice me or anyone else to sin.

So far, I have yet to meet someone I agree with fully on all points of theology and yet i have had the undeserved honour to meet and learn from many who know that we are called to One Body and the Head is Christ.. that by grace we are saved... men who want to be part of God's plan of His loving kindness towards man... and do so even if there are differing takes that often develop into different takes again over time.... but the Lord remains the same as He was and as He will be.

The Bible and every Scripture given is not a theology.

We are not called and chosen to be theologists and philosophers. Sure, we can engage in that but again, give me one man who will remind us all to cease from sin over ten thousand who would promote it.

Perhaps this message written 100 years ago is still something we need to remember?
May it melt our hearts more that we may love more, Him Who first loved us.

"... to give His life a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28)

You have heard sometimes about hell being let loose. Yes, but hear this.
Come to Caiaphas' palace on the passover night, and look at this. "Then did they spit in His face, and buffeted Him: they blindfolded Him and then they smote Him with the palms of their hands, saying: Prophesy to us, Thou Christ, who is it that smote Thee?
And they stripped Him, and put on Him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns"--I wonder in what sluggard's garden it grew!--"they put it upon His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying: Hail! King of the Jews! And they spit upon Him again, and took the reed out of His hand, and smote Him upon the head. Then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. After which they brought Jesus forth wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And when the Chief Priests saw Jesus, they cried out, Crucify Him! crucify Him! Then Pilate delivered Him to them to be crucified . "

My brethren,--these are dreadful, most dreadful, things. And all the time, God Almighty, the God and Father of Jesus Christ, restrained Himself, He held Himself in, and sat as still as a stone, seeing and hearing all that.
The arrest, the trial, the buffeting, the spitting, the jesting and the jeering, the bloody scourging, the crown of thorns, the reed, and the purple robe--Why? In the name of amazement, why did the Judge of all the earth sit still and see all that said and done?
Do you know what made Him sit still? Did you ever think about it?
And would you like to be told how it could be? God Almighty, my brethren, not only sat still, but He ordained it all; and His Son endured it all, --in order to take away sin.

I was just looking at the title of this thread -- "sinless perfection and the truth that sets you free" -- maybe That truth is that there's no such thing as 'sinless perfection' -- at least not in This world -- the one we're living in right now. Being a born-again believer does Not make for sinless perfection. Now, granted, there Are believers who are less sinful than others. But we're all sinners who have been saved by grace. IF we have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior.

Jesus Christ is the Only One who qualifies as being sinlesslly perfect while He was on this earth. His mission was to suffer a painful, horrible death for Us -- in our place. Without That -- we'd All be spending a horrible, painful eternity in hell.

Then Jesus was wrong?
It is written..."And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin." (John 8:32-34)
The truth can free you from service to sin.

If you are still in bondage to sin, what where you freed from?

It is written..."Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)
